Molly was always a goofy hyper type of funny or a weird serious type of funny and it showed in all her SNL characters . She was great.
The sideburn years, never forget!!

Man, what’s up with the audience? You could hear a pin drop
She’s rambling , making tons of strange head and body movements that don’t correlate with the story much and keeps stopping mid sentence to throw in random unneeded facts for the story like “she played violin” it disconnects us from listening so we don’t pickup the humour. People go to conan for witty humor so i’m not surprised they didn’t like her stories.
Thats when they had real audience, not paid to laughs

I was a part-time stage actor when I was young, but I usually did the set-building and the sound and lighting during productions. Once, a play was losing one of its major roles because the actor had received a movie proposal. The question was, could the show go on? Every night I had heard the script. I told the production that I could do the role. We did some rehearsals and they said ok.
So the show went on till its scheduled end. I remember that because the star actress asked me about stage fright which she experienced. She always reminds me that I told her, "I don't see the purpose of nerves." Maybe I wasn't so good, but I was sufficient and knew the script.

For those not in the know, this was in the late 90s so she had to speak fast before her interview time ran out not because she was into anything. Molly was great in SNL and underrated (certainly better than one trick ponies like mckinnon).
