I’m a big reader. If anyone is contemplating reading his Lakewood novel - do it. I’ve just completed 20 chapters so far and it’s by far one of the best horror novels I’ve read in a long time. I’ve never had the hairs stick up at the back of my neck like I have reading some of the chapters he’s put out. It’s chilling, scary and very much a love letter to the show. I’m excited to get the full book.

@@myersfan5043 it’s set four years later and the Lakewood 6 have been in hiding since season 2. The killer that murdered Kieran is the killer of the novel. So far there’s been a few deaths and two members of the 6 have died. The Brandon James stuff is reopened again because this killer is claiming to be him. I can’t say much more buddy
I think they need to build off of what Gale said about "true crime" media taking over the horror genre. I don't understand why they added that line because if it were true, then in the Scream universe, wouldn't Gale be this like massive massive celebrity for surviving that many ghost faces? Instead in 6 she just seemed like a corny local reporter (except for having an expensive home).
Realistically the only thing Scream can’t survive without is Ghostface. The fact that Paramount and Fun World have already set a date just shows the studio only care about that mask and nothing else. That’s how it should be. Survivors can come in the truck load, but the movie will always be about Ghostface.
But that’s the problem isn’t it? Ghostface is a legacy. No one who is not connected to previous events would feel the need to dawn it.
So the trick would be find a Ghostface with a motive that has nothing to do with anyone from the past….. or, perhaps the best argument, is that without the right main character, Ghostface can’t exist.
Most motives are revenge related. Connections have never been needed more unfortunately
The charm of scream has always been the characters. It’s what set it apart from other franchises, you actually cared about the characters and when someone died. Whereas these new movies are just a bunch of no screentime nobodies. Ghostface is important but so are the characters, imagine if Scream 1 had unlikeable characters with 0 nuance like the new movies, wouldnt have been as successful

What made scream great is how much it *was* centered around the main characters. I love GF, but I also fell in love with the franchise because of the other amazing characters like Sidney, Stu, Gale, etc.
There are many great Scream UA-camrs, but beyond the mask is the best. That's my hill.

I kinda like the idea for Scream VII in April 2025!
Another reason Neve Campbell has a gap in her schedule this summer could also be for Twisted Metal season 2. Not necessarily just Scream. That show was renewed for season 2 and I do believe she will be back. The new season is being written and I've predicted they will start filming in the Summer once the writing process is done. Neve also said she really enjoyed filming that show and wanted to do more.
Neve is filming something next month, but we still do not know what it is. Some are speculating Sonic the Hedgehog 3. I'm guessing Superman Legecy if it's The Lincoln Lawyer season 3.
If it’s the last one make it epic make it longer bloodier n scarier scream deserves a bad ass ending

Hopefully it can focus on Sidney again and have the latest Ghostface (who I think should be alone this time without any others again) hunting her, Kincaid and their children down, perhaps during the events of Scream VI or a little bit later, I think that sounds like a great story and personal to tell, but that's just me!

Thank you so much for always keeping us updated! I couldn't contain my excitement in 2021 when I heard about Scream but after everything that's happened I just can't really get hyped anymore. This is beyond my fav horror series and it kills me that I'm just so blah about it all now. Spyglass has a lot to make right and a lot of hoops to jump through to make fans happy

I’d love for them to figure things out(wishfully making things right with Mellisa, I’ll ask next weekend at KC Comic-Con) but honestly if they have a movie fully filmed with a cast and crew when it’s announced would be great. It would soften the hate coming in hopefully if there’s a product to be shown to audiences

The gap for Neve doesn’t mean anything. Her filming schedule was made prior to Spyglass plans for Scream 7. Since Spyglass has no filming plans yet, it means filming won’t begin any time soon. It takes thorough planning to accommodate everyone involved. Not just one person.

