    I absolutely love what you’ve done to Doug, and what you’ve done WITH Doug.
    Your final walk around, coinciding with the last year of production of the 500’s...I don’t know man, it’s almost poetic. The end of an era.
    I’ll be following whatever comes next, every step of the way.
    Take care, ride safe 👍🏼

    To put $1500ish into this $6k beauty is nothing, and especially with such a great result. Many thanks for all your videos on each of your mods mate, a lot of what I’ll be doing to mine will be based on what you and Doug have been through. Take care, all the very best on your next project and many thanks from us all.

    I’ve taken a lot of inspiration with what you have done with Doug and done most of the same mods with my classic 500 in military green. Even used your videos as a step by step tutorial especially with the piggyback ecu! Just got to get the 19 tooth sprocket then I believe I will be done building my bike. Thank you iridetas for making excellent videos about Doug and looking forward to the next build!

    I bought a 350 classic a few months ago and knew I would have to put a bigger front sprocket than the stock 16T. I went 18T and it was way better gearing. Saw a 19T on ebay for AUD$34 and thought Id give it a go. Perfect now ..... comfortable at 90 to 100 now ..... but on hills I do have to change down ..... but even then its a sensible gear change now.

    A shout-out from Brazil! Thank you for the videos. I bought my Classic 500 about a month ago and your videos have been extremely helpful as I mod mine. I love what you've done to Doug. Almost makes me wish I'd bought the Chrome version instead of the Squadron Blue that I got. Having followed all your vids, watched many of them more than once (and having done some of these mods myself based off your suggestion), I really thought this final vid would only summarize everything I thought I knew about Doug... and yet, still a couple very handy tricks and insights (should I have expected any less?) . All the best, mate. Seeing this wrap up felt like the heartbreaking final episode of a great TV show. Look forward to the next chapter.

    My Thanks IRideTas. I picked up my new 2018 Classic 500 in Blue (not the Airforce Blue military model) in October of 2019. I was able to get 500 Km’s to the 1st oil change before it was too cold to ride anymore. I may live on southern Canada but ice and snow are far from nice and safe to ride in. The bike spent all winter in my living room. With Covid, spring riding has been pretty light until recently. I have made a few mods but nothing like you have done with Doug yet. I am running about 75% of run-in and I am starting to try some hard run-in rides. Vibrations are a lot less than new but it still has a lot of shakes. I tell my friends it does not vibrate. It is from India

    Hi IRidetas congrats for the bike, the chrome one is my preferred.
    I've bought a Classic 500 2016 second hand. No ABS drum rear Brake. EURO3 with some modifications: Hitchcoks kit 535 cc, Oil cooler, free flow filter, Dynojet V5 and a custom exhaust, but aesthetically the bike hasn't changed much. Thanks for all the vids you done with Doug, Badger followed suit with quite a few of the same mods :) Just this weekend I had a look at the rubber "snorkel" that sits at the back of the air filter box - it looked to me as the main restriction to air intake so I made a little mod to prevent it narrowing even more due to suction and make is a bit wider for air intake - big improvement on throttle response and pickup. I might go for the pedestrian slicer as well and as you know - I got the Carberry plate ready to mount at the next oil change.

    • @iRidetas

      It seems to respond big time to removing or changing that snorkel cheers mate lookingbforward to updates on badger!

      @@iRidetas Today I got rid of the snorkel entirely - even better pickup. Unfortunately no camera handy today, but I got my GPS log to show I got Badger up to 141km/h! I'm not going to be in the habit of driving her that speed for sure, but it feels like something to boast about :)

      iRidetas I’d be interested to hear how that goes. The forum chatter is that the most recent 500 engines have lower vibration out of the box, due to the new production line. Certainly the handlebars on mine would provide the same reduction in vibrations as the mods you made with the bracing bar. It’s winter in Oberon, and daytime temps above 10oC are getting rarer, but I’ll see how the bike runs in come August.

    This has been a really great series and although I'm probably NOT now going to make this my next bike, because if even with all the mods you can only cruise at 110kph/68mph that is just not enough for U.K. Highways. However if I ever accrue enough money for two bikes it will be at the front of the queue. Another reasonable point is; this is how they should have come from the factory. Finally have you dyno'ed Doug as I'm guessing with the mods he now makes in the 30s for BHP?

    I don't understand the negativity towards the plate.
    I installed it , i feel a little vibrations on the first two gears, but from third i simply feel no especially at the revs above 3.5k.
    At the same time used ngk sparkplugs, the bike has another level of pickup from 3rd gear 2.5 k RPM.
    i also changed oil to a semi synthetic one and the bike runs on butter.
    Looking to get a windshield today from carbon racing as above 80kmph the wind resistance fatigues the body too much.
    The only downside i feel about the bike is there is no power after 110-120kmph. The bike takes a lot of time to reach 135 .
    I have no idea what to do here.

    • @iRidetas
      @iRidetas  3 роки тому +1

      With all the work my top speed is still 135. Just gets there quicker than the glacially slow stock bike. By product of high torque single. All the power down low and little top end. Could be worked on but talking some significant investment!

      @qmanzo 3 роки тому

      @iridetas hey, something strange has happened.
      Post ~300kms putting the vibration plate(with oil change and new spark plugs), all the vibrations returned back!

      The loose fitting in the first place got loosen more over 300kms and failed the purpose of the plate.

      Fingers crossed!
