It always amazes me to see such genius in such humble surroundings - I have seem the great Dmetriev and equally great Oleg Sharov in accordion clubs - any other instruments and they would be in the great concert halls . Anyway lucky for us who get the privilege of seeing them close up . Dmetriev is a true artist as this short video shows .
This guy is unbelievable perfectly playing. He shows the possibilities of the accordion for expression of all facettes of emotions. Hope to hear more of him.
Salutes to u Sir. Excellent Rendition..For how many centuries did u practice this?? U r producing the sound of a concert produced by 100 people at a time..Those who dislike this are really stone hearted deafs..Way to go Sir. Lots of love from INDIA..
Very amazing and very impressive, what he is doing with the Bayan. Perfect technique and great emotions with the composition of G. Rossini. Hope to see (and hear) more videos from him soon !
Extremely skilled player more like, quite possible the the best accordion player in the world. If not, he is the best in my oppinion still, no matte what anyone says! YOU ROCK!
I first came across these videos of Alexander when I was studying music at University back in the mid 00s. I will never not be in total awe of the mastery he have over his instrument.
I think this guy is an excellent player, but I just don't know why he has to go so insanely fast. If you listen to what this piece should sound like, as played by an orchestra, he plays it almost twice as fast. It's impressive, but I think it sounds even more impressive when you can actually hear the individual notes.
Don't get me wrong, I think this guy is an awesome player, but I think sometimes just to show off how fast and accurate he can play something, he sacrifices the music. This to me sounds like it's played sped up, and I think it'd sound more impressive if he slowed up a bit so you could hear it properly.
I acknowledge the fact that he is a damned good player, but there isn't a need to play everything so fast. That is precise playing, definitely, but it just sounds like a record played too fast. It'd be much better if he slowed it down a few notches.
Didn't I say that I realize how good a player he is? He's an excellent player, quite possibly the best I've ever seen on the instrument. He'd have to be to have even a CHANCE of being able to play this as quickly. However, the piece isn't supposed to be played as fast as he plays it and it doesn't sound as good as it could because of that. That's all. I'm not questioning his ability, he's amazing in that regard.
Awesome work, by execution an dificult of this instrument in particular, this acordeon when open is one note, when close is another note. Very Hard.. e Very Beatifull
Interesting rendition of the piece. Excellent demonstration of skill, but it isn't exactly the same piece as it was written (it would be VERY VERY VERY difficult to sing it at the speed you are playing it at).
Hey guys, the song name is wrong.. This song name is "Largo Al Factotum" from "The Barber of Seville".. Anyway, the song is absolutely damn good.. ★★★★★
He is not just a accordionist, actually, he and the accordion is whole set, say combination. Best of all. We should learn his sensation in playing music.
I think that you can play faster on chromatic accordions, but i play the piano accordion cause i don't want just to play fast. Piano accordion serves better for chords i think. Also, chromatic accordions have 6 lines of buttons where the 3 are the repeat of the first 3. So, instead of pressing e.g C two times on a piano accordion, you can press two diffirent buttons on chromatic. So if you wanna shred, chromatic accordion is for you :P!
So does anyone have an idea on what an accordion like this would cost? I am on a mission to collect an learn as many musical instruments as I possibly can ;) I've seen ones in the store with FAR less keys, but I prefer to start learning at the top-of-the-curve, so-to-speak =) (Hence, an idiotic 23 year old buying a $1200 dollar upright piano to cram into my tiny apartment haha!)
@wjference I do not agree, they are two different tools, and here in Russia they have a different meaning, more accordion folk instrument rather than a melodic accordion, button accordions expensive although the sound does not inferior.
that was absolutely spectacular and unbelievable! i am amazed. do you ever perform in canada? do you teach? do you have or reccommend a cd that teaches accordion? what kind of accordion is it? it seems to have much more range then a piano accordion.
I don't even understand how this is possible. My mind is reeling. How do you get both hands going playing all those tiny little buttons, AND do the bellows thing at the same time???? I think my brain is going to explode.
Amazing player, though I would trade some speed for emotion. Music is not a race, and except for some convoluted heavy metal bands, there is no need to play fast for speed's sake...
Guys, he is not playing TOOOOO fast. This is his interpretation...pls, listen to other stuff and not just speed...but other aspects which make it brilliant
Unbelievable and fantastic. How does an accordion last after being played like that? ....I guess bayans can be treated differently? Still, it's brilliant
Bravo!!!!!!
Ah Bravo Dmitriev bravo bravissimo bravo! Fortunatissimo per verità, bravo! ... Ah Bravo Dmitriev bravo bravissimo a te fortuna, a te fortuna non mancherà!
Aside from his speed, what impressed me the most was his terrific control over the tone. His ability to move so smoothly from loud to quiet sections and notes was amazing.

