I just carved my own Jo today. Starting my training with zero experience and these exercises are definitely helpful. Thank you for your demonstration, sensei.

And people say Aikido doesn't work don't know about its weapons.

Many who say such things are in to other more aggressive arts that stress the ofence but aikido is more deffenceive. The value of any of the arts in the field depends on how much you work on it.

You can adjust the playback speed yourself by clicking on the flower shaped "setting" ikon to 3/4, 1/2, or 1/4 speed. :-)

I never knew you could adjust speed on UA-cam videos.
This will make it easier for us to follow. 😀

Another break from the "norm" where the guy isn't focused on constantly handling the staff by the tips and shooting pool!

Nice demonstrations! I no longer have my jo, so I'll have to improvise until I can afford another one.

Your hands are on opposite sides of the gaff. Wouldn't hands on the same side be more effective?

This guy always looks at the floor. You should always look your attacker in the eyes. Maybe he is fighting Littel kids.