Not keen on the possibility of it coming out in April, assuming this does turn out to be the release date. I feel like it's a weaker time slot for cinemas and doesn't get as much pull at the box office. Movies released in March/April aren't as popular in cinemas because they fly under the radar in the lead up to big summer blockbusters being released around June/July.. so audiences are more likely to hold out for the summer movies and neglect the ones released in the pre-summer months. Just look at Scream 4, that came out in April and it suffered more at the box office despite being popular with audiences and having more success post-cinema run with dvd and home movie sales.
Well if they bring Sidney back, I hope Stu is back & it’s a showdown. Otherwise I have no interest in the movie

I hope Scream 6 isn’t the last one, but I’m fine waiting another five years for one. What made 4 and 5 so good is they had time to let the industry and state of horror change, and then comment on it. Scream shouldn’t become Saw

Actually Scream 6 should be the last one...
They called out cancel culture and failed by firing Melissa for speaking up. They told us in Scream 5 that Sidney isn't in the last movie just like in 6. They let Sam become a Ghostface and it never happened before to any final girl in this franchise. They didn't even finished this story but that's why it's so good... Because it's poetic and shows a lot about Hollywood. Almost perfect end to a slasher/satire. Melissa walking away with Jenna in the end is so sad after all this.

We really need a sequel to Scream VI, so please bring back The Core 4, Gale, Sidney, Danny, and anyone that survives after the events of Scream VI for Scream VII for The Final Chapter, and I think we’re going to have to release the film for a 2026 release date in the July of Summer.

I would be okay if the franchise ended with 6. It does make a comment made in scream 5 a lot more meaningful. When discussing the Requel trope, it was stated that “Sydney appeared in every film except the last one”. Since she wasn’t in 6, that could easily be the most meta moment of the franchise

April 2025 is a bad idea… the Michael Jackson biopic is coming out that month and Scream 7 can’t compete!
I’m still not going to see it unless Melissa is brought back. Them firing her for the reason they did is connected to a bigger issue at okay, and I can’t in good conscience support the franchise going forward unless it’s corrected.

For *APRIL* , as person since always craving just FUN motive(through legacy prism, constant REVENGE is boring), first thing I thought about is killing spree on APRIL FOOL day. 😁

For DIRECTOR, I THINK, fallowing SCREAM channels, I CAN GUESS who it may be... But as this Barrera drama ruined so much blood and I'll gladly see if it is HIM... So I'll leave it alone, for now. I was kind of invested in the Carpenter sister's storyline. It'll be the same old hat with Sidney back. I hate to say it, but I'm not forward to the new one, if there's going to be a new one.

Still so disappointed. Rather see Tara instead of Sidney or even a return of the TV Show. I do think it's weird that people are always talking about Neve returning but NOBODY is talking about how the meeting between Melissa and Spyglass went? My biggest hope is that it went well and Spyglass gave into Melissa's demands and we will see a return of The Core Four because if Melissa is in then Jenna would most likely be in as long as everyone gets paid. That's my biggest hope and the 'big announcement' is the return of Sam and the Scream 5-6 cast. Completely doubtful, but stranger things have happened and that would be the best thing to happen with 7 is Neve helping unite everyone Spyglass and Melissa and helped work things out.
Jenna is in career mode at this point and is a money making machine. They can't afford her anymore AND it looks like she wants more control over what she works on. She has 3 movies right now in post-production for that she's an executive producer for. If they ever want Jenna back, it's going to have to be for a very strong script and a big paycheck.
@@1bwash If you've been keeping up with the news, then you'd know that Spyglass CAN afford her, but they didn't WANT to pay her. If it was any other studio, 7 would already be filming with The Core Four and besides, if Melissa did sign on Jenna would be right behind her. Their close friends in real life so if one of them signed on, most likely both of them did. But highly unlikely at this point though we have no idea what happened during Melissa's 2nd meeting with Spyglass as nothing's been said about it yet. But probably most likely Spyglass didn't give in and continued to be money hungry bastards.
