Stay humble, respect the bike and learn as much as you can. Follow bikers you trust to show you the way and not race off and you will gain the confidence needed. Get that rear tyre replaced it’s done. Can’t go wrong with a gsxr im on my 3rd, had a 600 then 750 and now 1000. When the dry weather arrives you will be loving it
Great example of the GSXR 750 you have there,when the weathers better there's a nice stretch of twisty road that's perfect for a bike like yours,you have to get of the A1 northbound at St Neot's and take the B645, it goes through Kimbolton and all the way on to Higham Ferrers.Miles of twisty roads,I used to use it a lot and it was very popular with bikers but I have not been down it for some time so it could have the dreaded speed cameras on by now.

Little advice for you buddy you turn right 1:54 👉🏻 command the right side of the road before turning otherwise you run the risk of getting wiped out. No hate mate obviously you are a new rider and we all make mistakes especially to begin with so just offering a little advice 👍🏻

I bought an R6 as my first bike fresh out of passing test, i looped it trying to hill start out of a junction it's still in my garage as a remember to be careful these things will throw you off any chance they get. Be steady with the throttle and don't hold the rear brake too long like i did :)
@@Down-2-Ride no i repaired it mostly just waiting on ebay to find parts its a 2005 so they don't come up too often, at least not in good shape. Lesson learnt though as i got off lightly with just a bruised ass and ego :) maybe a sports bike wasn't the best plan for a first time bike in my case
This may help ya .. if your wrist are hurting , your rear sets can probably be lowered .. ..my old GSXR1000 k8 had those adjustments …also in slow traffic, if you seat closer to the tank you will take more weight off the wrist too .. as for fuel gauge .. most tanks do 100-130miles .. when you fill up , reset the trip and wait till the light comes on.. you then know how many miles you can do .. just need to reset the trip every fill up... .. enjoy 👍

@ I know not all models had this but my K8 GSXR had a few different choices of mounting holes you could bolt them too which can make a big difference.. but you will get used to the more you ride it and relax more on it.. 750 GSXR’s are great bikes .. that’s was my first bike when I started riding but it was a K4

The ache will be a bit of tension as well as you get used to riding a bigger bike. I used to return home with sore shoulders from being tense. Now im good as you learn to relax @Down-2-Ride

Don't have your arms dead straight when cornering, make sure they are bent from the elbows, you will probably need to lean your upper body down a bit👍it will help the bike turn into bends easier. Giving you a follow now, cheers😁
if you get some good tyres like road 6s, some ebc cintered brakes and slowly feel out the bike you will have a lot of fun, I have a k5 600 and it is a blast

This is like me. I passed early December and bought a bike before Christmas. I sat on gsxrs and a cbr600rr, but decided against it because I thought it would be too much strain on my arms and back ( I’m in my 40’s). I ended up getting an Xsr 900, and I can’t be happier. It’s stupid quick for what it is. Taking it steady at the moment.

Really nice bike. I've only been riding 3 months, got a cb1000ra. The more you ride, the more the confidence will come, and the trust will develop in what you know the bike is capable of. I was the same on roundabouts, still am to a degree. But you can control the jerky throttle with the clutch, try slipping the clutch as you're cornering and use that to control the speed.

Alright mate Lovly bike take it easy in this weather ;). I just brought an R1 myself week before christmas had it out 3 times, your braver than me haha. Im local if you ever want someone to ride with hit me up. My Old man Taught the met Police how to ride, rode for 25+ years only came off once and that was before he made 3 rules here they are Rule 1: Look at everything ( condition of the road, pot holes, is it new tarmac is it old. do you know the car infront or behind is aware your there? are they on their phone etc?) Look at everything. Rule 2: Always ride within your capabillity and the bikes. ( If you cant ride 100mph but the bike can doesnt mean you should. and if you can ride 100mhp but the bike cant doesnt mean you should) Rule 3: always have an escape route ( if you have a lorry infront of you, behind you and to the side of you, your a dead man. always make sure where are you put yourself on the road if ANY THING was to happen you can escape. trying to emergancy stop might not be your best option so having an escape route to get out of there asap will save your life. ^^ :) hope this helps

Mate, that's a car tyre 😂 Looks like you need a sports touring tyre that can handle wet and cold, like Roadsmart IV; In all honesty insanely jealous of your gsxr750 especially if I were to own it as a beginner, you won't even know how good it is until god forbid you sell it and regret it for the rest of your life; Take it slow esp. without TC but keep pushing yourself, ride the crap out of it to rid the engine of carbon deposits, hopefully the roads are dry once in a while; please eventually take it on track

It has completely lost its shape get yourself some nice new tires and riding is gonna be a world of a difference. I prefer myself some nice Pirelli Diablo Rosso's 4 they're just more race then streeet give a fuck load of grip they just wear down somewhat quick or get urself some good road 6 since you're just starting of so u wont use the full tire anyway and they wear down slower and have more grip in rainy weather :)
