Thanks for the video !!! Thanks for being one of the only one who did talk talk talk talk talk about absolutely nothing to do with changing speakers straight to the point 🤙🏼👍🏼
Thank you for this helpful video! My teenage son and I were able to use this video to replace the speakers in his car. One tip I would add. We used the factory speaker housing, broke the speaker supports out and used a Dremel to clean out the inside. Then used that as the spacer for the new speaker.
Got them on ebay. Just type in the size you are looking for and thickness. I think I mention the thickness in the video. I don’t remember the thickness off hand
Great instructional video. Thank you. Did you find that there was too much treble after reattaching the tweeter? Those are coaxial speakers with a tweeter built in. The originals didn't have one build in. Needing to replace my Mazda 3 2010's speakers and keep getting recommended the coaxial options. I have a background in audio engineering and that doesn't make sense to me. How did it sound to you?
Matthew Duminy i am a car audio installer. Usually you get more treble and lose bass, and i tell this to my customers. This customer brought in his own speakers. But actually i was a bit impressed by the sound overall, even though these were actually cheap speakers. You can alway lower the highs on the stereo. But if a speaker doesn’t produce bass, you can add that if the bass is already turned all the way up. When you hook up the tweeter along side the coaxial, its like having another set of highs. If you know factory vehicles, most lack highs and bass. By connecting them together, you make the impedance drop, and this makes the radio or amp push out more power, usually resulting in louder music, and better chance of the speaker hitting those bass notes easier because of more power. Note all speakers will sound this way. When i sell speakers in this type of application, i try to look for ones that have a frequency response of 20hz-22khz The lower the first number the better the bass response. The higher the second number the higher the highs. You won’t always find these numbers, but this gives you a base of where to start
@@raiderman28 Thank you for the video great instructions. I just bought some 2-way speakers. So you recommend connecting the way you show in the video? With the upper factory tweeter and my two-way speaker that has a tweeter in it together. Thanks for any help

Do you think that the ready set of speakers from the Mazda 3 BK will fit the Mazda 3 BL? because most of the sets are for BK, and it seems to me that the screw holes are identical, but I'm not 100% sure
@@karolpiechowski5380 they may fit, but if those are some sort of upgraded speaker, or premium speaker, i would not put them in. They usually run off of a factory upgraded amplifier that probably crosses over the frequencies. So its not the same type of full range speaker.
I own a lower model mazda that doesn't have tweeters so I decided to get the same tweeters as the one in this video. The only problem is that it didn't come with the wiring harness shown in this video. Do have any idea what part # that is? It would help me out more than you could imagine. Thank you
you just have to tap into the wiring of the lower speaker (positive to positive and negative to negative leads.) there is no harness avail, unless you go to the junk yard.
The reason it says that, is because its easier to find spacers or mount them directly without the window hitting them. If you get 6x8’s you will have to get a spacers like i did, since the magnet will most likely hit the glass and not let it roll all the way down. That’s why i made this video. Listen to the video, I believe I mention what thickness spacers you need. Then just look for them on ebay or amazon
What would you do if you wanted to install coaxial or 3-ways? Just because every component speaker I find the tweeters don’t fit and I’d rather not surface mount. Would you just unplug the tweeter and just cross positive and negative wires for the coaxial speaker?
If you watch the video the middle wire on the left and the left wire on the connector go together ( i believe the blue & yellow/blue are the negative for right front speaker and red & red green wires are the positive for the right front speaker. On the drivers side the white/green & green are positive for drivers side and yellow/green & purple are negative for drivers door speaker on this model vehicle. You can also check Polarity of the speaker to see which wire is what, in case the colors are different. You do this by taking the speaker out of the vehicle plug in the original harness in to the factory speaker. Then you take the inside wires and put one on the positive side of your 12 V battery and one on the negative side. When you do these the speaker will move either in or out. We want the speaker to move outward. If it is moving out word then look at which wire is on the positive side of the battery, and this will be your positive speaker wire and the other will be negative. If the speaker is going inward on this test, the the wire thats on the negative side of the battery is actually the positive speaker wire side. Look up how to check Polarity on a speaker on UA-cam. This will give you a better idea of how to figure out which wires or what if the color codes are completely different. Sometimes on certain model vehicles maybe a luxury vehicle Mazda three as opposed to a stock model Mazda three or maybe a different year the color codes might be different. These were for a 2010 Mazda 3 base model with tweeters. Hopefully, I didn’t confuse you too much. Go back and look at this video again if you have any concerns. I don’t know if your color wiring is the same as the one I’m just vehicle.
Do you have a link to where you buy clips to replace all the cheap ones that break off on a Mazda 3 2010? You just inspired me to do this job myself. Excellent video
I usually just look for clips on amazon or ebay, depending on where they are available. Just make sure you have an old clip on hand to make sure it looks similar to the new one.
SugarShane28 these speakers were 6x8 and got spacers for them. But you can fit a 5x7 ‘s also. Sounds weird that both sizes will fit, but thats how it is. Even ford vehicles is the same. You can use a 6x8 or 5x7
Dessika Modus the mazda ones can only be purchased from the dealership. You can also buy aftermarket ones but they are not the same. They will work, bit just don’t fit the same. Other vehicles you can get that look like originals
Speakers only say 300watts max. You need to look at the RMS ratings. Usually most speakers are going to be rated 30-45watts rms with max ratings of whatever. If you go to high up on the wattage, the speaker will be under powered and not sound good. Some speakers like JBL can operate within a range of like 5w-40watts. The higher end the speaker, the more power you need to run to it. Some require an amplifier to sound good
