Great review! My quick thoughts from hitting with this racket - Spin, Serves, Power best in 98 class (minus Babolat 98s). Volleys are absolutely zippy and crisp. Picking deep balls up on the rise were resulting in shorter softer shots than I'd like (head weight might help here). I didn't feel the need to add to tension - but I've been playing with the pure aero strung in the low 40s for years...
Ezone will be more intuitive to swing, in power, control, alot more forgiving and playable - GT will shine most at the top end range for everything, spin is bigger if you can reach it, power is bigger at the max level, but wont be as stable I prefer the GT feel and the way it swings is similar to my Gpro, i'm also very used to the playstyle it requires so nothing necessarily new to me, i think it's more work but if you can make it work, it's more rewarding, but only by small amounts. I think most people will prefer the user friendliness of the EZ

Speed MP is probably a bit more solid because of thicker beam, but the paint finish can mute the frame more so - 58 is low yeah, but the string is going to be quite important here to offset it feeling too soft - never got around to Extreme Pro because i was cutting down spending, but Aux 1.0 was ok for EP compared to Grav IMO

I think improved feel, because they have similar stiffness RA, new MP will employ the same tech , so feel will probably be same as 98 on the new MP also but haven't tried it yet. Should be more spin on MP, but if you are talking about not customized, then GT98 will play more heavy balls, but is harder work, less forgiving, GMP will be more easy to swing until you start weighing it up to similar specs as the GT98
@@carlt.7821 RF still more difficult since sweet spot is lower, it also doesnt take kindly to any other swings that arent very flush and open, whereas GT98 can do it all Power and spin levels maybe arent all that differet, but the access to them in terms of ease of use is where GT will be better Also RF feel was very not my style, whereas GT is, but very preferential
@@Le-Chuck VC98 is more forgiving, power and spin levels probably not far off, but wont have the precision and swing speed of GT98 Alot more free user friendly characteristics of the VC98 for the everyday user, but GT98 rewards at the highest level if you can utilise it
Hey mate. Thank you for the review. How did you find the gravity 98 compares to gravity pro on your one handed back hand? Did you send up sticking to any of your customisation and which string setup you find best suit?
Mine was slightly overspec already with swingweight at 330, and i always prefer as light as possible, so i actually like to play it in stock specs. At a similar spec compared to Gpro, OHBH is more forgiving and easier to play, GT98 needs to be more precise when htiting
Replace the base grip with wilson featherthin grip, babolat syntec team, or kimony leather grip, it will remove 8g or so and / or change the buttcap, it is a weighted buttcap around 7g, if you have any old head racquets, you can take their buttcap that is unweighted and remove some there too
How does it compare to Gravity Tour auxetic? That’s my current racket, but it lacks the feel and stability of the GPro (which I absolutely loved but can’t play for 3 sets nor generate enough speed on FH). So wondering how it compares to both.
@@01nah Hmm, about in the middle, it's just as much work to be honest , lighter weight than Gpro but less plow and all so it takes more effort to penetrate the court Main difference is thst i prefer the feel of Aux 2 vs 1, i dumped my Gpro aux 1 after a few months and also the Aux 1 Gtour i played with a couple times, and it is a good frame but hated the feel GT98 will not have the stability and forgiveness, which makes it more difficult to use probably
Not really similar class but Ps97 has more control at all swing speeds, alot less power, arguable if it is more or less manoevurable, depends on your swing, always like how Pro staffs feel through the air, but overall PS97 is generally requiring more effort overall to play, which is not always a bad thing
@@lsfire3489 I have to revisit the PMPL at some stage because the one i played was a demo, and it was bad strings, felt very underpowered, i think very underspec, didnt have time at that moment to customize so i wasnt left with a good experience , but i know theres lots of potential
Hahah caught me with the ratings comment probably cuz i say that to other people Very quite different, Blade 100s are lots of free stability, using that as a base to everything, like to attack, defend, hit through the ball GT98 you really need to swing swing swing, not much blocking and guiding, need to keep your foot on the gas as often as possible, not much free stability and forgiveness,
Looking at the comparisons You threw, does it compare at all to the new Extreme pro? Since has some qualities of the aero 98, i'm left wondering. Great Review!
Extreme Pro is generally more of a Spin-control racquet, so you will find it harder to really just straight up put away the ball as easy as something like the Aero98 or GT98 Extreme Pro is always a base racquet that i compare many things to, because it''s something that can do alot of things pretty decent, but nothing like particularly stands out as super super special - same as the Radical MP, but RMP is just like a flatter playing version of that
@ACTennis don't have the same experience with the extreme pro, as I find it an easy racquet to put away shots, and a lot easier (and confortable) to use than the aero 98. You have a ton more experience and tried a lot more racquets than me, so I guess it's just a personal thing. I went from a Gravity tour to the extreme pro and it's been super helpful, as I get more power (for defense) and spin without losing control. Thats why this racquet seems so interesting.
