Keb Mo 12-fret J-45. Generally, the placement of the bridge is placed further back where it has a bigger surface so the base is usually emphasized and yes louder. I do fingerstyle and just use nails. I have found for myself that the plastic nails gives the trebs a boost. I think that since both can be plugged in that isn't going to be a problem as amps and peddle effects are quite good a giving the sound you are looking for.

"Keb Mo 3" sounds beautiful. It's completely different from other J-45s.
Great guitars. I bought the Keb Mo model back in February at Carter’s in Nashville and I love it. HOWEVER, just a couple days ago I noticed the bridge is pulling up on the wing on the high string side. Looking into getting it fixed, def shouldn’t be having that kind of issue that fast but… Still , it is a great sounding and playing guitar hope to get it lined out soon.

Are you using a open D tuning on the first guitar J45 demo? What is the alternate tuning you are using in the Led Zeppelin song? What gauge strings are on the guitar--- what is the woods used on J45. Also it would be nice to see good referrals to dealers who sell these guitars--- Guitar Centers are sometimes not so good to deal with.
Hey James....Great video. I was curious how the super wide nut (1.8")on the Keb Mo feels? Does a 1.75" nut feel ok afterwards? Also, not sure the cost ($4300?) on that comes through in the tone....as a matter of fact I think the standard J45 sounds better. Thoughts?
I have a 12-fret J-45 with the regular nut width and usual short scale length and a (12-fret) Bluesmaster with the wider neck and mid-length neck. I like the Bluesmaster's width, because I have chunky fingers, but the J-45 is also easy to play because it has the shorter scale length. I don't have a strong preference between the two in terms of which is easier to play. On the other hand I had an AJ and didn't like the combination of the usual lower nut width and the full scale length (neither of which is ideal for me).

Wow, is that a Rode NT1A? That is a toppy recording to the max, and where is the bottom end? I don't know what strings these are, but you have that thing sounding like rosewood, and that's not good. Mahogany J45s don't sound like that to the ear. Not sure what you're liking about that thin chime EQ.
It's the metal finger picks that do that. I'm personally not a fan either.
