TRYING TO BREAK A 12 YEAR CHILLI HOT DOG EATING RECORD IN SOUTH CAROLINA | BeardMeatsFood

- In today's episode we're in Easley, SC at a place called Skin's Hot Dogs, where if you can beat their house record for most chilli dogs eaten, you get the dogs free, a t-shirt and a coveted champion's photo on their wall...
I ordered all my hot dogs up front, but diners can order five at a time to spare their wallet. Each hot dog costs $2.60 and you must finish either MORE hot dogs than the previous champion did in their time (when I arrived the current champion had eaten 16 hot dogs in 1 hour 18 minutes) or the same number of hot dogs as the current champion in a FASTER time.

Evening all! Thanks for stopping my for another episode; tonight it’s the second instalment from the latest trip to the United States wherein we’re trying to get the better of a chilli dog eating record that’s stood strong for twelve years…
I hope as always that you enjoy it and that I’ll see you for the next one in a week’s time. ‘Til then, stay insatiable, big cuddles, your old mate BMF ❤️
Here for the Beard
Afternoon mate ❤
Always the perfect way to end the weekend watching a beard video 👏
Adam, have a happy St Patrick’s day 🍀! Cheers to you 🍻!
Those hotdogs don’t look appetising at all, I hope they tasted much better than they looked!
The best part of these videos is that there is always a mysterious old man lurking in the background Aragorn style.
I, too, have noticed that. Like the ubiquitous old timer at the beginning of a slasher flick, warning the kids to, "stay outta them woods!"
"I can eat a hot dog if I wish, but to make twenty disappear entirely, that is a rare gift."
@@moistgoat8170 hahahaha
„You draw far too much hot dogs to yourself, Mr Beard.“
I was just gonna comment that 😂😂 I swear everytime there’s always some old man spectating and I love it lol
The staff was so nice, but I love how the guy was like: yeah don't order too many in case you don't eat them.
Beard was like: ok, can I take 20?
😂 guilty
😂 he knows who Mr. Beard is now
Gotta agree about the staff being so nice (the man seemed really honest) and the old guy :D Good sense of humor
@@anttipaas1682 They call it Southern hospitality.
The Beard must have a bigger challenge on the schedule, I thought he'd pound down 20 and order another 10 for good measure.
The manager of that place was so nice and humble, good to see ppl like that
what america used to be about lol
@@whereswaldo5644 right!
@@whereswaldo5644It still is in small pockets.
Wasn’t he a great guy 👍
He really is a great guy and the best part is that you run into people just like that at every skins in upstate SC.
This is crazy. I live in Easley. Never in a million years did I think Beard would ever come to our little town. We only have about 20,000 people. Hope you enjoyed Skins!
Open you're eyes this is getting flooded
I used to eat at the one in Clemson years ago...great dogs
Yup, Powdersville here, grew up in Walhalla. Love some skins.
Yeah man, I never thought Beard would come to SC. I'm from Spartanburg and love some Skins
From Greenwood and go to the Anderson stores all the time dogs a fire🔥
This is by far the most outrageous result beard has ever had. A 1h 20 record broken in like 12 minutes.
competitive eating has come a long way in 12 years
The 2 guys was probably not "real" competitive eaters, but just had a "normal" big appetite.
Competitive eaters will either finish before 1h20min or give up.
15 plus min actually
@TCFan25 he ate the 17 in 12min but finished the 20 in 15min
it wasn't 12 minutes
I just love the lady behind the counter genuinely a bit worried that you're trying this. A motherly supporting figure. Bless her heart.
we know what Bless her heart means in the south lol
It's used both literally and as a slight in the south. ...just depends on context.
Blessing someone heart is not a bad thing in the south
Weirdo God fearing lady. But bless her heart
The world needs more workers like these. Can’t ask for better service. Love to see it.
Every business isn't family owned so you won't get customer service like this at 80% of food places in America LoL
The world does but you'll mostly find this in small towns where everyone knows each other.
@@corwincurlinjr6690basically all restaurants in South Carolina is like this
I’m a 3 minute walk from one of the Skin’s locations here in SC. I joked with my wife about how I’d try to beat the record. I can’t let an Englishman hold this South Carolinian throne!
You made it look easy - Congrats!
The absolute best thing about BMF is the absence of ads and ad plugs, it's so refreshing!
i never even noticed up until now, but you're 100% correct!

It's how youtube was meant to be.
I'm old enough to remember the good old days when every video uploaded to youtube was ad free.

