These look like a great summer shoe. Too bad that their air pressure pods aren't something you could feel right off the bat. Hopefully they'll improve on this. Awesome video
You know, I forgot to mention this in the video but apparently you can refill the air in the pod haha. Also it used to come in two different levels of air so the runners can choose the level of air pressure to their liking. Pretty cool concept. In reality tho.. I didn't really feel much difference haha. Very comfy shoes tho for what they are.
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV well that's a cool concept. They should definitely keep that but improve on the comfort. Just like Reebok's pump technology, these should still remain on the market but with some improvements
Cool, ever had a Hi Tec but was reading about them recently. Badwater is a cool name
I think Badwater is a region in California where the marathon takes place. Supposedly near Death Valley
Never heard of Hi-Tec. Very interesting colorway, like an 80’s look.
Totally 80s right? Haha it reminds me a bit of Jordan 4 and Andre Agassi sneakers (tech challenge)
Great vid! Gives me that real retro vibe that i like! Colorway is on point👍
Totally right?? So 80 and 90s haha
Yoo i miss these reviews bro! Hope to see you back on it !!!
Awesome love to see this and great review always doing your work to provide all the info . And crazy price that's what I call a steal
These are nice..so 90s I love them..
100%
Never heard of this company... that outsole design is really cool
I knew about the brand but had no idea they made running shoes until I bought these. They are pretty big in hiking / trail shoes area and some of the bigger retailers carry (or used to) carry them like REI. I actually learned a lot about the Badwater marathon thanks to these shoes. It's supposedly one of the toughest marathons that take place in death valley California haha.
Really enjoy watching your vids !💯💯👌👌 = D The shoes looks great!
I seen these myself and pretty sure they don't have the ABC cushioning system, looked like just a sticker. I remember seeing the originals back in the 90s and the cushioning system can be removed by lifting out the insole. I'm pretty convinced ABC stood for Air Ball Cylinders. Anyway nice looking shoe and I enjoyed the video 👍
That's really good info! I will have to dig these back up and take a look inside haha. I put them away in my storage last few months. Thanks for checking out the video!
Interesting concept of that ABC, thanks for explaining 👍🏻
Love the touch of pink colour, like the matched beanie too ☺️
Thank you guys! I try to match and coordinate but it's not always possible 😂😂
Dope video fam, like always!!
🙏🙏🙏
Dope that you’re featuring so many obscure sneakers! Cool to switch it up and show us something different
It's totally unintended but I think my taste in sneakers are changing quickly. Branching out to stuff I haven't experienced before haha
Clean af
100%
Design its pretty cool! True to the size that's always big plus. Great summer shoes
Yepp it's basically mostly white based sneakers with lots of ventilation. I hope I can find some time to wear these this summer. Thank you!
Obscure is niche. We actually enjoy learning about lesser-known styles. The shoe matches your beanie! That's a plus! Haha Wish the soles were the same color of the outsoles. That grey is nice. Nice white pocket Tshirt to go with it.
Niche is good haha I think the issue is this brand is literally unknown 😂😂 I think more people will hear about them soon tho.
Hi-Tec shoes.. sounds like it should have lights and self tying shoelaces lol.. I know its just the brand name.. interesting shoe, I like the sole.. that's nice that it will fit any foot.. Quality looks great!
It's such an underrated brand although, I probably wouldn't pay the full retail price for their sneakers unless it's some big collab model.
Wowww this pair of shoes are 🔥🔥🔥
I knew you would like these haha. Such clean white based sneakers 🔥🔥
I guess it will look good for me .. I'm a daily runner aswell .. Awesome info/review man 🤘🤘🔥
Man... I gotta start doing more cardio 😂😂 I haven't run since.... Like 10 years ago
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV lol..
Nice share
Thank you Fam 🙏🙏
I wonder how similar the original ones look to the modern version? The colors are nice on these. Seems like a solid summer shoe
You know, I tried to find some pics of the originals from the 80s but I had a hard time. I heard they added new materials and modernized the shape a bit to appeal to more casual/fashion consumers. I think they did really well. A good mix of retro and modern haha
They look really nice. I didn’t know about Hi Tech being around since 1970s
The sole is really cool, I bet those don’t slip as much as the ones I wear 😂
Wow! What a great deal... I’m gonna check them out ... don’t tell Lieles
😂😂😂 I won't lol. Its actually the opposite for me - I knew they were around forever but I didn't know they still made shoes. This was a nice surprise for me as well to see online and had to give them a try
Dope. That's awesome that you're coming with original kicks.
I just realized... You always wear a hat. You got hair under there?
-GC
Haha yep I have hair. Really short tho. I have very coarse and curly hair that is hard to style... Thinning a bit too but I still got it 😂
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
🙏🙏 Happy holidays!
