I think a better comparison would have been a choice grade beef rib eye and the bison ribeye. This is a significant fat discrepancy between the prime ribeye and the bison ribeye

I'm now salting my steaks an hour plus beforehand, definitely works. Also agree avocado oil is the best I've used. Not tried bison, will have see if I can find some. A good point someone once made, there is a reason we all eat beef, pork, lamb and chicken, our ancestors found they tasted the best!
Have you tested grain Vs grass fed beef? We can get grass fed longhorn here, not cheap, aroun £9 for a good thick rib eye steak but very, very nice.
I also find great steak always tastes best cooked on a very hot barbeque. Currently using Sekelbos hardwood, cooks very well.
Enjoying your work keep it up 👍

I really like bison and its nutritional profile. One of the comments said buffalo and there is a difference. Buffalo are indigenous to Africa and Asia and Bison is in N and S America. They actually look quite different as well. Canadian Bison is graded A-D, A1 being the highest. Americans do refer to Bison as American Buffalo in any event. I also love Avocado Oil for its high heat point and high monounsaturated fats. I think a choice cut of red meat and bison in two different pans would be more comparable. Love your videos.

The flavor of the bison and the cow would depend on how the particular rancher finishes the animal before slaughter. Purely grass fed will have a much sweeter flavor profile, and many people aren’t accustomed to that. Grain fed is richer without the sweetness. Since many people prefer the taste profile of grain fed, ranchers who raise their herds primarily on grass will finish them off on grains before slaughter to make the product more marketable. To do a fair taste test you’d need to know the finish and buy two similar products. Also, as has been mentioned, cook them in separate pans.

    • @ntnsty
      @ntnsty 3 роки тому

Ok but doubtful anyone wants to eat “cow” steak. Technicality. Grade A beef is never cut from a cow carcass, but a well finished steer or heifer “beef”.

Bison and the domestic cow belong to the same family (Bovidae) and are genetically similar. So it's no surprise they taste exactly the same because I had em before and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. Except bison I think is much more leaner with less fat because most are free roaming eating fresh green grass.

  • @Jeff-ql3tg

Try cooking the bison 5 to 7 degrees cooler than the beef and 2 minutes longer than beef. Cooking at a lower and longer gives time for the long buffalo muscles to break sown.

I raise the #1 best meat on earth #1 by far method #1 by far tame intelligent cooperative dog like breed can be raised indoors.
Chicken = world leading meat cuz most dont have acreage& hens can be raised indoors.
3 of (my) hens generate calories of 1 black angus steer in 5 years. (My world champion birds 77.8g ave. eggs)
Cows cant bake cake bread & cookies either nor can chicken give milk.
I had 40 breeds birds. Jerseys fantastic best chicken I found by far.
    Egyptian Fayoumis:
    My 1hen absolutely struck me.
So I bred Fayoumi hen with Jersey &result was brilliant = Fayo Giant = worlds best chicken by far.
Satans chicken "Standard of Perfection" is... SATANS.
    CMPLETE LUNACY.
    His kids ruined chickens.
S.O.P deliberately engineered ruin birds u can see this.
    By just looking@ birds photo.
F.G. was born from 1 little Fayoumi hen just had that look.
U ever seen alpha Canadian giant wolf from 3' away seperated by nothing but thin air?
Well I have they just resonate like sunlight&heat goes right thru u.
Fayoumis chicken lived wild 1,000's years till 2day still Egypt.
Dont have 2tell u which is new improved chicken photo.
    Is obvious.
These Fayo Giants arent thbest chicken in thworld but rather both thbest chicken in thworld AND raised on a method destroys ancient Wagyu Japanese beef masters. My birds beyond wagyu grade in that my Gen1's generated 1.5 lb fat per bird 5.5 months& lay gigantic eggs thus massive muscular chicks thru diet 50% fatty wild organic grown meats (mostly fresh gutted road kill/pest grade fish. (Catfish 40% fat) = reduced feed cost 60%.
*Requires labor harvest/process meat feed bones&all.
Wagyu grade beef = 21% fat my birds 30%.
Cows: Store bought 5-12% fat grass fed 5 to 7%.
I offered 100 locals FREE CHAMPION MEAT BIRD they utterly refused. They said raising chickns doesnt wrk.
10 took them, they all failed @raising them. Only 1person hatched a couple eggs.
Do it right or it WONT WORK...
I weighed my birds at 4 to 5 months window:
My birds 12,000 calories 6months vs 6,000 calories hatchery chicken breeds.
My Jersey's lay nearly evry day huge jumbo egg internet calls Jersey's poor egg production.
Breed I raise of gigantic chicken is labeled poor meat &egg production in Satans google. Hatcheries = Satans kids. Yahweh told us 75% earth NOT HUMAN = TARES. They are demons. (Literal. Yahweh told us Satan uses Hadron Collider 2put demons in clone bodies) Selling u snake oil chickens. (These demons dont know they arent human. Satan has memory downloader eraser.)
    Fact:
2kids eating same diet 1kid twice as big. It's DNA.

