I am not Latino but it hit me that everyone needs to remember the family members who have passed away. Coco is definitely a game changer for uplifting values. 👍
The kid is SO talented, the way he voices Miguel sounds so genuine and real, and it moves me so much while watching the movie. And his singing is spectacular also!
The whole soundtrack of this movie was excellent, they felt like classic Mexican songs you heard as a kid somehow. And Anthony Gonzalez did a great job delivering those vocals, he was as breathtaking as Auli'i Cravalho was in Moana.
Martin Amarilla That doesn’t matter. They have a completely different team behind them and I’m sure that it annoys them when they aren’t credited properly for their work and efforts.
Yes.. it is true.. all the songs in this movie are so calm and beautiful to the ears. Im from Malaysia (Asia) somehow, I always find Mexican, Latin and Spanish music (even the Hawaiian ukelele) (especially played with acustic guitar) sounds so soothing and relaxing.. beautiful music..
As a Latina I am so amazed at all the detail in this movie. I’ve seen coco at least 100 times because my babies love are obsessed and every single time I cry lol
Can we just all take a moment to acknowledge how well spoken Benjamin Bratt is. Could not have said it better myself. Such a great individual with a intellect as grand as his personality.
He is very good at singing, I would love to sing to but I get sort of nervous sometimes, I want to be a voice actor because when I am not nervous or have fear I can make my voice sound high pitch and talk like that or make it sound silly and low.
This was such a genuine interview. From the very beginning it just felt so right. Benjamin Bratt is such a well spoken person and really captures the essence of the film and its resonance in this interview. Anthony is a wonderful talent as well and was so unabashedly excited. Crazy that Ben is the (SPOILERS) bad guy, he’s so charismatic.
Melahuac TV. That's racist man. The duo song wasn't even part of the main movie, but i'm thankful that Miguel made a great rendition of it. The movie was made in respect and and love of our Mexican culture, not specifically to be made with only mexican actors. It was about the culture not the actors. Besides that, a lot of Mexican Americans, and a lot of Mexican actors were given main and secondary roles in the movie, Gael Garcia, Ana Ofelia Murguia, Gabriel Iglesias, Edward James Olmos, Cheech Marin. Dont take away from the cultural significance of the film. It doesn't repair the years of injustice and pain inflected on Mexicans by the US, or its politics, but it does a lot for children living in the US and in Mexico to how a positive depiction of themselves in a new movie. We cant have it both way, we cant be mad when we dont see ourselves represented in media, and then mad when we are because it doesn't do it enough?
I brought my 12 year old sister and 11 year old cousin to see it. I cried and cried. Im 28. I had just lost my great grandma a couple months before. I was the only great grand child that had a tight relationship with her. This movie was beautiful. I want an ofrenda in my new house with all of those who I loved. Such a wonderful rich movie.
How beautiful to read your experience!🥰 I have an amazing photo of me with my great grandmother, Belen, at a wedding when we were all dressed up and when I first felt like a young lady and not a little girl. That and all the loving memories that I'll never forget. What a matriarch that woman...she was the center of the universe for us and we all loved her so much. I hope you and your family are doing well.
my husband asked me if China has a similar festival to make connection with our ancestors .yes, its tomb-sweeping day. we all share the same value to remember where we from and to feel the recognition of family. Great animation COCO!
I have the same issue I unfortunately missed it in theaters but I got the blu Ray Tuesday and I've watched it each day Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday so probably gonna watch it again today
This is absolutely THE best Disney animation EVER!! The story, the voice actors, the singing, the instrumentals... it's the only Disney film I want to watch again and again. Thank you to Anthony and Benjamin for bringing these characters to life, (and whoever did Hector, I love him!). I'm now SO in love with Dia de los Muertos, what a beautiful tradition worth celebrating!! Watch what Benjamin says in the last minute. 👍👍🌟🌟
Woot woot! Yo soy Latina. It was a beautiful movie and I cried. Saw it the night it premiered. So proud of Disney/Pixar. Thanks for the representation!!! More, more, more for all People of Color.
Mostly Pixar if u see the article Disney want to patent the Culture of Dia de los Muertos that make pixar being held to make COCO but later there a petition and disney withdraw with the culture. (sry Bad English) "Disney hoped to secure the rights to the title "Day of the Dead" and such themed merchandise as fruit preserves, fruit-based snacks, toys, games, clothing, footwear, backpacks, clocks and jewelry." "But finding the right tone for the culture it was spotlighting turned out to be the project’s biggest challenge. At first, to stay clear of stereotypes and making sure to be culturally respectful, Unkrich said he used many Pixar artists and employees who are Mexican or Mexican-American as a sounding board. However, a major roadblock hit the production in 2013 when Disney filed an application to patent Dia de los Muertos for the release of the movie. The Latino community went into an uproar on social media and a petition to stop Disney went up on Change.org and received over 21,000 signatures. The company quickly withdrew the application."
