Hey, nice simple set-up for sailing. I notice you don't have a furling set up. Did you just roll it closed when you don't want it flapping around? I'm debating if i need a furler setup or not.
Thanks,no i never got a furling set up,rolled up by hand when i was done,my advice would be give it a shot first and make sure you like the sailing part before perfecting it,i like it but i barely use it,i usually dont fish far enough from my launch areas that it would be helpful,it is fun though
Can this be mounted while out at sea? i'm wondering if the sail can be rolled around the mast and stored on the side much like the paddle is until it's time to come back from off-shore fishing excursion. At that point, can it be rigged up? I could see it getting in the way, while fishing (when not trolling).
Nope,lol im still a sailing rookie,since then I've gotten stabilizers and went for some more challenging wind speeds,its fun but i use my kayak primarily for fishing,so in application i would use it for trolling or coming back from a far destination
If you position you drive peddles straight up together you will have easier steering, because they will serve as a daggarboard effect.

Absolutely can be and I've done it that way a few times,just make sure the wind is going to be adequate enough otherwise its a waste of space
Furl it around the mast and leave the mast up. Then pull on the main sheet to unfurl it to mske your get away when the wind gets up.