Love the design and color but they look kinda stiff 🤔🤔🤔
Actually not very stiff. It has mesh in the uppers and the cushioning is very good too altho definitely more structured since they were made for running. Thank you for watching Fam 🙏🙏
Five Minute Sneaker TV always watch your videos are dope
Ditto sir 🔥🔥🔥
very obscure indeed. but interesting. they kind of remind me of the adidas dragonball z frieza release.
Haha yep. I think their flagship shoes currently is the silver shadow. I see them popping up here and there at various online sites
Did HI-TECH come out with combat boots in the 90s also? Or was it another brand? I remember some kids wearing combat boots in school back in the day but just wondering if HI-TECH was the brand.
Yeah! They definitely made combat boots. I think I have seen some at Cabella's 😂 not sure if they are still in production tho
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV 🔥🔥🔥💯👈🤙Aloha
Where do you get your beanies from? Wide selection of colors! I know hi tec from my old backpacking days. Very reliable sneaker. Sort of a retro look on the shoe. Clean look!
Honestly I buy most of my beanies from gas stations haha. The only branded beanies I buy are from Carhartt. Very good quality for cheap!
👍😎👍
🤙🤙🤙 Ayy hope you are doing well brother!
What's the link to where u got those pine green dunks? 🤔
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV In the Nike video my friend I need those to match to my pine green citizen watch 😍
@@mattthegreat4389 I didn't buy mine here but here is a place that still has a few sizes left at retail shop.ccs.com/nike-dunk-low-pro-sb-shoes-2
@@mattthegreat4389 if the remaining sizes are out, your best bet is probably stockx or goat. Shouldn't be much more than retail
Never heard of hi tech sneakers before. Sounds like a tech company 🤔 these bad waters are pretty nice though 👍 gonna look into the company some more see what key shapes they have 🤔 air ball concept don't sound good though 😂
They are currently pushing this model called silver shadow which is basically their version of "DAD shoes" haha. I like them lol probably will buy a pair to see how they feel on foot
They're not niche here in the UK actually and were well known back in the 80s and 90s. But didn't have the cred of the big three brands (Nike, Adidas and Reebok.) They were considered entry-level reliable trainers (sneakers) and not particularly stylish, fitting below Puma in terms of brand credibility on par with Dunlop and Gola. Unfairly IMO. The British military used to buy the silver shadow in bulk for the troops, and their Wimbledon line was the official shoe for the tennis season. In the 2000s they switched almost entirely to hiking/trail shoes and have a solid reputation in those markets.
never heard of them but they not bad.....do yuh think any younger sneaker head would dare to wear dem to school? because we know its all bout branding...so its mainly nike, adidas, puma, fifa (now), New Balance, and some sausony
I highly doubt it haha. I know hi tec is probably trying hard to capture some of the mass market and I think they picked the right archive models to tackle it but like you said it's all about the brand. I think they should push the name "HTS 74" over Hi-Tec personally. HTS 74 sounds so much cooler lol
Five Minute Sneaker TV I agree with yuh! Cus the way the attention span is lol and have some bright colors... sneakers has potential!
It's the similar color blocking like one of asics gel lite 1
I gotta look into those! I only have one pair of gel Lyte 1 (OG re release) and I need more of them in my life haha
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV i just @ you on my tweet. You can see the kicks there
@@bennypaddycake7182 ooooh thank you bro. Also thank you so much for putting me on your top 5 list 🙏🙏
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV you're welcome.
a littles changes here and there, and these ones could be a DBZ Freeza edition!! right??
Haha totally. Definitely the colors!
"squash!" 😂😂😂
😂😂🙏🙏
I wouldn't sport them, I think the pink and purple go well together but not my fav colors. I think they went overboard with the branding, especially on the tongue. Bit to much for me. Great vid as usual. I'm curious do think shoe company's should focus on a niche or just manufacture everything?
I think it depends on the shoe manufacturer but most big names cover pretty much every sport / non sport consumers. Brands like Hi-Tec are sort of making their way back into the scene by bringing back their old archive models like this one I covered today - not to say they don't make new shoe designs anymore. And then there are brands like New Balance who was pretty much exclusive to running and casual wear markets and now they are going into other sports like Bball (by signing kawhi Leonard). Quite interesting actually haha. I am not sure how much of the market they will end up taking over - probably minimal I would think.
Sns ships to the states??
Yepp I live in the states. They do charge shipping cost though.
@@FiveMinuteSneakerTV How much are we talking to the west coast?
@@Virgins-vl3yj I think they charged me 15 dollars for total shipping cost but I ordered more than one pair of shoes.
@@Virgins-vl3yj I am in Seattle BTW.
That's not terrible how long did it take to arrive?