I waited way too long to see this movie. It was super; and very interesting, refreshing to have a movie featuring Mexican culture and people. I agree, more p.o.c. in media of all kinds is always great.
elia m the soundtrack on iTunes has English and Spanish versions of all the songs. The kid sings in both versions. Amazing soundtrack for an amazing movie.
Ohh I thought the same actor voiced both versions. I got the chance to watch the movie in Mexico on the day of the dead! and I reeeeally loved the voices in Spanish ♥
What Benjamin Bratt is saying at the last part is full of beauty and meaning. He's speaking not for himself but like for the whole Latin community. To much feels. Ugh
I cried like a Baby, seriously I don't know what it is about this movie that made me cry so much, I think it was the Grandma Coco and how they rendered her, both my Grandma's have passed but I remember them both dearly and miss them, it wasn't that I was so close to them, I was but not to the extreme because I never lived with either one, but more realization of the fact they are not here now and that I loved them and still miss them, certain things jog your memory in a profound way, Coco had this effect on me, I can't watch it again, have told my wife to see but she'll only see it if I rewatch it with her, but I just not right now, another movie that had this type of effect on me was What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams, where he loses his 2 kids in an accident and then he is killed in a freak accident and his wife is left with the sorrow of losing 2 kids and her husband so she commits suicide, He tries to find his kids in heaven but someone comes to give him the bad news that his wife won't be joining them because she commited suicide, so he tries to go down to purgatory and save her, it's a beautiful movie but just to emotinaly draining for me at the time with the birth of my son
I really love this movie. My nieces and nephews are teens so they don't really watch cartoons but they love this movie as well & are always singing "un poco loco". 😂 But this kid can sing so good. Bless him.
Benjamin Bratt is so articulate and sensitive! I like him better now. And Anthony is pure cuteness and talent, can't wait to see what he makes of himself :)
We are so excited for you, I have watched this movie at least 3 or 4 dozen times.... my grand babies and great grand babies love this movie. They are get a paralyzing moment when they watch this movie , then start dancing to your songs & music.... Amazing job. Love it.
Saw this tonight and it was such a great movie. I got teary eyed in a couple of scenes and had a knot in my throat. He is very talented and has such great voice.
This is one of my favorite movies ever. Like Benjamin Bratt said in the video, it is able to demonstrate the beauty of the culture while also finding a way to resonate and with so many different people. I'm not Latino, but still the movie talks all about the beauty of music and family, the two most Important things in the world to me. Coco is such a beautiful movie that has great representation that everyone can find meaning and beauty in.
It moved our Family! I am the Father of one and my son adores Coco we have watched it countless time now, I have been learning the songs for him and this movie brings joy to our family. Muchas Gracias Señors, Señoras, & Señoritas!
I like how well spoken Benjamin Bratt is 😊 they all show how they love their jobs so much to the point it seems like they're all family having a good time.
This movie made me cry omg... I rented it from red box last night... Me and my daughter watched it about 4x in 2 days and each time i cry... It so beautiful... I love you guys 😭
Okay why are y’all saying “iT’s BeTtEr In SpAnIsH” .. whenever I watch a movie based off the American culture in Spanish I don’t say “It’S bEtTeR iN eNgLiSh” .. chill .. poor kid.. he didn’t even do a bad job..
Anthony you are Mexicos modern day hero and ambassador. The whole world will love your culture and your people so much more because of what you did. You are amazing.

The whole soundtrack of this movie was excellent, they felt like classic Mexican songs you heard as a kid somehow. And Anthony Gonzalez did a great job delivering those vocals, he was as breathtaking as Auli'i Cravalho was in Moana.
Martin Amarilla please notice the difference between Disney and Pixar
Why would I need to separate the two? Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios are both Disney subsidiaries anyway.
Martin Amarilla That doesn’t matter. They have a completely different team behind them and I’m sure that it annoys them when they aren’t credited properly for their work and efforts.
Martin Amarilla same
Yes.. it is true.. all the songs in this movie are so calm and beautiful to the ears. Im from Malaysia (Asia) somehow, I always find Mexican, Latin and Spanish music (even the Hawaiian ukelele) (especially played with acustic guitar) sounds so soothing and relaxing.. beautiful music..
That song was FIRE when he sang that in the movie. Loved that part.

And that's what makes Anthony Gonzalez one of the greatest child actors ever.
He don't need no autotune
William Chang Shut the fuck up. What's important is that you understood what he said.
As a Latina I am so amazed at all the detail in this movie. I’ve seen coco at least 100 times because my babies love are obsessed and every single time I cry lol
