Very nice compact power supply. I like the idea of installing a transfer switch in our house and keeping the unit inside. No fuel problem that generators often have. Plus, no fumes!

As an Amateur Radio operator, I'm always looking for a clean inverter, pure sign wave, that has little affect on the 80 meter band. I found some of the inverters built in, even as clean as they are, create unwanted noise ever so many cycles with what we call "birdies" or noise peaks. I ended up with an Ecoflow Delta II Max. It is a very clean pure sign wave inverter for my radio equipment. It too is a powerhouse, especially if additional battery added, but not necessary. Better yet, 5 year guarantee plus fast chargerging as solar and AC combined. Bluetooth is also included with their app for android. EcoFlow Delta 2 has a 5 year warranty, it’s expandable. It weighs 27 pounds. It’s 1000W, we like ours. Got it on sale with a 160W portable solar panel for about $900.
FB shows this brand to me in my feed a lot lol. They should send me one of these big ones to review. We would love one that's larger so we wouldn't have to use multiple small ones. I do like that it's not extremely huge. 45 pounds isn't too bad. I could lift that. I like that you actually show it running some everyday items. I guess the bluetooth app is a nice feature for some peeps, but I don't care much for having to have apps to run things. Guess I'm old school in some ways lol. Great review!

The way the power units have become so much more effective over time is astounding. I still have a sense of worry about how long the units will last, and how they can be serviced if someone relies on them for primary power. But it's also taken away the barrier to have power in remote locations, to nomads, and for emergencies.

Jackery is good quality, but they dropped the ball on LiFePO4 batteries so they don't last near as long. Some of the newer Jackerys have the newer batteries now, but not all.

These provide an alternative & convenient way to provide your camper with power particularly for those intimidated by wiring their van/trailer. They also provide more flexibility, if needed.
However, the convenience comes at a cost. The battery capacity of the Mega 2 is comparable to just 2 Lifepo4 100A batteries at a time when the price of batteries is falling.
Particularly when an Oupes costs around $1,100 and additional batteries are almost $1,000.😮

Consider setting up in the sun to light up both you and the power station. Being in the shadow it is difficult to see the detail you describe about the power station .

You might want to AVOID a Bluetti, I bought a small one, and it had 3 defects. It was impossible to talk to a live person at Bluetti. Could only communicate through email. It took 3 weeks to get a refund, and I had to pay the shipping to return their JUNK. Their customer service is TERRIBLE.
Now we have 2 EcoFlow units. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and the BEST warranty (5years) ANYWHERE, and they work flawlessly.

Hi Rick. Another Good Review. I always thank you for educating me on the many different features these gizmos offer. But with all these different goodies available, I get more & more cornfused as time goes by. I Really wish there was a tutorial available as I need to be walked through the 'it does this, and it does that' as I'm the Clutz of the Month when it comes to anything technical. I wish I wasn't so slow on the up-take, but once I get it, I Never Forget it. Geezoki.

Does Oupes help with tech support if you want to use at home? Have a 1976 mobile home. Would be nice not to have to worry about spoilage and coffee.
For the power unit itself, it's just a matter of turning it on and plugging something in, but if you want to wire it into your existing electrical circuit I would recommend that you have a licensed electrician do that for you. That said, the instructions for that are in the manual for the accessory switch.

That's a hard question to answer because both of them are very good. The Bluetti AC180L is the one that I recently reviewed and it's meant to be paired with the Bluetti MultiCooler. Both of these units are great. The Mega2 is a great value for the price and has great features. For yourself, look very carefully at the features, including size, weight, outlets, and price and see if one or the other stands out for you. I would trust either one.

Rick- oupes has done something. Even using your link and code I can only,see $1234.05. There is not $140 in tax. Any ideas? And the battery is $1024, not $800.

In this case, it's a matter of price and personal preference. Personally, I've had good luck with both. They have different dimensions, so which one fits in your situation?

Rick, thank you for your reply. Have you run an efficiency test? I would be curious what you results are? It has been some time, maybe 6 months, so perhaps they have improved their efficiency. Plus this is the Mega 2, so it could also be different. Am curious... always looking for the best available unit
I did run an efficiency test when I first got the unit and it was 78%. The problem with efficiency tests is that the results are dependant on how large the inverter is compared to the size of the battery in the power station, how big the cooling fan is and at what level the factory has set the cutoff. For example, I an Itehil power station that I tested did very poorly and when I contacted the manufacturer they informed me that it was set at a higher cutoff in order to protect the battery from being taken down to a level that would damage it. That's why I don't do efficiency tests in my review videos any longer.

Sorry Rick. We had the Oupes 5 and found it to be low efficiency compared with several other brands. We actually returned our Oupes 5... Efficiency test was showing 69%...
This is review of the Mega 2 and it compares very well with more expensive brands.

Rick.... In case you haven't heard..... there are several new Sodium (salt) Lithium Ion batteries coming new this year, Li-ion-Phosphate 4 will be History very soon. Salt is more plentiful in all areas, it doesn't require Mining like Lithium does. Here: Sodium material cost: $300.00-$800.00 per metric ton....! Li-ion: $78,000.00 per metric ton material cost. Sodium won't catch fire or blow up 800% safer than Li-ion......! =) Oh, it, Sodium can be drawn down to 0.00 volts w/no damage to battery, electrolyte, cells, sodium...!
