    It’s great to see that you are getting good use out of my old Prijon Yukon Expedition. I enjoyed watching your river adventures. This trip is exactly what this boat was designed for. I got myself a P&H Scorpio which handles Lake Michigan waves a bit better than the Yukon did.

      Richard!!! Hey brother! Great to hear from you! Scorpio is a great boat!! We are so thankful for the Yukon. You truly maintained a pristine rig! Maybe we can get up your way again for a paddle.

    Your ability to portray the experience of paddling this river through your camera and eyes is uncanny. It is like I’m back on this river again. The music so we’ll portrays the inner experience of the movement of water and wonder of the overall river channel experience. You seem an amateur yet you bring me to the river as if you are a world recognized cinematographer.
    I can only imagine the amount of work required to film, save, edit, set up, breakdown, and finally produce this work. Most if being done while camping in remote locations.
    Thanks for your vision, creative talent, and the persistence and fortitude to pull off experiences of this quality.
    I’m a follower now and will slowly relish watching my way through your body of work. Can’t wait to see some of the rivers you filmed that I missed in paddling career, I know it will be as close as I can get to actually paddling them.

    So we’ll done on your safety evaluation. Modern technology brings so many rewards and support. Early in my paddling time we got washed off of the gravel bar we were camping on at night on the Buffalo. We lost a little gear and there were little to no consequences other than a quick and very wet education. Fortunately for all, the paddling community is better educated, informed and connected now, so as to operate as you do. Well Done.

      Wow. The middle of the night flood occurrence is not a stranger to us for sure! Happened on the Greenbrier in WV, as well as the Current in Missouri. Your absolutely correct in regard to natures class room. Lol

    Some of those shots were just stunning with color contrasts of the stone and water and greenery! Plus add a waterfalls here and there!! You guys had a great camp site to ride that one out plus it looked like the sun came out for a beautiful stay put day! Again I am lovin' those drone shots! Jeff

      Thank you Jeff! It was a good camp to be stationary in. However, we noticed that a small creek behind us had begun to rise. We came close to crossing it and heading for higher ground; had the water not begun to recede.

    Floated and dragged from dillards ferry to Shipp. Water was about 2.8. Low but floatable. Should be changed to low but dragable. First week of June 2022. Do you remember what the level was when you first started your trip. Thanks

    • @AVAJourneys
      @AVAJourneys  2 роки тому

      It's been a bit, I will need to reference notes on the water level and get back to you. I do recall it as just within the recommended floating conditions, according to the report at Ponca.

    • @AVAJourneys
      @AVAJourneys  2 роки тому

      Levels at Ponca were right around 2.8.

      It certainly surprised us. We were fortunate. Had a gut feeling we should pull the boats up the bank and into the campsite. Definitely a good decision.

    Great videos! Where was you put in and take out? Also, something I always wonder with river kayaking, how do you get back to your car when you're done?

    • @AVAJourneys
      @AVAJourneys  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! We put in at Ponca and took out at Rush Landing. We generally use a shuttle service to transport the vehicle.

    What dates were you on the river? Looks like still early spring, based on what foliage hasn't come out yet.

    • @AVAJourneys
      @AVAJourneys  Рік тому

      Sometime in early spring… April-May. Don’t recall the exact dates as often as we travel. The flood was a bit of a surprise, even though we knew there'd be rain.

      Correct. A special use permit is required, as well as part 107 compliance for commercial application.
