I'll sum up a discussion that we did some months ago in a community, when we came to a conclusion on Rod Reiss titan. Some psychological aspects of a subject of Ymir might slightly influence his titan transformation (Ymir wasn't a warrior and she's different from Marcel and Porco, Armin almost looks like a depressed colossal titan, etc.) and his pure titan behavior. But that is not the main reason why Rod Reiss' titan is this monstrosity. The fact that his spine was broken is not important and has nothing to do with it. The fact that he licked the serum instead of injecting it in his arm may have had some sort of influence, but again: it is not the main reason. The reason of this transformation is the special spinal fluid in that syringe: it was labeled "most powerful titan" by Rod. While Isayama never specified what fluid it was, I think we can come to understand it thanks to some subtle clues. So... It's very very very likely that the coward kept Uri or Frieda's spinal fluid in that serum, which was extracted when they were alive! Uri and Frieda turned into pure titans in releatively "peaceful" times inside the walls, so they transformed with a standard serum. But now that Wall Maria has been destroyed by an external threat, Rod thought that he should have given this specific serum to Historia: a serum with Founding Titan spinal fluid! There are actually many clues that can support this idea and honestly, unless Isayama explicitly said otherwise, for me it is so obvious that I'll hardly accept that this is not the truth... 1) Rod worshipped the Founding Titan like a god, so it's likely that he thought that it was the most powerful one (which is not really false, but not in terms of brute force. Rod transformation is also IDENTICAL to Eren's transformation at the end of chapter 122. So this is why Rod's titan is probably just a "pure titan version" of the Founding Titan.

My other theory on how Rod is so big is that he was going to inject Historia with a Collosal Titan serum, after all, the vial in Japanese says "Strongest Titan", and the Collosal Titan is the strongest. Historia then proceeds to slap the syringe away, and break Rod's back. He then crawls to the serum, and gets the size of the Collosal Titan, but something goes wrong. Since Rod is of Royal Blood, he grows larger than he should've, about twice the original size (My proof on how this is true is the Smiling Titan, she's taller than most Titans would be, whuch is not 14 meters, it's less. and she is Dina Fritz, a person of Royal Blood). The reason why Rod crawls? Historia broke Rod's back, so that has to have some sort of impact on the Titan, or possibly, like Dina's smiling face, Rod's back was disfigured. Another reason for Rod's back is that his legs and arms weren't the right size (either from being deformed, or that the place he transformed in (the blue, now _destroyed_ cave) was too tight to hold him, and it squeezed his sorry arms and legs).

I always thought that Rod become so fucking big because he was drinking the serum instead of injecting. And because he is a royal family member his body interacted differently with the serum and transformed him into a different kind of abnormal titan. We never saw somebady drink the serum and this one to be a royal member that can acces the founder POWER. Maybe this 2 factors can produce some insane kind of titans that nobody can even imagine
My theory for the size: The founder Titan is shown to be huge so I think his blood may have a lot of power to it so becoming a Titan would unleash a ton of it. The reason why the others weren't all that big is because I think the serum also has an inhibitor to it. Which would make sense for offering place to be designed to that certain height. How the serum was made I don't know, could be the founder Titan could change it's size going off the picture book.
The founding titan isn't huge, nor did that serum have any "inhibitor" added to it. He was deformed due to ingesting the serum rather than injecting it, and because that was most likely the spinal fluid of the colossal titan.

While all the other titans were injected with the serum, the only titan we've seen deviate from this norm and ingest it instead is the only titan we've seen become abnormal.
If anyone wondering why the titan is so strange looking let me explain. First of all his back was broken before taking the serum which is why he could not stand, he might have been able to still crawl possibly if it wasn’t for the cave being too small for his size(the cave squishing him is also why he looks like a slug) and the gravity weighing down on him due to his sheer mass. Even if his back wasn’t broken and he wasn’t in a small cave it is unlikely he would still be able to stand straight as his limbs are too weak to support all that body weight. His face and torso are scraped off due to him dragging himself the entire way to the wall. Under ideal circumstances this titan would most likely be able to crawl on its knees and hands and when it stood on its knees it would be around 135 but if it was able to stand it would stand at about 160.
I also just realized it is very possible his titan is this ridiculously large because he has royal blood(the founding titan is wayyyy taller than all the other titans)

I always thought that Rod become so fucking big because he was drinking the serum instead of injecting. And because he is a royal family member his body interacted differently with the
serum and transformed him into a different kind of abnormal titan. We never saw somebady drink the serum and this one to be a royal member that can acces the founder POWER. Maybe this 2 factors can produce some insane kind of titans that nobody can even imagine

My theory for the size:
The founder Titan is shown to be huge so I think his blood may have a lot of power to it so becoming a Titan would unleash a ton of it. The reason why the others weren't all that big is because I think the serum also has an inhibitor to it. Which would make sense for offering place to be designed to that certain height. How the serum was made I don't know, could be the founder Titan could change it's size going off the picture book.
The founding titan isn't huge, nor did that serum have any "inhibitor" added to it. He was deformed due to ingesting the serum rather than injecting it, and because that was most likely the spinal fluid of the colossal titan.
@@cmonbruh6769 okay so 2nd ending didn't have an image with all the Titan shifters, the founding Titan being the biggest of all. I think it's more plausible to have an inhibitor than spinal fluid from the collusol Titan.
And I'd also rather have a theory than simply ingesting it be the case
@@gameboyblue2515 please link this ending, the biggest titan is colossal titan, eren has the founding titan, not to mention that grisha's attack titan is taller than freida 's founding titan, and that Dina had royal blood and was still average height. There being an inhibitor makes no sense, as zeke straight gives titans his spinal fluid and they don't end up Abnormal.
@@gameboyblue2515 also, the ingestion thing is the theory that makes the most sense, you're basing your theories off of absolutely no evidence at all. While all the other titans were injected with the serum, the only titan we've seen deviate from this norm and ingest it instead is the only titan we've seen become abnormal.

Wow his titan form really reflected how he was a groveling worm licking the fluid.
If anyone wondering why the titan is so strange looking let me explain. First of all his back was broken before taking the serum which is why he could not stand, he might have been able to still crawl possibly if it wasn’t for the cave being too small for his size(the cave squishing him is also why he looks like a slug) and the gravity weighing down on him due to his sheer mass. Even if his back wasn’t broken and he wasn’t in a small cave it is unlikely he would still be able to stand straight as his limbs are too weak to support all that body weight. His face and torso are scraped off due to him dragging himself the entire way to the wall. Under ideal circumstances this titan would most likely be able to crawl on its knees and hands and when it stood on its knees it would be around 135 but if it was able to stand it would stand at about 160.
