You guys probably noticed that there was little kids in the under world and that means that they died as a child. I thought that was so sad when I found out
Just Julianas1 man i was watching the movie the other day for the first time and when the child and it’s mother were crossing the bridge to the over world and the child goes “look mommy!” i immediately got super sad:(
That hit me hard when I first saw it, also, this puts marrying again really sad, like they come back on dia de los muertos to see the love of their life loving someone else. Yeah, you'd be glad that they're happy, but still that'd be rough.
The dog is named Dante because that's the name of Ernesto's horse in one of his films. Miguel being a huge fan of Ernesto named his dog after his hero's horse
Coco is a classic and I love how they captured the culture and meaning of Dia De Los Muertos. Finally a movie on mexican culture made with class and isn't using typical hollywood stereo types. Coco is def one of the greatest animated films of all time.
I have never met a Mexican who celebrates day of the dead. I mean just lighting of candle with a picture yes but like the whole town thing no. This mostly a California and some parts of Mexico culture.
That really bothered me. I’m like it’s not just some guy. Also it’s not the first time for him being in there films. He’s also in reck it Ralph. Geese don’t make a adults only know. And have no clue who skrillex was
I'm not an adult, I'm 15 and I noticed most of these. That's just insulting to assume we are oblivious and unintelligent. My sister was 12 when this came out and understood.
so you and your sister already know Maria Felix,Pedro infante or cantinflas, the video shows things that were a thing in Mexico back in the 50's, 60's, so its hard even for a young adult to catch everything in the movie, unless you're Mexican
Patrick Star it says only adults because kids would just be at the movies to watch the movie and they wouldn’t really care about this stuff as where adults notice more.
Patrick Star I dont think you understand 😒. What they mean is that kids go to theaters to watch the movie. Not look for tiny hidden details.kids focus more on the main characters
I don't know any adults that go "oh that dog's name is Dante must be Dante's inferno about the 9 levels of hell based on Dante's experience" although I am 21 and less then 1 month away from being 22. I'm glad kids today have decided to take reading into consideration, mostly fictional and fantasy based, but rather it works in the long run. It'll help with ya'll's literary skills in the future. Good luck to ya'll in school and in your continuing journey. God bless.
Diego Valencia That’s funny, I thought the comment section was a place where you could comment about your thoughts! And why should I care about your comment either? Also, you should edit your comment to “And why do I care?” Instead of “And why do we care?” because I’m assuming you’re not speaking up for everyone who’s seen my comment. :)
Toy Story: What if toys had feelings Nemo: What if fish had feelings Inside Out: what if feelings had feelings Coco: _What if Mexicans had feelings_ This isn't original but I still like it lmao
I love listening back to Un Poco Loco now, knowing it is young Hector singing about young Imelda, showing her more carefree and fun side before Hector disappeared and she turned more serious. Brilliant way of showing a backstory without even realising it at the time.
You Tube Well Mexicans and few latinos would know. As well as people who know this breed or own that breed of dog. I'm not a adult but i do know about the breed.
Kihye TTR, not necessarily ... if that's the case then it would be a much more obvious reference to the Mr. Bean episode where he mistakenly goes to a classroom where everyone is painting a naked lady. Actually, nude painting is not that rare to be considered a reference to a significant scene. A nude painting is simply a nude painting, that's all.
RANDOM Because adults, or simply the creators/animators of the film use references and knowledge from topics and artists that 1.) People aren't familiar with right away. 2.) People don't have general knowledge of. 3.) The films and productions they reference come with age. However, easter egg references aren't hard to notice and children, teenager's, and adults pick up easily. Some topics are obvious and don't need addressing. For the info on the artist and actors they referenced I personally thought was interesting because I didn't know that. Finally the team at Pixar is about 20 to 60 year old adults so, information and references will be broad around those age groups.
RANDOM kids may SEE what they notice but as adults what we NOTICE is more of an understanding than what kids may get from it. Little ones like 13 and under, depending on how open their parents are to culture or the kinds of seens in the movie ,won't get the references.
The day I first watched this movie was Christmas Eve my family as Hispanics open presents at 12 in the morning sooo.. anyways we went at 10 and everybody else was at home celebrating we went to the movies and saw Coco for the first time. When Hector sings to Chicharron, Well Everyone knows Juanita..Her *knuckles* they drag on the floor... Those are not the words. Edward James Olmos voiced El Chicharrón.
True...but they probably really meant... Ok, kids use your ear muffs!! {cover those ojos!} . Her. (Knockers)😳 in Spanish version it was her senos,or pechos. 😳
This was waaay better than Book of Life, this focused alot on the culture and Dia De Muertos, when Book of Life used afterlife as a setting and was more focused on the actual theme.
Calista Young Unless they broke into the Pixar studio, it would be impossible for them to steal the idea. Besides. Ripoffs are released around the time a Disney movie comes out with a similar title to the Disney film to confuse older people trying to find the movie for their kids/grandkids. It's a movie about the day of the dead. You can't steal an idea for a holiday movie. That's like saying How The Grinch Stole Christmas ripped off Roudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer because they are centered around christmas.
Yeah. Set in the holiday about the day of the dead, and about a male lead who wants to play music despite his family's wishes, and the male enters into the world of the dead and encounters dead family members. I can see how Coco reminds you of The Book of Life.
*My theory:* Could the Skelleton with the shirt from toy story could be the teenage version of Sid from toy story who had passed away at a young age? Maybe not but it was worth a shot!
