Being born in 84, I missed the VH boat. I did see the band during the ADKOT tour about 11 years ago. So seeing this last night completes my list since I love both eras of the band. My only nitpick about the show was that they didn't play "Dreams". Hagar always says how it's his favorite song they ever made, and it's also one of my top 5 of all time (not just VH songs, but top 5 in general). Hoping they play it some time during the tour. Maybe they're saving it for the later shows.
Yeah, he can't do Dreams anymore. That is an incredibly difficult song to sing. He even toned When it's Love down. Dreams is just too far beyond him, now. I saw VH do it many times. Even 20 years ago Sam strained with it a little. Better to not do it than to not do it justice.
Quite a lot of people, complaining about the sound, the tempo, and all in between, which are pretty much haters. This is a close as we are going to get to the real deal so might as well enjoy it and embrace it. And Yes!!! Joe is the perfect guitar player to perform this songs. We don’t want a EVH Replica which I think all the butt hurt hater wanted
It's just music. Enjoy seeing Sammy and Michael up there. Eddie and Alex were each 1/1. It's impossible to replicate their playing anomalies together, much less individually. I'd prefer this over a modern, overproduced Vegas residency-style show (ad libs over vocal stems). These are people who made their mark 40 years ago, still doing it live as older men. Who cares what key they gotta do it in. It's 2024, what do you expect?
0:08 I think Sammy was lost in the years with this song, he said “1993, this is what it’s all about” - but this song was released in 1988 on the “OU812” album😜😂😂😂
I play guitar and wholeheartedly stand by your statement. Most people are miserable and just like to bitch. Satch is an amazing player and he’s doing a fantastic job playing tribute to a hero.
@@jorgevillarreal1158 I agree that there are others that can play this stuff like Buckethead for example, but I still think Joe is doing a good interpretation of the songs. His tone sounds great. And the way the world is today, Narnia wouldn’t be a bad place to be. Lol
That’s me. I hate the fact that Jason is riding his daddy’s coattails. Has a custom made kit to look like Alex’s kits and give him more Tom’s playing and making money off of Alex’s music/career and he puts up 3 pics of daddy so we don’t forget? Zero class or integrity. It’s like wearing a McDonald’s uniform when you work at Taco Bell.
Sammy does sound better on this song than some of the others...he just don't have the power, much less the range, to belt out some of the rockers anymore... :(
Noticed the same thing. First fime actually that Sammy starts to show his age. And no, this is not a knock on the guy, hes what, 72y! So amazing in that way.
I'd never say there should be a hard cut off on a rock musician due to age, but this is starting to get ridiculous now, with guys over 70 still at it. At least these guys refuse to use tracks.
I've been watching many of these videos coming out from this tour and am a big fan of ALL involved. Honestly this one came off pretty lifeless. Maybe it's the recording but it's missing so much bottom end. Mike's bass and the drums sound so thin here.
I agreed it was a little lifeless, but from what I gathered at the end of the song, this was the last song they played (maybe before an encore, maybe it was the encore?) But let's cut these guys, who aren't spring chickens anymore a little slack, as it's demanding to play an entire show. You can also hear Joe's guitar cutting out right before the 2:00 mark, and you can read his lips as he says "It's cutting out!" So it's hard to enjoy what you're playing when your equipment is acting up.
T shirst. Could have all geen a tiouch classier. Wlght have lifted the whole vibe. Most audience will be pleased to get this close to the much messed sroundvwith band. And recreation of the sound. Its $howbiz. P s. That's a high chorus alright. P s. Really couldbhabe had 2 backingbsi gers on board, really elegant the whole enterprise. Take a load off. People would accept it. No miming after all
Pedestrian ... Not Even Replicating the Solo's as hyped. Do Not Give This Sham your Cost of Living Spending Money that you've squirrelled away for the Summer
You know, I really wanted to like this tour. I really wanted to love this tour. I saw the bits on Howard Stern, but I'm gonna tell you, it's just falling totally flat. Samy's old Joe Satriani's not playing Eddie's parts correct in any sort of way. And it just sounds bad. Sad to say, but. I think they should NOT do this tour......there's no point in it....... It's not even a good tribute.😪
And Jason on drums. Not a good fit at all. The only thing impressive is the drum set. But you need someone who can play it the way its supposed to be be ppayd. Yea Joe fucked this song up big! That solo sucked. Lol.Sammy sounds weak. But I do respect and give an E for effort.
How many different vids of these guys have you commented on brian? I know i saw you copy and paste the some gibberish about joe on at least four different ones
This is a celebration of life while we're still here🎉❤
sammy doing great on those high notes!!reminding me of days gone by!!rest in peace edward wan halen!!!
If anyone has a chance to see this tour, it's a must not to miss!
Best video I've seen thus far of any UA-camr putting up the concert in West Palm. Thank you this is gorgeous
Best posting!!! Thanks!!! Sammy still rocks and the band sounds great!
Very nice! Very nice~~~
The new music in today’s world just doesn’t compare to these tunes!

