I agree with you, this film hit all of the notes and scratched that Evil Dead itch for me. I hope Lee gets to do more installments. I know Sam and Bruce are creating a template…an Evil Dead “Bible” that will give future filmmakers a roadmap to follow, so I have nothing but great thoughts about the future of this franchise.
Agree with just about all these points. Only thing I disagree with is I think the Bruce cameo was ash, and that he fucked up the spell in AoD and didn’t sleep long enough sorta like an opposite to the original ending. But outside of that, every word is solid. I also agree people who say “this doesn’t feel like evil dead” DO NOT know evil dead at its core
After rewatching it .. I still feel 2013 was better but I'm not saying this one was bad ...idk but I watched it 3 times n theateres and saw a cam version and idk why but the cam felt grittier and it worked so mayb I like gritty .Ness.. but I do feel it was descent... evil dead rise.. I just wanted more.. like omg scenes.. but I give it a 6.5 solid ... evildead 2013 7.0 I want, more regardless I love every entry and tv show I think it can go a direction that can be better than all before this is my favorite franchise its going strong
Well then ur more a fan of ash Then the story and world built around him it sounds like. Unlike Jason Michael and freddy, the evil is the book, not ash. And unlike James bond, the franchise isn't named after him. Bruce aged out and it's over. We even get a cartoon which is cool, but its over. I prefer this to trying to recast the character.
