I actually found an episode I hadn't seen. This was just hysterical. I was choking uncontrolably with laughter! What great writers, actors and wonderful show. May they rest in peace!
Love this show! That scene of Capt. Peacock taking another umbrella still shocks me - he freaking stole merchandise from the store! He’d flip on anyone else doing that! 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
I did as well. I loved this show and the spinoff when they moved to the country. Come to think of it PBS provided us Americans some great British programs. Last of the summer wine, Dr Who especially Tom Baker, and Red Dwarf.
Same! Was always a treat to be allowed to stay up late and watch this along with Fawlty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By and Allo Allo. Core memories ❤️
Yes, same here...I'd watch it with my Mom & Dad. Both are gone now.❤...Great and fun memories when watching these again and I can still hear their laughter. I'm in British Columbia and our cable had the PBS out of Seattle, Washington. 😊🇨🇦❤
It's blows my mind that three of the actors are basically the same age, with only fifteen months separating them: Rumbold (Nicholas Smith, Mar 5 1934). Lucas (Trevor Bannister, Aug 14 1934) and Humphries (John Inman, Jun 28 1935). Their characters seem to be very different in age; particularly Rumbold. Terrific series and I am unanimous in this.
I love the fact that she came up with the idea and had different color hair for each episode until they had a bigger budget and Molly started wearing wigs.
Maybe they were. Of all the department stores I’ve been in I have yet to meet a cast of salespeople such as these!! John Inman was my favorite only because of his silliness 😂
in aybs the staff are several times offered bonuses of 100 pounds, or 25 pounds or whatever. Its interesting to see on an inflation calculator that 100 pounds at that time is equivalent to around 1500 pounds nowadays - no wonder they jump at the offer
Okay, I have to ask this, and it's probably going to make me sounds stupid Does anyone else wonder if the display models were actually played by people? I feel like they were, but I didn't see names for them anywhere.
It seems to me that it's possible to see the male model wearing a mask, and same with the female one later when she's dancing. Definitely people and not a dumb question
Long live the legends in our hearts

I had forgotten this show. This is cheering me up so much through broken knee tribulations.
It may make me sound old but 'those were the days'.
Nice to watch an episode I've not seen before. Thank you. 😁👍

He didn't steal it, he made a fair swap.
@@MaskedMan66 exactly
I've been watching these episodes for the past 30 years and have never seen this one before. Thought I had seen them all!
Used to see this on PBS while I was growing up.
Same :-) Brit Night.
Same I used to watch it with my father ❤ fond memories

Sad that their all gone 😭😞😓😿😢
We will meet again with Jesus❤❤❤❤
I'd only check into this show when I was a kid to see what color Mrs. Slocimbs hair was that day
I love the fact that she came up with the idea and had different color hair for each episode until they had a bigger budget and Molly started wearing wigs.
These actors are so talented! I read that they filmed all the episodes in one take, like a play.
😂 we never got to see the vaunted Christmas Party 😂😂
😂😂😂 one of my favorite episodes! I've seen it a hundred times and STILL lmao 🤣
'Inside Leg'
'31',
'Fault,'
'Shall we serve again with new balls'
The Automated Fred n Ginger were Smooth!
I will never stop watching this show .... I never stop laughing. A bad mood is erased by every episode. They will always be legends.
Greatest show ever watch on PBS in ohio growing up
Love Love Love this show.
"Are you Free?"🇬🇧😂
I’m freeeee 😄
“I’m late, I’m late, I must press button eight!!!” A great rhyming line by John Inman.
When I’m in a hurry getting dressed I sometimes think about that line 🤣
@26:53, a brilliant tribute to Jack Lemmon and Joe E. Brown in "Some Like It Hot."
One of my favorite shows as a teenager besides Mr Bean👌🏾
neve ever was mentioned that every male was in love with Wendy .... Miss something there,
Maybe they were. Of all the department stores I’ve been in I have yet to meet a cast of salespeople such as these!! John Inman was my favorite only because of his silliness 😂
Wendys for whatss
First time i saw this show was 1996 on PBS at 10pm wow 😮
Same most likely
Me too!!! My brother and I waited up every Sunday at 10pm to watch it! We always tried to guess what color hair Mrs. Slocombe would have.
Hard to believe they are all dead now. This show is s till funny after all these years
Scary.
Never saw this episode before
What a trouper Harold Bennett was, playing his part in the physical condition he was in!
I had a blast all the years working at different department stores

14:01 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Saves the planeets
I thought peacock would be too macho to dance with a guy
I'll never deny that the character of Captain Peacock would not do what's best for the common good. And he was a great dancer and piano player.
Okay, I have to ask this, and it's probably going to make me sounds stupid Does anyone else wonder if the display models were actually played by people? I feel like they were, but I didn't see names for them anywhere.
I had that thought too. haven't actually looked at the credits though
@@alibabaraka5136 only speaking parts were credited
They most likely were. It's not uncommon for actors to be uncredited in roles like that.
York rights 100 percent

Mr Lucas sounds so much like Ewan McGregor
No I do t think so
Yes i dident not yets come too
Miss the seventies sucks now
As "Yank" (please don't hate me) I have tried for 20 years to show the amazing humor on the BBC. Sadly they're still confused