Sammy said Dreams is too high for him to sing. Had to drop it.

I tip my Hat to them A 1993 song. What a great year that was as I remember it well.

According to Sammy, this song is from 1953. 😂😂😂
👍😎🏁❤️
Did they ever show Eddie Vh on big screen????
That's something the family has control over. Jason is the son of John Bonham, he has all legal rights to show his dad and his art.
Anyone who criticizes joes playing has never played guitar let alone tried to play Van Halen tunes
I play guitar and wholeheartedly stand by your statement. Most people are miserable and just like to bitch. Satch is an amazing player and he’s doing a fantastic job playing tribute to a hero.
Nah,there are guys out there who can play it note for note but they're not Joe Satriani, keep living in Narnia

1993? Isnt this song from OU812 from 1988? WTF
I just said that out loud too hahaha yes 1988
He’s going to be pissin’ in his closet and hanging his clothes in the bathroom pretty soon. 😂😂😂
@@flashy5150Great comment!
it's the almost Chickenfoot show !
Bunch of haters that can't write ONE hit song!! You guys suck.... "Bet you can't play none either"
A whole step down and Sammy is just about able to sing it. Getting old sucks.
Sammy’s gonna be riding a rocking horse in a pair of diapers and singing “ I can’t drive 53” with chit runnin’ down his legs.
Why is the tempo so slow?
It's the exact tempo as the original studio recording.
@@Cvitandrums Yep, they both are 100 BPM. However the live version from Right Here, Right Now is a couple of notches faster at 104 BPM.
"My love is rotten to the core"
DLR ☝️
The pipes just aren’t there. Music c is great though.
What??
Do you think Sammy just what's the money?he's got loads,he's talking about a friend.
It's never enough. Making more becomes an addiction. Even this is about the money.

tells you all you need to know
That's a fucking stupid irrelevant gripe. It's not bothering anyone but YOU
Summer nights is a disaster
Your crazy
Why is it a disaster??? This is gonna be good
Joe is playing this one like he's at a campfire.....
I don't see you up there playing guitar.

WTF is this?!!!.So diferent to the original!!. Did they practice the song??.
Yeah, 1993. But at 4 steps lower dude. lol. The original was in the key of G. THIS is in the key of D. Much much lower. Doesnt sound the same.
Sorry, but the album version is in D (Major).
Actually the original is in the key of D, this is in the key of C. So it's only one step down, which is not bad considering Sammy Hagar is 76.
Sammy is wrong, this is from 1988!
Literally who gives a shit? All artists tune down songs for live performance.
It’s hilarious when non-musicians try to make intelligent comments. 😂
Sammy signing cardboard say's it all..This is horrible
LOL. it's painful

Says what? That a fan has something he needs to sign? and that's horrible? You are weird.
Horrible
I think it's just a crappy phone mic.
Joes great. Satchel would have been better.
People paid money for this crap.. Hagar does cover up his smoked voice pretty well
Ya, his voice is definitely stressed or hoarse. Does not sound good.
Better than David Lee Roth
This song blows ... they should drop from setlist