GT98 pretty much just tones down everything, makes it a little more difficult to play, but then adds more precision and control for aggressive attacking game style, maybe (arguably) more manoeuvrable, if you were to have it at same weight - not how it is stock, cuz thats like a 10g differential
I think GT98 offers more power at the top end range, but Ezone makes it easier to access at the mid to high ranges, if that makes sense? GT98 you really need to know how to swing, be loose and super aggressive
That did make sense 😊 I'm at midrange with full swings. Tried out the Ezone 98 yesterday and found it great on the ohb with a large sweet spot and plenty of power. On the other hand the GP98 has that addicting sound 😅. Though decision to take. Great job on the review as always 🎉
46 on Lynx Tour which is usually a very control string was enough for me to see that you could get some insane power and spin but i don't know how controllable it will be lol, maybe just need to adjust to it, not sure
When I tested this racquet it had well used Hawk Touch in it and felt like 40lbs lol, I did a video and thought it felt unreal that low but I want to try again to make sure it wasn’t just those new racquet feels😅Felt really powerful and controlled when I got it right, quite punishing and launchy when I got tired and lazy with my technique…especially if I didn’t rip it intently with spin on my OHB
@ A fresh 40lbs would play alot better for sure - i can see how it can work well, probably get an extra 10-15% booster in power , but you'd just have to be a little more disciplined when you pull the trigger i imagine
@ Yeh and I felt I had to be disciplined the whole time in the sense of swinging with intent every shot or it did just fly on me similar to what you stated..so I’d like to try it at my normal preferred tensions 48-52lbs. @@carlt.7821 RF still more difficult since sweet spot is lower, it also doesnt take kindly to any other swings that arent very flush and open, whereas GT98 can do it all
Power and spin levels maybe arent all that differet, but the access to them in terms of ease of use is where GT will be better
Also RF feel was very not my style, whereas GT is, but very preferential
Hi. How would you compare it to the vcore 98 ?
(My main stick but before I plates with a Gravity mp with lead) Thanx a lot for your answer ! 😊
@@Le-Chuck VC98 is more forgiving, power and spin levels probably not far off, but wont have the precision and swing speed of GT98
Alot more free user friendly characteristics of the VC98 for the everyday user, but GT98 rewards at the highest level if you can utilise it
@ACTennis Hum ok, I see. Thx a lot for this helpful answer !!! 😊👍
How was it compare to boom pro?
Didn't get a chance to try it properly, i was injured when i received a demo, might try again later
Thank you
What string are you using now ? Still Lynx ? Or Lynx Tour now. Thank you sir.
Always like Lynx Tour, wish they would make thinner gauges though, they run a bit thicker already
Cant decide between blade 18m or 16 m.
What are your advice ?
I like feel but i Also like to win matches .
Maybe 16 , little more spin friendly, might be slightly easier and more forgiving to play with
How did you strip down the weight in your gravity pro? I'd like mine to be just a tad lighter..currently using a 2021 version
Replace the base grip with wilson featherthin grip, babolat syntec team, or kimony leather grip, it will remove 8g or so
and / or change the buttcap, it is a weighted buttcap around 7g, if you have any old head racquets, you can take their buttcap that is unweighted and remove some there too
How does it compare to Gravity Tour auxetic? That’s my current racket, but it lacks the feel and stability of the GPro (which I absolutely loved but can’t play for 3 sets nor generate enough speed on FH). So wondering how it compares to both.
@@01nah Hmm, about in the middle, it's just as much work to be honest , lighter weight than Gpro but less plow and all so it takes more effort to penetrate the court
Main difference is thst i prefer the feel of Aux 2 vs 1, i dumped my Gpro aux 1 after a few months and also the Aux 1 Gtour i played with a couple times, and it is a good frame but hated the feel
GT98 will not have the stability and forgiveness, which makes it more difficult to use probably
I saw your blade review about the 18x20 For match play blade v9 18x20 or Gravity 97? thanx
@@LL-kz1qe That is a tough one, maybe GT98 for that it has better spin and power, more to weaponize
how does it compare to the pro staff 97?