Actually the reason I think that the kid named his dog Dante is because he was such a big fan of De La Cruz. In one scene, where miguel finds a way into Ernesto’s party, u see Ernesto ridding a horse and he called the horse Dante. So cuz Miguel is such a big fan of Ernesto, he prob named his loyal companion Dante too. And I just watched the movie so much that I caught this. That’s just what I think tho 😁😁😁😁😁
I noticed when the guy in the hammock said “that’s not how the lyrics go” then the guy singing said “kid present”.. after that he said “thank you. Brings back memories”.
In my humble opinion, Ratatouille, Coco and Up are the best three Pixar movies, and probably some of the greatest films ever. Many Pixar movies are really amazing but those are the top three for me.

Riley Mozader It’s De la Cruz. You don’t say cruise as in ship. This is why gringos shouldn’t be allowed to speak or write in Spanish!
OMG!!
The Grandma with
"The Chancla" It brought back a Flashback !! 😳👉🏽👞🏃🏽♀️
WHAT! Cantinflas! That's so adorable. I didn't notice that one! Tbh, I didn't notice a lot of these things and my nieces make me watch it almost everyday 🤦🏽
Jocelyne Segovia same here and I'm 56 and Hispanic. Lol
Jocelyne Segovia I know me too. I have one of the Cantiflas film called "Por Mis Pistolas".
I would never have noticed it, and I already laugh a lot with his movies.
I don’t think knowing most of these things has much to do about your age.
This makes me love Coco more than I already did. Cool video.
Im not even hispanic but i was cringing everytime they said something in spanish😂
Amina Ahmes Me 2😂
Baby REX
What white girl has a name ‘Amina Ahmes’??? Loooool
3egjq2 Omg thats what i thought
Baby REX duddeeew im brown
Why
The thing is my parents probably won’t notice these things
1. They are blind
2. They fall asleep threw half of the movie
Sooo.......
Wait are your parents literally blind?
I need to watch it again, with my kids, of course!! I think i only caught half of these. I just know it was beautiful!!
Let's be honest that Miguels dad looks like shia lebouf
does miguels dad dig holes an likes cars that are robots???
When Hector sings to Chicharron, Well Everyone knows Juanita..Her *knuckles* they drag on the floor... Those are not the words. Edward James Olmos voiced El Chicharrón.
i always wandered...what really dragged on the floor?if knuckles is the kids version.
LOL, when it's sung in Spanish they use the word *uñas* which means fingernails. But as Chicharron says Esa no son las letras!
that is not that bad .I mean i heard wooorse.
True...but they probably really meant... Ok, kids use your ear muffs!! {cover those ojos!} . Her. (Knockers)😳 in Spanish version it was her senos,or pechos. 😳
I wonder how this one didn't even get a mention in this video. It's the most obvious that that adults got that children wouldn't get.
2:37 "They'll follow you forever"
I see what they did there... because Dante became an Alebrije
This movie lowkey reminds me of the book of life
This was waaay better than Book of Life, this focused alot on the culture and Dia De Muertos, when Book of Life used afterlife as a setting and was more focused on the actual theme.
I can see how Coco reminds you of The Book of Life.
i thought it was just me oml
You're not the only one
When yr Mexican and knew all this hit .-. XD
lizy star right i honestly got triggered
I'm 9 and I'm "clever enough" to notice all these.
“He choked on Chorizo!” I started smiling and then laughing on the inside.
I adore this movie!
Surviving as Mom it was cute!
This is one of my mom's favorite movies because she was born in Mexico.
I just like your analysis, Is very precise and simple at the same time
You missed the azteka emperor behind Cantinflas!
*My theory:*
Could the Skelleton with the shirt from toy story could be the teenage version of Sid from toy story who had passed away at a young age?
Maybe not but it was worth a shot!
Probably not, but let's go with that!
someone pitched that theory to the director, but unfortunately he said it was not sid and they just shared the same shirt lmao
Sid grew up to be the Trash man in Toy Story 3
And now kids notice them too. Thanks!
Wow Cantinflas
KathehFIT where?
Donde?
Irene Gallegos they mention he was in the coco film! Haha I’m so suprised
Ikr he is my favorite actor entertaining my family for years in the past R.I.P 😭
also pedro infante and Jorge nigrete very famous actors and musicians in Mexico:)
KathehFIT ,
Actually the reason I think that the kid named his dog Dante is because he was such a big fan of De La Cruz.
I.have.jams. unlike.Jimin
That's what I thought-
I noticed that too. And I only watched it one time.
I noticed when the guy in the hammock said “that’s not how the lyrics go” then the guy singing said “kid present”.. after that he said “thank you. Brings back memories”.
5:52 CANTIFLAS!!!! YES THAT IS CANTIFLAS MUSTACHR SI IS HIM
“HE DIED CHOKING ON A CHORIZO”
Right!!!! And tje fact that Miguel just laughed because he didn't get it
In my humble opinion, Ratatouille, Coco and Up are the best three Pixar movies, and probably some of the greatest films ever. Many Pixar movies are really amazing but those are the top three for me.
Wow. MOST OF THESE ARE OBVIOUS. AND IM A KID. You are basically calling us stupid and oblivious.
Yes.
You've probably seen a lot of videos of children. I think you should know what they mean.
How old do you consider a "kid"?
I have 4 kids, 10 and under and none of them know the history of the references.
So kudos to you. 👏👏
Snow Cosmo | You took it too hard, young one.
Right?
Disappointed the “that’s not the words!” scene was never mentioned
