I bought this car 2 days ago. I drive mostly in suburban NJ and Manhattan. The ride is the smoothest and quietest I have ever been in. While I am not a hige hybrid fan, the lexus is an exception. In sport mode, the car moves really quickly. I junked an Acura TL to move up to the ES 300h and am happy with my decision thus far.
It is a sweet car, but wait until you drive a Lexus LS. Then you really know what a smooth and quiet drive means, but of course, it is drinks a lot of gas.
+Carl “Reasonable Man” Sanders what does fuel grade and ride quality have to do with each other? A liquid in a tank has nothing to to with a mechanical suspension.
3:50 , not a lean burn engine but an Atkinson cycle engine, which I'm 95% sure still keeps the stoichimetric fuel:air ratio but reduces pumping losses by keeping the Intake valve open a bit past bottom dead center. Hopefully true lean burn will come back in 2015 or so in combo with Atkinson cycle for a truly innovative engine
I’m getting a 2013 es300h, very low miles. Going to have it inspected. It’s funny that I have to watch an ancient video like this to get information about a car I’m getting. I’m not paying these new car prices at these interest rates though. Funny how things like drive modes were a novel idea back in 2012. 😂
Not sure what "lane keep" is, but it does have front and side radar. I bought mine on the 9th and it will often beep to alert me to getting close to things in my garage when I'm parking it on the front, sides, and back (in addition to the backup camera). It does have blinds-spot indicators on each side mirror.
I own a 2009 Lexus ES 350 Regular Gas engine. I got a loaner from Lexus which was their new 2016 Lexus ES 350 which felt like it was a completely different car. It felt down on power, steering wasn't as responsive, and most of all coming from one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven (My Lexus ES350) The New ES350 felt a lot stiffer and trying too hard to be sporty while also TRYING to be luxurious. I wouldn't recommend the New ES350.
@LifeofZain Great review. I'm all about soft riding cars..having grown up with old school Lincolns & Cadillac's. I will now look for a used LS or ES based on your opinion. I've heard the 04-06 LS's were the best made..so will start there. Thanks again.
@@BrownDieselWagon I think I will look for an 04-06 LS..which I read is the best built LS to date and has a soft ride. For me a soft ride is crucial due to having a bad back. My current car..a MB S Class..kills my back on bad roads.
Just bought this car, the 2014, and it’s loud inside, would expect vacum sealed like a Benz, but for a luxury car, I wouldn’t have bought this car new for nearly 50k to get this wind noise inside
There's only one problem with these type of car: They overprice them waaaaay too much. It's bad enough they are an overpriced Camry on wheels, but with a hybrid on top of that. I dunno if this ar will attract many people because of the price sticker shock, but I" have been wrong before though so ya never know..

Rush Limbaugh
I guess not a lot since this car is a hybrid, it should consume a lot less than the others.

Surprisingly; this car does really shine in person. I would recommend checking it out at the dealer.
Love this guy's reviews lol. Can't say he doesn't have an opinion one way or the other.
Luxurious sedan with early 90s CRX gas mileage.... gotta love it!
It looks way better than before!

The ES shares it's platform with the 13 Avalon.
I'm pretty sure it's because you're using a seat heater in summer weather....
Seems like a bargain now that it's not $39 million.
Like! Not for the car, but for the review
Aren't the new es based off the avalon?
yes, the 2014 and newer models are based on the avalon
But they look like camrys.
Actually 2013 starts the Avalon frame platform!
I looked at buying the new ES and hated the ride now. Like you said they are trying for a sportier ride now and that is not what I want in a Lexus.
correction: it's 39,700.00 at 6:07. not 39 millions get your numbers right

I did the same. Bought it earlier this year. Rides smooth and quiet! LEXUS QUALITY!
How have the batteries fared after about a decade? That’s always my primary concern with used hybrids.
Nope, passat use audi's technology, 300 and charger is the same car and CTS is a rwd car but malibu is fwd
Like the car.
It's on sale now; get your self one before it goes back to 39,000,000
The guy’s wearing a suit and shirt and he’s complaining it’s hot lol
So he was dead and still bought a German car, AMAZING! When im dead ill buy the car of my dreams.
Its to bad the ES250 doesnt not come to America for some reason
I love the intro song
Is it still 39 million dollars?
Looks retro.
That CD slot looks like it's a Cassette player!!! lol
how much it cost ??
Would it be possible CNET to review the 2014 Lexus ES350 as I am in the market for purchasing one.
10/10 thumbnail
"No real gears in there" wat.. But it does have a regular planetary gear system with 1 gear..
I wish I had his job!
Love watching these videos good host
Anyone know the music at 4:27?
tape player?
Re-Upload?
I second that!!
Nice car
Does it offer lane keep and front radar?

Calvin Wong Probably not. If that feature does exist you will see the lane departure button on the steering wheel.
There's CD player and no tape player? WTF Lexus!?!
Bruh just tell me how fast it can go
wrong engine in the right car, what happened to the RX400h engine?
the last thing they want to screw up is 4banger in a Lexus ES
Good god...$39000 BASE?!?! *faints*
One day....I'll have that but then I wont care about how much I spend on gas
Why reupload? I like my 39 million dollar car!
He keeps saying "trapezoid" wrong
I so completely hate that front grille.
Odd looking indeed b
Not a very attractive car. The lines and shape doesn't flow well. It's ashame I love Lexus! They are the most reliable luxury brand.
How would you compare it to the Hs250h
Scare the be--jesus out of me.
reupload to correct the 39 million dollar goofup!!
Unrefined ride and road noise? In a Lexus? No thanks..next. 👎

LifeofZain it's because it's not based on the camry anymore, it's based on the avalon

@@BrownDieselWagon But isn't the Avalon supposed to be a much softer riding car than the Camry?
@@Nightbird. XD this is a blast from the past. Also the Avalon is now its own platform, but yeah it is supposed to be a more a comfy camry

Lexus could do better than this.
Accord copy-paste much?
James Brown nothing like it.......

Hogwild lol
This guy complains too much.
"Probably a power inverter thing. My ears are pretty damn good."
What an annoying kook.
looks like a poorly-destined is300
YAWNNNN
Just looks cheap and not well thought out.
make some breaks during your speech for god's sake.
レクサスは品質は良いが、車としての魅力は無い。走りやデザイン、その車の持つ良さが本当に無い
まず、最近のトヨタは見た目が終わってるし何をしたいのか解らないメーカーだ。
this car is kinda crap for a luxury car, its like a suit up camry

Yup,you were WRONG again 4 years later.
nasty looking. about as boring as a cab or rental. how anyone could overlook germans and buy this is beyond me.
