In real life AP rounds go through things meaning they don't cause as much carnage. Hollow points or soft tips break on impact so they cause greater cavitations inside the fleshy mass they find themselves, but against armor or concrete they almost bounce off. That's the basic explanation for a video game balancing feature.
That all makes sense, but in the game armour piercing rounds do less damage to the chaps wearing jogging bottoms and vests than they do to the guys covered in metal plating. That doesn't make sense, right?
@@borangedunn Yeah, Whitelight has pointed out pretty well in his review that weapon and ammo type balancing against different targets is quite weird/flawed.
@@borangedunn The premise is AP ammo will RL pass through flesh undeformed looking for something harder than bone to penetrate. Once it passes through thin metal or ceramic plate the bullet is misshapen and will spawl & tumble causing more damage to the gooey, soft center. But YMMV depending on the bullet hardness and the composition of the armor. If you could "tune" the bullet & weapon to the specific armor you're dealing with you could achieve optimum performance but you'd wind up with a video game with ammo approaching the complexity of Escape from Tarkov.
@@borangedunn In real life ap bullets will rip right through a person causing one long clean tube wound, yes that is still fatal but less so than a soft point bullet that will tumble and break apart inside the target shredding and goring potentially more organs and causing greater damage. This is actually one of the reasons that hollow points were invented. Regular full metal jacket rounds weren't damaging enough to be considered "man stopping" particularly if they were hopped up on a lot of drugs
Yes, but. A AP round to the face is likely to kill you almost as effectively as a softpoint, or hollowpoint to the the face. If it took a extra round or to the the upper torso, that would be fine. But the game exaggerates the difference to the point of lunacy.
Short little addition to the armor piercing/regular bullets. 'Regular' bullets are made from lead usually jacketed with a thin layer of copper. That means when they hit a target they mushroom to do maximum damage. Armor piercing bullets have either a hard core or are solid. That way they don’t mushroom when piercing armor. But when hitting soft materials the just rip clean through doing fat less damage than regular bullets.
Entertainment in general becomes tainted when association between the Art is paired with anything. As it happens more and more, it also becomes easier to ignore that aspect although it will always remain a footnote on the bottom of our experience.
Am I the only whose favorite map is Montana from FC5? It’s so surreal to me to be driving around in modern day America. And the scenery is beautiful. I live in the PNW which is only a handful of hours away from Montana and Idaho. So I’ve been to both locations and they’re all beautiful. They did a great job recreating that environment. Imo tropical jungles are boring. 10000s of games are set in jungles. Very few are set within modern day civilizations. And very few of those games are set in America. I’m tired of jungles
My biggest disappointment in this game was Esperanza; i liked the little urban combat we got in this game, but the heavily restricted city environment with vehicle restrictions really sucked. I understand why they designed it this way, I just hope FC7 gives us a full, proper urban zone with outposts, treasure hunts, etc.
I found hanging out at any captured checkpoint was a recipe for endless combat. They weren't trying to recapture but just mindlessly crossing enemy territory which became an ammo depleting exercise with little reward. Fast travel and boogie out quickly with whatever reason brought you there to begin with. :P
You can change the look of what you're wearing while keeping the effect of a different item by inspecting it and then selecting change appearance, It took me a bit to find it as well but the feature is there.
I like your Just Cause comparison. Overall I enjoyed 6, but I did have a few issues: 1) The game is way to easy. FC games usually have you start out weak, but this game gives you one of the best guns right off as well as a giant missile launcher. The nail-gun-thing is easy to get and has tons of ammo, is silenced, one-shots enemies in the head, and can stun-lock them. I FC3 I was scared of a group of 5 dudes...in FC6 I wasn't even bothered by 5 tanks. 2) I don't think Castillo's people come off as a threat...they are the government and have a full army, but they are never threatening to the rebel group that's made of like 10 kids. Why don't they ever notice that their checkpoints are being taken over by the rebels? Libertad even flies a giant flag to let the government know that they are there! The bad guy not immediately killing you made sense in previous games due to a lack of infrastructure and whatnot, but not here. 3) The DJ couple you have to recruit are annoying and way too emotionally unstable to have anywhere near any operation. It seems like being a good guerilla requires lots of discipline and willingness to sacrifice and follow orders and they can do none of these things. Props to Ubisoft for giving us some trans representation and also reminding us that transfolks can also be insufferable losers, just like everyone else.

