Well spiderman wasn't only marvel hero radical entertainment also worked a hulk game the incredible hulk ultimate destruction wich some of that games elements such the hulk's running animation,destructible environment and objects,little hub map and open world gameplay kinda of made it into prototype

I can testify, I don’t remember how many meteorite fragments, but once you collected them all they gave you the symbiote suit and it was awesome. Played it on the PSP

I wonder how they would explain Vulture in the Spider man 4 tie in games because Spider man fought him in the first tie in game and we all know every Sam Rami movie tie in game are in the same continuity because of characters referencing their previous encounters with Spidey

Prototype 1 and 2 are the closest thing we have to a full on symbiote Spider-Man game, venom game and Carnage game
This was the best look at the Spiderman 4 games I've seen. Definitely looks like an earlier version of the PS4 Spiderman game.
Oh man, as a HUGE fan of all three Spider-Man movie tie-in games from back in the day, I would have loved to play this as a kid, even if there was no actual movie for it to tie-in to. We really lost so much when they pulled the plug on Spider-Man 4 lol

I don’t think the tie-in games have any kind of continuity so they probably wouldn’t acknowledge past encounters

@@WarpingFist Actually that’s not true because the third game referenced Scorpion’s first meeting with spiderman in the first tie in game and you could visit the same area you fought mysterio in from the second game which is still damaged by the time of Spider man 3
@@SuperMoviemaster21 well there were different studios developing the 4th game and the other trilogy. So those studios probably would’ve ignored the continuity in those games.

Fascinating stuff! Just by looking at the gameplay, I wonder if aspects of this prototype carried over to Web of Shadows. A lot of the animations are similar, the focus on aerial combat and a lock-on mechanic with a dynamic camera. As far as I could find, Radical wasn’t involved with Web of Shadows, but I still think it’s possible they had a copy of the prototype during development.
Radical made Prototype which has a a large focus on lock on/aerial combat so they probably used it as a basis for prototype. The markers and health bar are exactly the same as prototype 1

Great video it was really entertaining, as someone’s that’s played the pc/console build I would say that the combat if finished could have been as good if not better than web of shadows, the way you can chain attacks and web attacks leads to some crazy variation
I’ve played Web Of Shadows and I think it has one of the best Combat systems of all time. Only really behind the free flow system from the Arkham series. I haven’t played Spider-Man 4 but I’ll take your word for it in terms of the combat. I can see it evolving into something truly special in the final game.
This tie in movie game could have been amazing it would have somewhat been better than the web of shadows and spider man 3 movie game though because if this had been a better game than the 3rd then we never would have shattered dimensions and edge of time being made until we had the insomniac's spider man game later on in 2017 than 2018 possibly
The clipping through the floors for the 360 version are because of the emulator when it runs on real hardware it doesn’t have the issue
@NebulaInTokyo it literally does have collision when playing on actual hardware the titanium engine used has multiple issues on Xenia which is well documented as prototype has the same issues on the emulator

There was also a eurocom Xbox port/version of Spider-Man 4 game that I haven’t heard much people mention it but there isn’t much there so it’s understandable but the title screen is pretty fire

@@WarpingFist it’s fun but after a while it get kinda Stale Since there’s not Much you can do to improve or move faster, this older swinging system relies on momentum (I assume) which looks to provide more of a challenge in having to get better at the game to maintain your speed and pull off some smooth swinging. I’ll get Spider-Man 2 and Test it out.

@@SuperMoviemaster21 because it was included on the website Obscure Games who were the ones who originally posted the leaked gameplay, and compiled all available information on the game. Including every developer who worked on it.

2 things
1) I get why sponsors are needed and maybe even why you got the scummy Raid Shadow Legends guys. But the duration is what kills it. 25% of the video length
2) There seems a bit of lack of research. You ended up mentioning Prototype 1 and 2 but didn't even mention Spiderman Web of Shadows. That game uses same assets as Prototype 1 and was I believe intended as the stop gap before Spiderman 4. Because its early builds were based on Spiderman 3 graphics, featured Venom as primary big bad but also had Vulture, Electro etc. Another reason is because it had a short development time of 18 months
I get what you’re trying to say in your second point but theres really no reason for me to mention Spider-Man web of shadows. All my research on Spider-Man 4 was strictly isolated to that game alone. In order to discover that information regarding Web Of Shadows and how it borrowed assets from Prototype or was based on the grapics of Spider-Man 3. I would have had to research about Spider-Man 3 and Web Of Shadows. A complete oversight on my part as I wasnt really considering the development history of other games in order to talk about a singular cancelled project. Maybe it’s because you already had prior background knowledge on these other projects but information such as the ones you mentioned don’t appear when strictly reaserching about Spider-Man 4. Its again, something you’d only know if you had prior knowlede on the development history of these other games. Also, even if I did know this information, I wouldn’t have mentioned it anyway as I doubt Web Of Shadows played a substantial role in this games creation. Like you said, it borrowed assets from Prototype and used to graphics from Spider-Man 3. However, I cant really see how that would effect the development of the tie in game. Maybe they borrowed some animations from it? But as far as I’m aware every animation was taken from Prototype, the combat doesn’t resemble web of shadows, and neither does the swinging. Honestly, I don’t think web of shadows played any role on the development of Spider-Man 4. The only real connection they share is the same assets for new York.
@@WarpingFist Really glad you replied. I believe Web of Shadows was originally meant to be a stop gap game in between the movies since it shows Venom as the main antagonist and also Stark Tower with Iron Man coming in at around 2008. It was stop gap because Spider Man 4 would be releasing too