Not really similar class but Ps97 has more control at all swing speeds, alot less power, arguable if it is more or less manoevurable, depends on your swing, always like how Pro staffs feel through the air, but overall PS97 is generally requiring more effort overall to play, which is not always a bad thing
How would you compare prestige mp l in power spin control and forgiveness to gravity 98 tour
@@lsfire3489 I have to revisit the PMPL at some stage because the one i played was a demo, and it was bad strings, felt very underpowered, i think very underspec, didnt have time at that moment to customize so i wasnt left with a good experience , but i know theres lots of potential
Great detailed review as always!
How would you compare it to Blade 100 V8 or V9? I am 100 V8 user - already checked both reviews and ratings :)
Hahah caught me with the ratings comment probably cuz i say that to other people
Very quite different, Blade 100s are lots of free stability, using that as a base to everything, like to attack, defend, hit through the ball
GT98 you really need to swing swing swing, not much blocking and guiding, need to keep your foot on the gas as often as possible, not much free stability and forgiveness,
@ACTennis haha well I do check out everything before I comment. Thanks for the info. My plan is to go for V9 as my 2nd racquet when it is discounted.
The Bestseller in 2025
Looking at the comparisons You threw, does it compare at all to the new Extreme pro? Since has some qualities of the aero 98, i'm left wondering.
Great Review!
Extreme Pro is generally more of a Spin-control racquet, so you will find it harder to really just straight up put away the ball as easy as something like the Aero98 or GT98
Extreme Pro is always a base racquet that i compare many things to, because it''s something that can do alot of things pretty decent, but nothing like particularly stands out as super super special - same as the Radical MP, but RMP is just like a flatter playing version of that
@ACTennis don't have the same experience with the extreme pro, as I find it an easy racquet to put away shots, and a lot easier (and confortable) to use than the aero 98. You have a ton more experience and tried a lot more racquets than me, so I guess it's just a personal thing.
I went from a Gravity tour to the extreme pro and it's been super helpful, as I get more power (for defense) and spin without losing control. Thats why this racquet seems so interesting.
Currently using Gravity MP, how does it compare?
GT98 pretty much just tones down everything, makes it a little more difficult to play, but then adds more precision and control for aggressive attacking game style, maybe (arguably) more manoeuvrable, if you were to have it at same weight - not how it is stock, cuz thats like a 10g differential
Compared to the Ezone 98, which one offers more power?
I think GT98 offers more power at the top end range, but Ezone makes it easier to access at the mid to high ranges, if that makes sense? GT98 you really need to know how to swing, be loose and super aggressive
That did make sense 😊
I'm at midrange with full swings. Tried out the Ezone 98 yesterday and found it great on the ohb with a large sweet spot and plenty of power. On the other hand the GP98 has that addicting sound 😅. Though decision to take. Great job on the review as always 🎉
What string do you use? Main and cross!
In my Gravity Pro i use Volkl V-Square 1.20mm cross with Tru Pro Ghostwire 1.22mm
@ACTennis what string do you use in head gravity tour 98?
@ Check out 4:27, all there listed 🙂
has anyone tried supper low tension to see other side
Awesome review, just finished watching it lol, I’m all for these long reviews👌👌
@@TheTennisDaddy Appreciate it! just noticed a fella Aussie, and also a reviewer of all, you got to the GT98 before me haha amazing, keep up the videos, i watch anything and everything
We got a fourth Head 98 before GTA6
Bet they make a Speed 98 before that
Would you say you're 4.5 or 5.0 NTRP?
@@drdickenbalz Depends on what court lol, i have beaten some 5s in money tournaments but lost to some others lower, but i played alot more this year and i think level my level has increased alot, these clips arent really representative of the level, all my real matches i dont record because of permission etc
@@ACTennis Your shots are really good, maybe just need more fitness and I think you'd be 5.0
@@drdickenbalz Thanks mate, ive always worked on technical development over the years, i agree i need alot more fitness lol
What’s your gravity pro specs?
323g , 338sw 33.4cm or 327g 330 sw, 32.8cm
@@ACTennis wow ! That (323g) is really low ! How did you achieve it ? Even going down with a feather thin , adding strings and overgrip + dampener would give something around 330 anyway . Are your sticks underspec'd ? Mine is almost 340 :(
@ I cant remember if my original Gpro is, my 2021 is though, its been a long time since it was a regular spec lol - the SW on the original is high though, i use thinner gauge to bring it down
@@ACTennis That was fast ! Thank You AC
13:30 if you play for 3-4 hours, you’re either 18 and don’t know what an injury is, or a total psycho 😂
@@brunis_m Well youre not wrong haha, i've had to play some one day tournaments that i ended up playing 6 full sets in a day though lol
The Blade v9 is a better racquet.
Different strokes for different folks 🫡