3 of MY hens = calories of1 black angus steer 5 years.
So far, not1 person asked how i feed THESE chickens.
Satan engineers ALL YOUR CHICKEN FEEDS
RATS FED SATANS FLOUR DIED FASTER THEN those starved bcuz satans store flour INNOCUOUS he squeezes thcells dead in giant presses &thru aging.. Rats &chickens REFUSE eat store bakery goods if given a choice.
33% INNOCUOUS SEEDCOAT in chicken feed, &those rats developed ALL OUR MODERN ILLS. Fueling billion dollar chicken medications industry.
    DIGESTION saps MASSIVE LIFE FORCE
Thats why I grind or sprout all my corn in2 mush.
Gen II Weight in results 5 to 6months:
My Gen II alphas averaging 5.75lbs @ ave. 5.5 months.
Bigger then ADULT garbage barnyard chickens bcuz Satans kids ruined them with pretty ideal feather/size weight blue ribbon show "standards." Satans boys calls this "standard of perfection." No, it stifles true wisdom in DNA programing. Satan HATES raising food money ONLY 4food.
At 6month slaughter, expect 6.75lbs with 1.5 POUND of fat. No other heirloom chicken can remotely compare.
These are 4premium bloods of Jersey giant crossed. Satans kids say JG poor meat bird. Ludicrous. Hatcheries &forums = satans kids run. Literal. Yahweh told us 75% earth NOT HUMANS = demons.(Biblical TARES)
All demons are digital, A.I. systems computer controlled so DONT subscribe Google.
Don't subscribe them by far thsystems I employ 4raising chicknz = king of king thchasm is - that wide&deep &bad.
Barnyard chickens have almost maybe 2oz fat. My heavy birds? 1.5LB fat = 1lb superiour organ fat &feel like bowling balls. Chefs love organ fat + candles, soap, salves, lubricants.
Meat = 68 calorie per oz. Chicken fat 255 cal. per oz. vs beef 190 cal.
    @6Months barnyard chicken ave. 4.5lb 2oz. fat. = 5,406 cal. Total.
    @6months my 6.5lb bird = 6,528 cal meat, 6,120 fat = 11,560 cal. Total.
There massive feet &ultra calm demeanor make them brutally superiour, efficient scraping DEEP mulch bugs my 10 birds PLOWED my entire oak forest leaves far as eye can see.
Off griders have no clue how vital OIL is = impossible 2obtain without chcknz.
Look @ thbodies of people around u supermarket oils deadly poison vs ridiculous healthy chicken fat. No spice/flavoring can compare 2chicken fat/broth/renderings. Read WESTON PRICE website.
    1. McDonald's built empire on animal fat, their fries tasted ridiculously superior in th70's. (Now they use poison oils.)
    2. Human body will begin DIE in ONE WEEK with zero fats. (Organ failure)
    3. Chicken fat = 23% omegas.
    4. These calm long life span birds mature up2 25lbs in 2.5 years.
    5. I raised 30 species barnyard birds. It was hell. Horrible tough tasteless meat IF u could pull thfeathers thbirds themselves wr like demons. Constant issues.
Update Gen 2 5months&12 days = 7.0lbs 36 inches tall these long lived calm birds can reach 25lbs @3 years age their massive legs turn over heaps of forest debris 4extremely superiour foraging.

    16 5 to 6 month old birds plus 6 adults = 50lb Corn 9/10
    50lb corn 9/21 (11 days)
    50lb corn 10/4 (13 days)
Alpha blue zip tie Gen2 12/4

*****************Yahweh xplain 2us 2012 DIET put more people in h*ll last 60 years then anything else.
    Specifically low fat& vegetarian diet.
80% humans today = Satans hive mind cmputer chipped tare race nephilem spirits (demons) placed in flesh with Hadron Collider perpetuate low fat diets & veggies. Satan uses them as false reality.
Veggies given 2 interrogation victims = weakens brain make u looney tunes.
Body require more energy digest greens then fuel u even get.
Arm chair google warriours who never once set foot on a farm 5star review Satans black goo google.
Humans begin2die 1 week no fats. (Organs& brain failure.)
Bible say well oiled dishes food of kings.
During depression they died constantly from RABBIT DISEASE bcuz rabbits had no fat.
Weston Price found natives who gorged on rich fat & oils bad zero cavities diseases cancers we have.
Natures fats & oils made by Yahweh. Satan lies so people wind up in h*ll trick u in2 think fats poison.
Reality is his poisonous PROCESSED FATS are poison.
Vegetarians go BROKE b4 even getting there. These people buy food least calories per dollar spend vast FORTUNE on so called organic products & must ingest 20 dollar bills 2still not have enough strength 2function.
    Food is like BURNING MONEY.
    Buy MOST calories per dollar.
Do not buy sugar air &water.
Lol there 83,000 calories in 50lb bag $12 deer corn.
Satans permie crowd give ZERO thought 2fats oil. You can NOT find oils in nature anymore& when Satan enforce chip u BETTER HAVE CHICKENS bcuz 2 hens under each arm give u 600 fat rich eggs a year while your friends die eating bugs hiding in tents woods from Satans police.
