"Since Coco actually is a pretty scary story..." WHAT? NO it is not! It's a story about honoring where you come from and the people who came before you. Just because it deals with death and skeletons does not make it creepy or scary.
it can be scary, when it comes to the parts that deal with what happens AFTER death, and what could happen if nobody is alive to honor your memory once you're gone. definitely not horror-movie kind of scary, though, more like an existential crisis kinda scary
It can be scary to some that have been highly influenced by other occasions like Halloween. But in Mexico we like to think in a more optimistic mentality and honor those who have passed in a positive light. I've always gotten so many questions on how we, Mexicans, can be so cheery about something so morbid but I guess it's in our culture.
It’s your girl Michelle Q I didn't. I specifically mentioned that that's a common belief among many Americans or others who are not informed about the culture. I'm just stating their side with the intention to justify this common misconception! Hope this cleared things up!
You missed another another Easter egg for you story, when Miguel starts his day off, there is buzz lighteryear, woody, Mike wizoski, that are piñatas hanging. Really cool
I also bet that most didn’t know that Frida Kahlo, was a real artist and was married to a man named Diego RIVERA. Which left me thinking if Miguel and Frida are related in some way.
@@typicalloserrr_9757 no, alibejes are a part of mexican culture. They came from someone have a dream when they were very sick and in their dream they had strange neon animals and sculpted it. Other people found it to be interesting so they carved them too.
emily gutez When he is presenting Miguel to the people inside we can see Cantinflas and at the very beginning of him introducing Miguel he says “Aye Pedro” to a man dressed as Pedro Infante. They are both shown in a small time frame. :)
Speaking of detail, and for any guitar players out there, if you pay attention to whenever someone plays guitar in the movie, the exact chords that are shaped are actually the exact chords you would make in real life. For example, in the song “Un Poco Loco” they make the shape “D”, “G”, and “C” the exact shape you would make if actually playing it on guitar. Most movies don’t do this, so I find it very impressive and interesting on how much detail they put into this movie! Great job!
You also forgot one Easter egg ! When Miguel was running through town right after when he says hello to the lady and sees the singers. You can see a piñata of Woody and Buzz from Toys Story and I think Mike from Monsters Inc.
if... if you say that it is important to research and pay attention to every detail to make something, why didn't you research pretty much anything in this video?
One thing I noticed, they said the reference to The Shinning was a shout out to Steven King, but King has repeatedly said he hated the movie and tried to be disassociated from it as much as possible.

In the scene where Chicharron played by Edward James Olmos, some of the dialogue is a shout out to the film "Stand and Deliver", which starred Olmos and Lou Diamond Phillips. In "Stand and Deliver, Olmos portrays Jaime Escalante a math teacher at James A. Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. He would tell his students, "If you want it, you got to earn it!"
I really really love this movie! It's very meaningful! This is the first movie that made me cry. A couple things I spotted in Coco that I never seen mentioned anywhere online is that the Rivera family after swearing off music after Hector left and never came back continued to live in a village named Santa Cecilia after the patron saint of music. The computer that was smashed by mama Imelda at family office in the land of the dead that she called ‘that devil box’ was a Macintosh Plus which was made by Apple at the time that Steve Jobs (who founded Pixar) at the time he left Apple
This movie is our family favorite because we can relate is so many ways just like so many Mexicanos. It shows alot of our heritage and traditions that most people don't know of so it's amazing to share with the world. It brings back alot of memories from Mexico especially our Abuela.

Yes, the chance of twins is greater if you have family history of twins. In the general population the chance of twins is 1 in 89 but if you, your mother or her mother are a fraternal twin that can be as high as 1 in 7
maybe. my sister had two sets of twins. twins girls first, then twins boys years later. it might have ran on her father's side? or the sets of twins father's. sets of twins from different fathers'.
Twins run in the family on the mothers side. The woman is more likely to drop 2 eggs at once if it runs in the family
Jean Sloan it doesn't run in our mother's family side. there have been no twins ever, until my sister had them.