Perfect Player! One of the best interpretation of the Barber of Seville.
This guy is unbelievable perfectly playing. He shows the possibilities of the accordion for expression of all facettes of emotions.
Hope to hear more of him.
*Rossini -The Barber of Seville !!!!!* Accardion (bayan)
Bravo ! Excellent Thank you
Olga Novakauskiene ib
Salutes to u Sir. Excellent Rendition..For how many centuries did u practice this?? U r producing the sound of a concert produced by 100 people at a time..Those who dislike this are really stone hearted deafs..Way to go Sir. Lots of love from INDIA..

Grandissimo...!
Very amazing and very impressive, what he is doing with the Bayan.
Perfect technique and great emotions with the composition of G. Rossini.
Hope to see (and hear) more videos from him soon !

+artisa72 Really in agreement on every point...! :-)
Pardon me, excuse me, pardon me, excuse me
OH MY...
Extremely skilled player more like, quite possible the the best accordion player in the world. If not, he is the best in my oppinion still, no matte what anyone says! YOU ROCK!
I hope the Rossini did not have epileptic seizures
I first came across these videos of Alexander when I was studying music at University back in the mid 00s. I will never not be in total awe of the mastery he have over his instrument.

one of the greatest play i have ever listened.
I think this guy is an excellent player, but I just don't know why he has to go so insanely fast.

BRAVO!!! ( from a woman of the Southwestern USA )

I'm so very proud I met him in Castelfidardo Italy. I'm on a picture with him!
Alexsander and Vitaly, you are great!

This guy head movements are so funny
Wish I could play like that

THIS GUY IS A MONSTER!!!!! Love your work Alex. The technique, musicality, and the energy. Epic performance!!!
@wjference I do not agree, they are two different tools, and here in Russia they have a different meaning, more accordion folk instrument rather than a melodic accordion, button accordions expensive although the sound does not inferior.

what kind of accordion is it? it seems to have much more range then a piano accordion.
awesome adaptation and performance.
it looked he got too excited and had a seizure in the fast staccato sections xD
Nice! Your amazing (in your hands!) bajan is like orchestra! Congratulatons! - F.
I don't even understand how this is possible. My mind is reeling. How do you get both hands going playing all those tiny little buttons, AND do the bellows thing at the same time???? I think my brain is going to explode.

Ah Bravo Dmitriev bravo bravissimo bravo!
Fortunatissimo per verità, bravo!
...
Ah Bravo Dmitriev bravo bravissimo
a te fortuna, a te fortuna non mancherà!
Aside from his speed, what impressed me the most was his terrific control over the tone. His ability to move so smoothly from loud to quiet sections and notes was amazing.
He's into the music, you've never seen muscians get into music before or something? Many guitarist makes faces while playing solos also.
from 3:25 to 3:30 its perfect for a head n shoulders commercial.
Nice sounds
This is freakin' insane! O.O His fingers ae faster than the video. Sometimes I think I actually can see smoke coming out of the keys!
after some 50 years of practice 8-10 hours per day that could be even possible :)
@wjference Listen, this is totally two different musical instruments, even if they have something in common.
Perfect !! The best version on accordion !!
ALEXANDER DMITRIEV: O MAIOR ACORDEONISTA DA FACE DA TERRA.
This is SO cartoony... I can literally see Bugs Bunny and the Warner Brothers fooling around to this tune!
i totaly agree
de acuerdo, esto Alexander Dmitriev
es increible
i want to see more videos from that amazing bayanist lol
Because the grand scale audience prefers to listen to that pop crap music instead of the REAL music =(
incredibile
Technically sound this guy! Awesome job on a very difficult song to play on a "button" accordion!!
This is a serious kick in the Colombian flashy accordionists' asses! Dmitriev, you're the BEST!!!
He is totaly one with the music. You need to be a little 'Rainman' to do it.
Fantastic, amazing.
Don't be such a bigot. Guitar hero is a game. This is music.
This man is truly impressive! =)
Jajajaj Good one. Reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite.
This guy could play the Toccata & Fugue in D minor and it would pass for an organ
EXCELENETE*****
HUGO.
It's funny to think he can play like that when 34 people can't even click a mouse correctly.
I didnt know you could glue two typewriters together and do that!!Alrite only joking sorry.
If you can play this instrument, i think you can play anything!
It seems so complicated!!
What is there to ruin it? He is just moving air over reeds, it's not anything damaging.
@BonePhone Yes, ..he is something else...now hes not THAT old!!
Jizz face at 1:59
I am totally amazed. This guy is marvellous.
But he also reminds me a bit of Mr. Bean
Incredile . Greetings from south america - Brazil
Grandioso!!, Excelso!! imponente ejecucion!!👍
as an accordionist...that is f-ing amazing.
who remembers woody woodpecker fingers up!
It's not an accordion, a Bajan! He himself was, and added items for better sound!
The name of this piece is actually "Largo al Factorum" from The Barber of Seville
As usual, spoiled by going too fast at the best bits. Fast doesn't equal good.
and why does he pull strange faces lol?
amazing !!! What sort of accordian is that? It does not have piano type keys ?
Loistava tulkinta, mestarillinen tekniikka :)
This guy really uses Head n Shoulders.
