When setting the door nailers you give all the dimensions needed except how far in from the edge of the tub the 2x6's need to be set. You provide the length of the 2x6's (57"). The dimension they must extend out from the framing (2 3/16"). And the height above the tub flange (1"). I assume the 2x6's must be installed in an exact location from the edge of the tub to accept the side panel.
@@robertschaaf7192 My understanding is that the sill plate gasket material is for sound deadening, not an issue of dry/wet. That's why I asked about the other blocking sites, since they are not mentioned in the video.
Hi Rachel, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet Classic 500 tub wall set! The panels have a caulkless design to simplify installation and reduce the risk of leaks. Sealant or painter's caulk should be used where the wall surround meets drywall or if any gaps are larger than 1/4". -Bryan
Probably not going to get a quick answer on this, but how do I transfer the template info to the actual panel? Do I assume the distance from the edge of the panel is the same as the edge of the level?
probably way too late to be relevant. I recently went through mixer install and ran into that issue. Bought a phister, which had very little documentation, my 5th grade grand-daughter could've written better instructions than they did. I ended up taking the valve back and after researching instructions, settled on a Moen. Excellent instructions and appears to be a quality product. It has specs relevant to depth and etc. I suppose the mixing valve manufacturer would be responsible for producing an instruction video with these kinds of q&a. Regards....
How do you drywall around the top of the surround n why there's no video for this

When adding additional blocking - for ADA grab bars, should that blocking be covered with the sill plate gasket material as well?
it will never get wet

I did. seals and doesn't squeak
What keeps water fron going underneath the panels?
A huge lip that protrudes that the bottom of the Surrond snaps into. The lip is on the tub. I can throw a video up if you still need it
Do u have to caulk the seams to make it completely waterproof?

My shower gets so gross between the bathtub and the shower panel. It’s such a pain to clean!

Good question. Have you done the job yet? I'm considering it but am trying to decide if I can handle it.
Is the foam tape mold proof or should it be protected?
total waste of time ,,,nowhere do they mention the depth of the mixer valve ,,impossible to set without that info ,,what a joke
