  • Today, I will show you how I restore my vintage coach court bag.
Please note that I was willing to deal with any consequences that these cleaning techniques may have caused the bag. If you are worried about any step of this process, proceed with caution.

I use Brasso for the brass, that's the very best you can use it makes the brass as new again. I also use laundry soap in a sink full of warm water. Then I let the bag dry sometimes I use a cool setting on a blowdryer, then after the bag drys I apply the leather lotion using my fingers to melt the lotion in the bag then buff. As new again👍 that's the great thing about these bags, you can wash them in the sink but always, always make sure to use a moisturizer leather lotion after cleaning the bag. I've found it best to use your fingers or blowdryer for the lotion to melt in the bag.
I've never done this to my Court bags because was afraid of water in between the two leathers on the flap, that it would get moldy and not completely dry, I may try this! I've always done all my vintage bags but when it came to the Court was leery.

Those are some great tips, thank you! I have another bag that I may try your technique on later this week ☺

Hello I recently bought the same bag but it had some gold letters in the front for initials. I have been trying to remove it.

I just got a white 9135 leather coach bag, do you know if your cleaning method would make my bag look darker or leave water marks?

This is the first bag I had tried this with, so I am not sure. If you are worried, perhaps trying a small patch in a non-visible area might work! Good luck

Nice video! I have vintage coach that has a lot of scratches and it’s really old. The color is already fading and now the bag has 2 colors - black and like black grey. I already washed it and almost dry. Now I am wondering if leather conditioners is going to fix that discoloration or do I need to buy dye or color repair? Any suggestions or best products to use?

I think it could even it out a little bit, so definitely worth a try! I haven't done any leather dyeing, but I have watched a few videos of a gal restoring (including painting the leather) of LV bags. Look up "Little Mamma's House" on YT - I've really enjoyed her restoration videos and she does use various products, so I hope that helps 😊

@@bicolana1911 I have a crescent bag made in mid-70s to 80s it has scratches when received but after dunking and applying leather conditioner before it totally dries up. It looks amazing now.

hey before watching ur video i was not sure of getting leather clean by soaked it in water i use to think that water would ruin the leather but ur video was so informative.....but still i really need to know more that does soaking in water really do not harm the leather of the bag....

I watched a ton of videos and read a lot of articles before I was brave enough to try. If you are nervous, perhaps just using leather cleaner and conditioner might be best (especially for leather items that are more valuable to you whether sentimental value or monetary value). I am definitely not a professional, and I was able to snag this bag for a really good price, so I was willing to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised!
