Muncie M20 transmission. Correct original Matador red color. This Camaro had been sitting for approximately 20 years in a conditioned building in Oklahoma. We brought it to North Carolina for a restoration. This Camaro had no rust and was 100% unmolested. It still had the original GM under chassis paint without rust. The car now rests in a climate controlled garage. Street and show ready! The Camaro was “born” with the following factory options: Power Brakes Power Steering 396 big block engine and Muncie M20 engine Front disc brakes Seat Belts INTERIOR: New custom seat upholstery and interior including door panels , carpet and other related items. The ventilation duct work and vents were replaced as the years had not been kind to those materials. Original AM radio was replaced with a more modern retrosound sytem. The original gauges were replaced with top quality Dakota Digital. Original center console is still in place . EXTERIOR: All weatherstripping was replaced. The car received new a new Matador red base / clear paint job which was its original color with a show quality mirror reflection. Paint was upgraded to base coat with 3 coats of clear. The original SS fuel tank cap remains. The external antennae was replaced with an under dash model to provide a cleaner exterior appearance Tinted glass Drivetrain and Chassis: The Camaro has a date correct warranty “CE” block. The 396 horsepower engine was completely rebuilt. The block was in incredible condition and still utilizes its original pistons and connecting rods. An aggressive Howards roller cam matched with roller lifters and some head work were utilized to increase the horse power to approximately 415HP The distributor was internally updated to a pertronix points conversion but externally still appears as factory from 1968. Dakota digital VHX gauges The Muncie M20 4 speed transmission and differential only required gaskets and seals as all internal parts were in great condition. The exhaust was replaced with a full stainless steel 2.5” system utilizing an original type traverse muffler. All brakes and steering were replaced or rebuilt including the steering box The leaf springs were upgrade to quality Eaton HD springs with a 1” rise over stock to provide a better ride and accommodate the larger tires . The car sits on 4 new BF Goodrich tires in size P255/60R 15 which are mounted to rally wheels . All brake lines are replaced. New fuel tank, sender and lines. The car still utilizes a brass / copper radiator.
