He did literally start this loop off trying to warn people about the witch cult and being treated like a madman. Of course he's not sure what to say to Emilia.
Personally I think Priscilla is underrated as a source of help in this episode. With everyone else, you basically need a rational argument to convince them to help. But with Priscilla, you don't really need that (given how completely self confident she's like blessed by fate or whatever is fueling that attitude). You only really need to convince her that she'll be entertained doing it and she's already helped Subaru by giving him an entrance to the Royal Selection. So given that Subaru can't logically support himself, trying with Priscilla isn't a bad try imo.
Non plot related anime spoilers for Matt (and I guess some ultra minor clarity from the novel, since it's really not clear in the anime) There is unfortunately an adaption error in the ED visuals. Emilia is depicted looking into a mirror, which is not canonically correct, as Emilia hasn't looked into a mirror since she got unfrozen or whatever. Which is why she doesn't see herself in the mirror for her 2nd trial and it's so notable when she sees herself in the waters reflection at the end of it.
@@baseballlover723 Ah that's really interesting, I feel like that definitely wasn't a detail that was made super clear in the anime adaptation. It's been a bit since I've seen season 2 though so maybe it was more notable then I recall (I'm excited to rewatch it) - Matt
I can agree with the Priscilla take, I think the issue with her is she didn't give him something super concrete to work with her on another life. With the other two he got like factual things happening that he can negotiate with. If he didn't get the info he needed for those two I think Priscilla was his best bet to make an attempt to convince - Matt
Just a little refresher cause I saw you a little hesitant about these facts at the start of the video: Regarding what the show has told us so far about the common knowledge of this society about the Witches of Sin is that the Witch of Envy consumed the other Witches of Sin and like half the world, made everyone her enemy; and was sealed away by the Holy Dragon (the Dragon the Kingdom of Lugunica has the covenant with), the first Master Swordsman and the Sage because her body could not be destroyed (so she's basically immortal as far as we know). All these tells us that Satella is alive and imprisoned somewhere and the rest of the Witches of Sin are dead.
***POTENTIAL SPOILER WARNING FOR ANIME ONLY*** Idk if ya'll know this since it was cut from the anime but Al was isekai'd to this world like Subaru was. He's had a very difficult time as seen from his missing arm and ruined face. That's a reason to why he's so kind to Subaru, tho there's another theory that crosses into spoiler territory and a HUGE relevantion if true. It might of been the event of the earlier half of this episode where he also raged at just the mention of Ram's name despite never meeting her and his mask happens to have a witch's scent.
I have seen this and appreciate the insight but would prefer to keep comments to anime only information, some people consider this stuff spoilers even though not everyone does. Just for future reference, thanks! - Matt

@MattxWillow My bad, didn't think of it like that. I just added a spoiler warning.
