I think "Innovative" was the word you were looking for Pete when you were describing Paul from PRS! I am not a PRS guy but I would definitely buy that semi hollow asap at that price if I lived in the UK!!!

@ Most other brands are more expensive down under, but PRS seem to be keeping a lid on it. Like a Gibson 60s standard is £1800 in the UK, but is $5000aud. Whereas a Silver Sky SE is $1200aud and about £700. Which is more reflective of the currency rate.
I like the PRS SE but the pick ups are so hot, I find it unusable for songs with moderate gain. Even if you turn the gain down on the amp and pedal it's just hard to control the sensitivity of the pickup.
Sometimes you have a lot of things on stock that does not sell as predicted. You sell them with almost no profit.or under to 'defrost' money laying on warehouse. You never see massive price drops on items that sell themselve in no time. Selling without profit is a risk of running business.
They make hell of a lot year's ago my mate brought yamaha sg 2000 some how he saw what price it was brought in for peanuts to what he paid for it and also he had a discount because he was at the yamaha school of music

PRS is discounting SEs 15% on their own right now.
Typical markup in North America is 40%. It costs money to own a store, carry stock and pay wages and benefits you know.
