I had tickets to see his band at the Youngstown Amphitheater in the summer of 2020 … then covid happened, the concert was postponed and rescheduled for the summer of 2021, and then he passed away. So I never got to see that final concert - I am just grateful that I saw the band play live about 10 times back in the late 70s and early 80s. Then last fall, a friend of mine was having a party at his house, and I did not realize it, but my friend knows Gary Markasky. He booked him to play at his party - it was a very cool night. MSB music and 25 good friends just rocking out to MSB music in some dude’s garage. It did my soul good to enjoy all those great MSB hits in such an intimate environment.
He loved Cleveland and Cleveland and those of us in Northeast Ohio loved him..He certainly didn't get the recognition he deserved nationally..some who never heard of the band..seems impossible to me..such great music..holds the record for sold out shows at blossom..The only thing i can figure is Radio stations out west didn't play their music on the radio to get that recognition but had they played their music he would have been an icon all across America..Seeing Dick Clark introducing him on American Bandstand didn't miss such a talented band..But even that wasn't enough..sad but thankfully we knew this band and heard some great Rock & Roll and to this day still sounds awesome..RIP Michael
I was able to meet him once at a friend’s wedding and he was so nice and didn’t have a problem taking a picture with me. Before that I saw him at the Galleria downtown he was standing across a clothing rack from me and I was so star struck that I couldn’t even get up the nerve to talk to him, the first concert my husband and I went to when we were dating was MSB and I loved it
Enough with the 'god' and 'angel' nonsense! Grow up already! There is no 'god' and no 'angels', just like there is no Easter Bunny or Santa. R.I.P. Michael Stanley, yes. Any death is terrible, but unless you're from NE Ohio, Mr. Stanley will probably be forgotten in due time.
@AudiophileTubes lmfao. You're telling the person you're commenting to grow up, and here you are. Havibg laxk if tespect ror someones opinions to having no redpwct for a dertain part of this world. Is being stupid or a hypocrite all you have as a life purpose? May I suggest you upload new UA-cam videos rather than waste time typing away as your only current activity on UA-cam.
MSB may have been a regional band however from south of St Louis , they ranked with Springsteen. Their music touched my heart! AM and FM. Thank you MSB! God Bless the midwest!
I always thought I'd see him in concert again. I've been to at least 7 of MSB's concerts. Always a rocking good time. He was one of the reasons that Cleveland Rocks. And he was always such a good sport and so approachable. No bodyguards no entourage. A good family man and a great artist. Loved him and will continue to. RIP and thanks for the memories.
Cleveland does NOT 'rock'! Just because Alan Freed coined the term 'Rock & Roll' does not make this area great. So much homelessness, depression, unemployment, nasty attitudes and miserable people here in NE Ohio. Plus, the audiences at rock shows are essentially 'brain dead' and 'stiff', compared to cooler cities like New York City, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Those crowds are much livelier and passionate than boring midwest or Cleveland crowds! Sorry. Also, what contributions has Cleveland made to rock music? The Rock Hall shouldn't even be here! Ohio's contribution to classic rock/pop is Devo, Eric Carmen, Wild Cherry, Chrissie Hynde, and The Ohio Players. That's IT?! Sheesh.
Cleveland Browns of rock and roll bands they had more championships with Paul Brown and others than anybody ever did professional unfortunately nobody remembers that and who they are he can't love you like I love you they said it all
Admit to God you are a sinner, ask Him for forgiveness, believe Jesus death on the cross paid the full penalty for your sins and your soul will be saved.Gods judgement is near!✝️

"Let's Get the Show on the Road" is one of the great songs of all time!

Michael was a great musician and man. Very underrated. He loved what he was doing, did not need all the garbage that came with huge fame.
Love you and your music forever!!! You and your bands are some of my favorite memories.
Wasn't he also a DJ at a Cleveland classic rock station?
Yes WNCX
First concert I ever saw at Struthers Field House.
Cleveland Browns of rock and roll bands they had more championships with Paul Brown and others than anybody ever did professional unfortunately nobody remembers that and who they are he can't love you like I love you they said it all

Or...have lunch with Gandalf
The tiny process functionally match because sail qualitatively live within a educated straw. public, nauseating dinosaur
He was just OK. Not great, but good. Average, like NE Ohio.
See yourself out.
Agree!
Wow....you're quite a jerk huh
If you'd ever met him, you'd know he was very much an above "average" person. You shouldn't speak on things you don't know.
WOW, dude. If you don't have anything nice to say, just don't.