Same here. That is still my go to spot well the one in Seneca
I'm right across the river in GA. Pretty cool to see this little part of the world on this channel
I live in Fountain Inn SC, I have gone to the Skins in Mauldin for years.
Same! I lived in Anderson for a couple of years - back in Columbia now. Crazy how the internet makes the world feel so much smaller lol
The guy behind the counter seems a cool dude. So polite and cheerful. That's what's missing in the UK..That'll be that southern hospitality I hear so much about.
Sadly most counter staff in the uk are imported from elsewhere and don't take any pride in their work , unlike the guy in the video
It's a bit nicer up north, people down south are miserable fuckers. (And I'm saying this as a southerner)
South carolina is full of love. You can be anybody of any shape size or color, and youll feel like home.
Its a community and less economy.
I will say its less than i want it to be, but we honsstly have it pretty good and i cant complain.

@@scotttait2197 ughhhhhhhhh even cool channels like this attract bigots! FFS
That is pretty much any restaurant in the US. It being in the south has nothing to do with it.
That guy was so friendly! He gives me the vibe of a loving older brother
Damn. If that first record sat for 12 years, then this staff is gonna tell their Grandkids about the "Day the English rode into town and destroyed an American Hot Dog record. They say, if you listen closely, you can still hear him ask for dessert." Then they take out a slice of chocolate pound cake and all the kids scream! 😜😂 Thanks for a great video!
EDIT: Aww thanks for the love all. Glad I could give you all something to smile about! In addition to the aforementioned video of course. =P

HAAHAHAHHA you won the internet for today Sir !
Nice 😂😂
The old man that leaves when only two hot dogs are remaining. Once you pass a certain age... For a fraction of a second I felt what you felt. Keep up the fantastic work! Truly one of the best of the world.
As a North Carolinian, it's awesome seeing you around these parts. I think the folks you encountered are a good representation of Southern hospitality. Another stellar video!
It's not just the fact the man has amazing skill... it's the humility. He's so kind and respectful of everyone. He's not cocky. Beard walks in, destroys the record, and has an "aw shucks" demeanor about him. FANTASTIC! 😀👍
That’s one of the many reasons why he is the only “Food-Tuber” on YT that i can actually bear to watch! It’s not overproduced or gimmicky, he’s not trying to sell me a product after each video, he’s just a genuine guy with a passion for food challenges which i love. 🤘
@grxy5924 Right on, man! I only watched one of his videos last night because UA-cam recommended it to me and now I'm HOOKED! 😀👍
Also, having worked in hospitality for a couple years now, I can say from experience that the staff definitely appreciated the recognition. He's just a really nice man.
Hope he gave them a tip though and didn’t just walk out with 20 free hot dogs lol
This is why he is the one I love to watch. This place is just down the road from me, and Beard is right about how good the hot dogs are.
its nice being able to feature these little one off places. hopefully the video gets this place more business. the staff seems like nice genuine people.
It's a chain where I live actually. The family has around 10 of them in the area. It is a very popular restaurant. They have good hotdogs.

Its always nice when the staff starts praying for you. During challenges like this.
I came across your videos I think last year? I have binged every single one, and always watch new videos when I can. I never thought that I would find this so entertaining, and amazing. I absolutely love, and enjoy this, the positive attitude, and when you go to a restaurant and everyone is peaceful. Love it all!
Before he passed, my grandfather used to bring our family Skins hotdogs every time he’d visit from Georgia. Easley is about 30 minutes away from me

What a legend
@@sandtoy11510when I was 15, my friend's uncle drove us from greenwood to clemson (where he was a student in 1978) and we ate Skin's hot dogs on the back of an old Mercedes in what was the old parking lot where monterey's was. It's since been torn down. That was my first time in clemson. When I got accepted there in 2005, there was no way I could turn down the chance to live in such a great place, especially having grown up in columbia. I've missed one home football game since 2011 and you can find me in Lot 5 every Saturday in the fall.

I'm convinced his beard is what eats the food and is a endless void. Love the content as usual!
The people there are just salt of the earth. Really nice, decent people, and the banter is great.
I agree, although have a finite amount of food in mind that you need to take down is good - but setting the bar, and pushing your limits is probably the cooler way to go about a food challenge. I enjoy Hot Dogs, so would like to tackle a challenge like this, but it does seem like it would be a great undertaking for a "normal" none competitive eating person. I still find it amusing that people seemingly underestimate your ability (maybe due to your size), but you crushed it. I also feel like when you do go above and beyond the required a part of them is crushed, as I'm sure spots like this take so much pride in their food challenges, but bravo to you, and to hear it was delicious chili is a plus, not too spicy as when your eating that amount, the spice can potentially become a problem. Congrats on another challenge defeated, catch you on the next one.
Way to smash the record! Enjoyed seeing a video of you in my neck of the woods. Cheers! 👌
