I just bought one and it arrives today. I'm very excited. It's my first guitar at age 45! I've wanted a guitar since I was about 7 years old and just kept finding reasons for not doing it. No more!

Hearing that being played is reassuring. I bought a 2023 model to learn on, and later had doubts about my choice. (Mine has rough fret ends.) I've never seen anyone teaching online with beginner gear; that's a good idea.

I just bought a new Mexican made Fender Telecaster followed a couple of weeks later by purchase of a Chinese made Squire Affinity with the belly cut. The Fender came with an annoying buzz on the high E string that my amateur, but experienced, setup skills didn't fix on the initial try. The Squire Affinity, on the other hand, came perfectly setup with low action, no string buzz and a superior first impression verses the fender for significantly less $. The Squire is so nice and satisfying that I ordered the new Affinity Flamed Maple Top in Mocha. It is equally good in quality and playability as the first Affinity. So, bottom line, my latest impression is suck up your brand pride and save some $. The Affinity is as good as this reviewer says it is. Thank you for your impartial review.

I bought an Affinity Strat and have owned high end guitars I have to say this Affinity sets up better than any guitar I have. Only thing I don’t like is the Big Headstock, not my thing but a tele is no different….getting a Tele next.

I've never been "into" the telecaster look, and generally don't care for a "twangy" sound in a guitar. This one sounded great - I have guitars that are 10x this cost but I'm tempted to try one of these at some point.

The bridge PU is also full useable for distorted/crunchy Rock/Metal Chord stuff. Nothing harsh, sounds very humbucker-esque. Never found that on a Tele before. Thank you for this good video!

I just purchased the exact same - Affinity, white Telecaster from Fender and appreciate your thoughts here! Mine arrives in a few days, excited, my first tele, I started on a strat, it was Affinity and I suspected all along it was built by the trainer, it was flawless, held tune, smooth frets on the neck and experts went on about it. I subbed and have vids if you'd like to see how I'll be using the new tele. Thanks and best wishes!!

Thanks, Korey! Just found your channel and have this exact tele on my next purchase list. I hear often these are referred to as “beginner” guitars. I would disagree. Any level of guitarist would have a place in their arsenal for Squires. As I age, I’ve become more cost conscious and both Squier and Epiphone brands fill the bill for me at a fraction of the cost of their respective big brother brands. I’d also argue that the quality of these brands are just as good, and sometimes better, than their more pricey counterparts.
Great video and will be watching more of your content in the future!

Very impressed of your guitar skills. I bought a blue affinity 2021 from the Indonesian manufacturer. No issues with setup. Perfect to play. But the neck pickup produced a bad sound. I updated my affinity with tone rider trt2 pickups. A game changer. Now the guitar is perfect. Only thing for improvement are my playing skills 😜

love the props you give this budget guitar - obviously your years are being poured into every note, but it goes to show that Fender is making their best budget guitars ever in the Squier line. I still think they need a $300-$400 ACTUAL Fender out there instead of the ridiculously priced Player Series as their first entry. Bring back the Standard Series!
