I just picked up an LQ4 here in montana for 600! its the block, rotating assembly and the aluminum vortec heads. doesnt have an intake or water pump but i found a stock intake with throttle body, fuel rails, injectors everything for 50, so does this seem like a good deal? asking for a friend.

Buying a crate engine would have been easier and cheaper in the long run, but not nearly as much fun. Congrats on beginning the adventure.

Mercy Jim....!!!! Sounds as though you're not doing so hot on the negotiation front. Next time be sure the seller forwards the details of your possible purchase in writing via a lengthy email thread. Printed off and ready to present to the seller. Sorry that you've had to experience that scenario...!!! :-( Keep pressing on to the dream though...!!!! ;-)

@@StreetRodJim I mean here - in ex-USSR countries it's a typical (and disgusting!) way of doing business. And, judging by historical novels, it was that way for ages. Show something cool by reasonable price, when customer arrives - pretend being silly dumbass, and sell some bullshit instead of advertised product using customer's confusion.
I'm glad everything ended up good at the end!
