When you landed on that snow mound, I was thinking about heli skiing and when you said “drop off the heli skiers” I couldn’t help but yell out a yeahhhhh!! Lol that was awesome (love to ski). I really wanna get this heli for fun stuff like that.
John, I'm relatively new to the hobby but your information across your site and youtube channel have been so helpful! I'm trying to add FPV to my K123 and couldn't understand why it wouldn't power off the board. I remembered this video and thought I might learn something that would apply. I learned a bunch and key thing here was the reversed polarity on the port! Voila! Thank you! Now I just need to get better at flying :-)
Great vid as always John! Coincidentally, I've been thinking about putting nav lights and strobe on my ALZ 505, even though it's not a fuse of a standard heli. Just would look cool. Keep it up John, and thanks so much for your continued help with my projects! Michael
Great job and thanks for sharing. I have an XK K124 and was thinking of putting green-red LEDs on the tail fins. Does the same method applies? I have tested the 2mm green and red LEDs but somehow found the green to be dimmer than the red, and same thing happens to the other pair of LEDs i tested. Any idea why?
Different color LED's often have different Vf (voltage forward) values and current draw at that voltage. If you want them close to the same light output, you will likely have to drive each color with its own current limiting resistor. Experimentation time.
Hi John, Happy Christmas. .your a great guy, you know i'd been searching for month's and truthfully probably about 4years on youtube to find someone who can describe what he's doing in UNDERSTANDABLE English tht's u. John i need your help is there a way i can send message's to you ,to contact you, chat you . .. Tnk you, Dave
My Story is Like this, i can Fly, i Love flying from FPV, Helicopter's actual real aeroplane's (Cesna) and soon i will be buying myself a para-motor paragliding gig (wonderful) but i have a problem {Jargon- terminology etc} i have a problem with technical term's etc. . i heard the way you Spoke, and u have such abundant knowledge, Thusfore this is why i wanna have a chat with you ask u Advice Please Tnk's Dave
Thanks for this project 😄, however , I did not like the LED putting in those places , instead of as a head light , mounted in main fuse. It is not looking that scale. Thanks again coz I didn't know that port can be used for LED . Good job! .
As I said in the video, it's to give you ideas - you can put them wherever you want. I specifically didn't want an LED up front for the exact same reason I mention it's a PIA in the K124 - wire fatigue & eventual failure.
@@Rchelicopterfun , Thanks for sharing yr ideas. A request , would u pls tell me yr Xk130's Pitch Curve & Expo values in normal scale flying mode? I will turn my Blade130X into XK130 by using xk130's ESC, RX(motherboard) and XK's direct tail motor. I purchased these 3 things Xk130 motherboard , esc & tail motor separately. Reasons : Blade130X motherboard is garbage & too old . I like """direct tail motor drive""" more than traditional tail servo pitch control…… Basically it wld be a hybrid heli of Blade130X+Xk130 . Thanks
I am waiting for him to come. good videos, I asked you one thing in the video of devil 505, about batteries see if you can help me thanks and happy holidays
K123 is easier to see, K124 flies marginally better (at least anecdotally going by my two examples). In my opinion it's a wash. Get which you like the best.
Hi, I had ths as a birthday present and I dont know if something is wrong in th efactory set up, it´s not stable like yours, it´s drifting all the time even when I make the adjust in the controller, how can I know if something is wrong from factory? thank you
If it's always drifting in the same direction - that's a trim issue and the swashplate will need leveling (assuming a cyclic drift). If it's random like how a marble behaves when balancing it on a flat plate of glass - that is perfectly normal and how all collective pitch helicopters behave. My "are RC helicopter hard to fly" page on my website covers this topic in detail: www.rchelicopterfun.com/are-rc-helicopters-hard-to-fly.html
Don't know if anyone has noticed BUT, The battery wires are also REVERSED. I bought an after market battery from Banggood for my Heli-MaX EC-135 and found that I had to take the pin out of the connector and reverse them. I ALMOST plugged to the ESC then noticed this. BEWARE!
Excellent video. I bought two I liked them so much. My question is in listening to your video is. Could I install a headlight, a white flashing light in the belly and a red flashing light on tail. I know I need the 51 ohm 1/4 watt resistor for red or do I need a different resistor? Also do I put a resistor on the white flasher and headlight as well since there will be three lights. Obviously I am not electrical person. Thank you.

@Big D. Only thing better than RC helicopters is skiing 👍 🙂
@@Rchelicopterfun Yes! We just had our first snow here. Cant wait for the season!

Well worth the time & effort. Perhaps a coat of enamel White on bulb, will soften the rear light. Looks very nice. Merry Christmas, Sir.
Good tip. Thanks

John Salt ahh i see. Yea looks like experimentation time. Thanks for the input (no pun intended), mate.

Exactly what I show in my Setup & Tips ebook: -3 to +10 collective range. I don't use any Expo when I have high amounts of dual rate reduction.

Can you attach lights to my helicopter?
Witch is the better choice to buy the k123 or the k124? This two is my favourite helos in real life. And i can't choose.
