when one of your favorite OCs of yours is a short guy with sunglasses and a very specific haircut and you see someone else's OC who is also a short guy with sunglasses and a very specific haircut 😅😓
This is so real omg. Except for the fact that I don’t really post my ocs, I just hold off until I finish their stories-and then proceed to never finish the lore and forget about them
Reminds me of my old ocs from like 2018 (I was a literal child) where I was tracing others art and then claiming them as mine and also making my (stolen) ocs unreasonably powerful up to the point where they can beat god (I am so grateful I never started to post until recently 😭)
honestly i would so listen to someone infodump about their OCs as a date. i once watched a friend do a powerpoint on the book they were writing and by the end i had never wanted to kiss them more
I don't run into this problem in the same way. It's more like I end up using colors that are common or popular with other artists ocs, but not typically on concept alone. Helps when I'm like one of 5 people who draw anthro snails gshkldsjghsldgh
Reminds me of the time I was in a HTTYD discord server. I had this fan species of mine that I made in my head when I was like, 10, but never drew until then. I shared this original idea of mine…and was immediately told that I was copying a dragon breed I had never even heard of before 😔
I feel like a lot of people misunderstood this video a bit, so just to be clear. No, I have never been harassed before, don't worry lol
the disappointment i always feel whenever that happens to me 🗿

Tbh I worry about this too but honestly this feeling is probably more paranoia than anything.
I love how you just sound cute in the first half but when the uproar began you just sound like the "oh fuck" reaction
I love finding out the plot of something and then comparing it to something I've written/drawn and just going "I'm unoriginal??" No..."

This is why I aim for generic or mundane backstories. Surprisingly, those are the least common.
Finding originality when millions are looking for the same is no easy task, yet every human is capable of creating something intrinsic to themselves
The chill voice that turns the panic got me rolling
y'know. going on a date and spending hours talking about original stories and characters sounds like a lot of fun.

SO HAPPY OTHERS EXPERIENCE THIS 😭😭

relatable
Don't worry about trying to be original, just try to make the idea your own.
This is exactly why I
