Wow, so sweet.

Very nice! You would have a lot more fun with that nice horseshoe shifter by swapping the factory detent out for a True Slap detent plate. They let you slap shift twice and they provide a Neutral lockout feature. They are simple to install and make the car even more fun.

1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 1968 Chevelle SS with its numbers matching drive train - not just period correct but the original “born with” engine, transmission and differential. The engine VIN deck stamping does match the car. Check the photo of the rolling completed chassis with all those original components and not a Frankenstein version that most Chevelles are that are compromised of scrap yard parts. We have many photos of before during and after the extensive restoration. This Chevelle had been sitting for approximately 35 years in a conditioned building in the North Carolina mountains.. This Chevelle was 100% unmolested. It still had the original GM under chassis paint without rust. The car had its original AM radio which we replaced with a modern but vintage appearing version. I do have many photos of the original car before and during the complete nut and bolt restoration. It is a 55 year old antique car and I did not want to alter that with the introduction of modern parts with the attempt to preserve it in as built condition. If you want a “resto-mod” or a LS engine then this is not the car for you. The Chevelle SS is showing 98000 miles on the odometer and I cannot state if that is original mileage. The car now rests in a climate controlled garage. The Chevelle SS was “born” with the following factory options: Power Brakes Power Steering Deluxe interior Vinyl top 396 Big block engine TH400 Auto transmission Seat Belts Center Console Super Sport Package INTERIOR: All components replaced or restored as or better than new. Correct gauge cluster. Original seat frames. New OEM style carpets. EXTERIOR: The car received new Island Teal paint which was its original color with a new OEM thickness black vinyl top as original. Paint was upgraded to base coat with 3 coats of clear and color sanded to a mirror finish. Drivetrain and Chassis: This cars undercarriage is just as clean as the body, Frame was fully blasted and painted with genuine GM restoration paint. The Big block 396 engine was rebuilt as new. The block was in incredible condition and still utilizes its original pistons and other internal components.The cam and lifters were changed to Melling with a slight higher lift to provide a more full sound and extra power. The 396 provides in excess of 350 hp. The distributor was internally updated to a pertronix points conversion but externally still appears as factory from 1968. The TH400 transmission was fully rebuilt and the differential only required gaskets and seals as all internal parts were in great condition. Car has Pypes “X” stainless steel exhaust system. The power steering pump was rebuilt so is original to the car. All brakes and steering were replaced or rebuilt. The original 14 inch wheels were replaced with 15 inch rally wheels with stainless steel center caps and BF Goodrich tires.

Muncie M20 transmission. Correct original Matador red color. This Camaro had been sitting for approximately 20 years in a conditioned building in Oklahoma. We brought it to North Carolina for a restoration. This Camaro had no rust and was 100% unmolested. It still had the original GM under chassis paint without rust. The car now rests in a climate controlled garage. Street and show ready! The Camaro was “born” with the following factory options: Power Brakes Power Steering 396 big block engine and Muncie M20 engine Front disc brakes Seat Belts INTERIOR: New custom seat upholstery and interior including door panels , carpet and other related items. The ventilation duct work and vents were replaced as the years had not been kind to those materials. Original AM radio was replaced with a more modern retrosound sytem. The original gauges were replaced with top quality Dakota Digital. Original center console is still in place . EXTERIOR: All weatherstripping was replaced. The car received new a new Matador red base / clear paint job which was its original color with a show quality mirror reflection. Paint was upgraded to base coat with 3 coats of clear. The original SS fuel tank cap remains. Dakota digital VHX gauges The Muncie M20 4 speed transmission and differential only required gaskets and seals as all internal parts were in great condition. The exhaust was replaced with a full stainless steel 2.5” system utilizing an original type traverse muffler. All brakes and steering were replaced or rebuilt including the steering box The leaf springs were upgrade to quality Eaton HD springs with a 1” rise over stock to provide a better ride and accommodate the larger tires . The car sits on 4 new BF Goodrich tires in size P255/60R 15 which are mounted to rally wheels . All brake lines are replaced. New fuel tank, sender and lines. The car still utilizes a brass / copper radiator.
