hi steve, its called 'hot melt' in the trade, and it takes 15-30 mins to be a decent cool near solid state. putting units down on the floor too early causes the unit to step.

it is heat insulation to a certain extent, in the winter it keeps heat in the property and vice versa during summer months.
double glazing is energy efficient, and security is improved also.
no glass is unbreakable.

I remember when they used black silicone and you had wait days for it seen one made last year was surprised they use black tar dry in minutes

I always assumed that the air is sucked out of double glazed units to prevent condensation and also to reduce the thermal bridging?

Shame that so many of you stone age people don't know what dou ke glazing is.
Triple glazing is standard in Germany.

How do those guys ensure there's not a fingerprint or stain on the inside before sealing the glass?

The machine behind is a glass washer. Finger tip the sides from there to the table, job done...

Looks like hot melt. Hot melt only takes minuets to cure. When using poly it's takes usually 2 hours

shawn your reply offered no answer.. 3bdura7man it all depends on what glass you are using and also if you are using argon gas double glazed can be 2 different type of glass be it laminated, soft coat or standard clear glass there are many different types that offer different results also various different thicknesses.

that's for if you are doing units to in old houses that's call a flexi space unit what they are doing its called an aluminium spacer unit
