Thank you for your fast and overall review! Regarding the size, it is because of the built-in lithium battery. This makes the TX can run for 13h and RX 17h, which means you don’t need to bring an extra charging case to go out and the weight of outing equipment will be reduced.
I was so eager to buy this system especially due to the Sony Mi mount, but he's right, the ease with which you can mute or stop the recording is an absolutely catastrophic design flaw. There's no way I could trust this system to capture crucial audio. You'd only find out in post sometimes and then the whole shoot is ruined and an entire day wasted.
Other reviewers also mention the mute button. I am puzzled: The receiver has a headphone port. Don't they monitor the audio whilst recording it? If you shoot video without monitoring the audio then you are asking for disaster, no matter which microphone you are using. To shoot video without monitoring the audio is a blind flight and a very unprofessional way of working. It would be nice if the mute button was better placed or more difficult to activate but the " catastrophe" is not the design . It's the very careless shooting of video without monitoring the audio. In addition, I wouldn't use the transmitter facing the camera with its big GODOX name. The microphone is on the top of the transmitter so I would just hook the transmitter with the clip facing the camera, not the transmitter body. This way, besides eliminating the very undesired big name of the manufacturer on my shot, it will be a little more difficult to activate the mute mode by accident.
I let me use your video for all the friends who have VIRSO I already have the firmware that improves everything a lot, also eliminates the pause that is made by mistake when pressing the power button by mistake. The new version is 1.56
Always deep and informative. You deserve way more exposure with this youtube broken algorithm. Keep up the great work! But DJI Mic has 24-bit internal, a much better option.
Thanks for the review. Aside from the fact that the mute button is too easy hit I also don't like that the back recording to the SD doesn't start and stop when you you hit record on your camera. I hope they add an option so that the back up recording is always on and that the mute button isn't so easily hit. Other than that the sounds too me is very good.
Nice test and yes, you are the first one i guess. What i don't understand is the differene in bulit-in mic's. Also the point with mute and the same red LED color for muting isn't good. fix that @godox audio
Hello, friend! Thank you for your awesome reviews. I am in the process of choosing a radio system between: 1) GODOX MoveLink Mini 2) Fulaim X5 3) Comica Vimo C3 4) Synco p2 Which one has the best sound recording quality in your opinion?
Godox VIRSO and Fulaim X5. And both feature independent recorders and without the receiver being on or involved at all. GET the ones the feature RECORDERS. Wireless only is not good enough. The VIRSO and X5 both have it.
Is the function of placing a magnet on the back still valid? You recommend me to change the Movelink II for this new unit. Today June 26 they are already on sale.
Where did you find it?? It’s not on BH or Amazon. Yes, I prefer this unit since it’s got a recorder. On air, the audio is always compressed, on the recorder side, it’s uncompressed. And you can definitely notice a higher quality fuller sound and higher resolution.
I would not recommend putting it on to a microphone and introducing more frequencies around an already messy spectrum you're actually contributing to the problem of dropouts/interference
@@puzzlemanproductions what dropout? What interference? You’ll be using the recorder only, no wireless involved. And the wireless part, you realize these units are not UHF like the DJ’s mics are, and work in a completely different spectrum, right?
@@ArtVideoProductions So from my experience in the field and trialling many different brands and many different options even some that offer standalone recordings even when your receiver is turned off it is still hunting for a signal when it is hunting for a signal you are on the 2.4 gigahertz spectrum and usually that is what a DJ's microphone is on as well. When they are around the same frequency that is when you can cause interference.
Any model that has a built in recorder is a go. On my units, I never use the wireless side of it. Only for scratch audio. But the final audio will be always from the recorder piece as the audio is UNCOMPRESSED. And you DON’T even need to power the receiver. The recorder works independently and by themselves. Power it on and press REC. I even miked a bride with it.

Sounds ok (6 out of 10)...but it DOES NOT record internally, which may very well be a huge deal breaker and its not even 32 bit float

that mute button its wayyyy to dangerous.. guess you need to put it on the neck and the person move his head and mute it... wow..
That’s correct. If you sneeze, it’s muted.
Shouldn’t the lav sound better but it doesn’t :(
No it does NOT, and the same applies to all brands with these wireless little boxes. But the built in mic on these are fantastic!!