Far Cry 6 - where the silent protagonist is finally united with buddies whom can't talk - WAIT! Now the protagonist talks? Caramba! Mission accomplished! Overall the games have done their best to remain independent of each other as convoluted stories overlap convoluted systems creating post modern art in motion. Nah since launch I was always a fan of 6 (well if where being completely honest I have the same first name as the protag so I felt like I was in the game 💀)
I get that. For my 10th birthday I got given a copy of Full Throttle, where the main character is a biker gang leader who had the same name as me. Best game ever.
I'm with ya, but armour piercing rounds will not do more damage than a soft target round, assuming the same caliber. An FMJ, full metal jacket, round will just punch a hole, whether it be through a hardened surface or just soft meat. An Anti-Personnel round is designed to split into fragments upon impact, but it will never punch through an armored surface, but if all it does impact is meat, it will do devastating damage. This should be common knowledge. Have you never played games like World of Warships or Tanks? Armor-Piercing rounds in WoW will only specifically work against a highly armored ship like a Battleship because there is the problem of over-penetration, where the round just makes a clean hole doing very little actual damage. 🙄
*I was super disappointed in how empty the main city was and how awful the writing was 👎 I knew very early on that it was a game I would beat once and never touch it again* 😍
Years later still one of the- worst far cry's ever made...hate the wokeness, hate the tone, hate everything about this game. Well maybe not the setting. That's all.
It seems many people whom Review/Essay on games forget the beginning tends to get the best treatment because of people whom Review/Essay games. It's a self fulfilling prophesy. We notice it with mention of getting the 'best' weapons or in this case - Supremo's - early on. I find every Far Cry has something to offer a person whom likes games in general with my personal favorites being leaning towards newer as technology advances. I had Pong in the 60's so nostalgia isn't the bait some would like it to be.
Ngl everytime fem Dani started singing I locked tf in & sang too 😂. I aint been so attracted to a character since Citra (who looks like Skin Diamond 😏). Its a fun game but I stopped playing for some reason. I cant remember but it mightve been cause it has multiplayer trophies & that killed my want to play cause if i cant platinum it solo i tend to hate the game 🤷🏿♂️ (Dead Island 2 im looking specifically at u). But no FC game has touched FC3 for me personally. U cant beat a gator hiding in this small pool sized hole of water killing a man fishing as i turned my back to walk away, that catching my attention enough for me to go investigate this npc just vanishing into thin air & all I heard was a slight splash... 👀 fucc.. SPLASH - GATOR ROLL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 shit terrified me & gave me the best memory & laugh for many years.

I get that. For my 10th birthday I got given a copy of Full Throttle, where the main character is a biker gang leader who had the same name as me. Best game ever.
Best dlc in the series
It perfected the repeatable content for progression he feared for the main game(s).
Now you can finally play ubisofts latest FC game: Avatar Frontiers of Pandora
Yes, my quantum computer is on order. :P
200 iq tier list
I think your decimal point needs to go to the left a space or two
There seems to be something wrong with the enemy AI.
What?! No you crazy? Absolutely perfect, excellent AI. How can you not like this?

Waiting on a mom joke . . . .
24:17 *empathize …. Sorry
I wish the game had civilian factions that were pro government, make it more of a civil war with more of a gray zone.
*I was super disappointed in how empty the main city was and how awful the writing was 👎 I knew very early on that it was a game I would beat once and never touch it again* 😍
They could set modern far cry in the middle American nation at this current poltical time
Dico and Bam
Years later still one of the-
worst far cry's ever made...hate the wokeness, hate the tone, hate everything about this game. Well maybe not the setting. That's all.
Far Cry 2 is my least favorite mainline entry. I can't say of the whole series since I haven't yet played Primal or New Dawn.
Bro, please do far fry instincts, its practically a new game compared to far cry 1
Replay with the male dani .. much better
shoutouts should be at the end of a video or not at all. in the middle is just cringe
Mate this entire channel is cringe, haven't you been paying attention?
What a 🤡.
To be honest with ya I think far cry 6 is much better than far cry 5
It seems many people whom Review/Essay on games forget the beginning tends to get the best treatment because of people whom Review/Essay games. It's a self fulfilling prophesy. We notice it with mention of getting the 'best' weapons or in this case - Supremo's - early on. I find every Far Cry has something to offer a person whom likes games in general with my personal favorites being leaning towards newer as technology advances. I had Pong in the 60's so nostalgia isn't the bait some would like it to be.
Nah sorry but it nothing like just cause and it is the worst far cry game so far
i disliked how annoying the characters where
A comment
Nah dis game sucks play farcry 123 blood dragon, or just cause 123
