For people who are complaining about the music, the composer,Chikayo Fukuda, did both .Hack and NUS soundrack. So it's normal that thé fellings is the same ( Sorry for my beautiful English XD)
I love Data Drain, I actually caught my friend with it, as it has invincibility frames when you use it. he used Haseo's Scythe attack after knocking me down, thinking I would have to guard on wake up or get hit, but I tried using Data Drain, and thinking it wouldn't work, he didn't bother to guard, but it went right through his scythe attack and hit him, and he was like "O_O...ok, I didn't think you could do that"
Tokio has some swaggin' gloves. And dayum.. Haseo's and Ovan's avatars look so damn awesome. Hell, everything in this game looks awesome. But shame on you CC2 for not bothering to take the time to put in .hack only tracks. And also for not giving other countries up to date stuff on this series. Like, seriously. Japan isn't the only place where .hack fans are. :/
I think that the "Tokio" in this game is Tokio's The World avatar, since the appearance we see in both the manga and the anime, is how he looks in the real world.

This is the best engine for a fighting game ever. It's too bad they didn't go full out on making this a huge game, if only they would explore more series to turn into these types of fighters. Who knows, maybe if it sells well enough we'd get some dlc to add some to this... Minigame.
Man, CC2 really needs to develop Bleach game. I admit their gameplay isn't nearly as deep as other fighting franchises, but one thing they are is extremely faithful to the source material. I look at what they've already done with Naruto and Naruto, and what they're currently doing with JoJo. Now that I think about they should be licensed to make every anime fighters:-/

The only experience I have was with the original .hack games as well as GU, so I'm not sure my information would be helpful at all, but it's just an idea: he seems to be dressed like a teenager and fighting without weapons, spells or in-game "special attacks". That's not surprising. I noticed something similar between the .Hack G,U music and Naruto Ultimate ninja's music. Turns out, they are both under Bandai Namco. It could be the same here. Another thing I noticed is the ultimate Jutsu cinematic scenes in Ultimate ninja are similar to the Divine Awakening in G.U.
this game is included with the movie, .Hack//Sekai no Mukou ni and the game is only for the PS3, some on ebay are selling only the movie, not sure about the game
So, by your logic, i could say that tsukasa is similar to kakyoin, since they both have green ghosts that shot things. or sora is similar to koichi since he/she can level up a.k.a evolve like echoes and has goofy movements. "toko" is also similar to jotaro since he throw punches like star platinum, haseo has a stand that stretch like bucciarati's sticky fingers (lel) and the list goes on.... ..... Yes, we all want to play a game called "The World" imitating the series, but I don't think they will create such thing. And if it was the case, I'd want to play it properly... even willing to wait until we got the right technology... 4K monitors with 3D and no glasses, Unreal Engine 4 or CryEngine 4, Directx 12, kick ass graphic cards, good 7.1 sound systems... and... oh shit, also a new pair of pants.

It bothers me how so few characters are in this game despite having litterally hundreds of characters to choose from throughout the manga's and animes.Where's bear, or Balmung, and why so Sakuya and Sora get to play despite being in only a movie and short OVA series. I wanna see Shino or Helba or something. This game looks like it's fun but the lack of characters is very annoying.

Why does this remind me of the ninja storm games so much? Even the music is very similar.

I thought the same, as I never really played the PSP game, but in the Link manga, Tokyo has the same appearance in and out of The World.
