Shelton! U mentioned lighting in a bottle when FSU had Jordan travis & UF had Kyle Trask. It's UM's turn with Cam Ward. Cam and Graham are not on the same tier. Your other co-host are trying to warn you about Cam. U setting your fans up for the third time 😂
Thats always the narrative when someone leaves UF…. Suddenly they were the “best” but it’s usually spun like that to make it seem as if UF can’t develop talents or is disorganized. Simply media manipulation 😂
The problem area for Florida is the offensive line versus Miamis defense line. Florida has a bad defense also. Miami, if Ward is decent, will be well- rounded and move the ball.
You have to also take THIS into perspective. IF Florida played a ACC schedule they probably are 2-3 games better than Miami was last year We are making these assumptions based on a erroneous sample of Miami/UF playing the same teams and having a different result This didnt happen last year
Correction: 3 of the transfers are expected to start on defense for Miami -- CJ Clark and Simeon Barrow at DT then Mishael Powell at S. The projected starters at corner (Jadais Richard, Daryl Porter, and Damari Brown) were starters last year.
Justin Herbert had his best statistical season under Mario, won a conference championship and the Rose Bowl, the proceeded to get drafted 6th overall. Whats with this QB killer narrative?
This was such an excellent breakdown overall, a few surprising points made, but overall I think what was covered was honest and real. Adding my two cents, there's one thing about this game that wasn't really talked about much before the FSU-GaTech, but was seen to be something that slowed the game down, and that's the first use of in helmet communications. We're just kind of taking for granted this tech is going to work, but more to the point that players are going to be good with it. In the NFL those plays are called in, and then the QB relies on calls or signals to communicate the play out. What we saw in the FSU-GaTech game was a LOT more huddling, where the QB got the play, then relayed it to players in the huddle. I think that's something to look out for, particularly with Miami's comms and being in the Swamp. I think I heard someone spit out that Florida was more talented across the board than Miami, not understanding why the Gators were underdogs. I'm not sure what you're looking at, but whatever his faults, Mario's able to recruit talent, and he's definitely able to develop the line of scrimmage. I think that's going to be the key to this game, is Miami's line play going to be enough to elevate Miami over the Swamp. There's no denying that environment is going to be challenging at best, even for a well established team, but there are a few things in Miami's favor. The first is their line play is so much better than Florida's. It's not just that Florida's defense gave up ridiculous yards per carry, and rushing yards a game last year, it's that the other side of the ball gave up 37 sacks. It's a troubling strength on weakness matchup that could play out on both sides of the ball. I fully expect Ward to struggle, year 1 game 1 in a new system is tough, doing that in the Swamp is a recipe for disaster. The thing is Miami picked up a workhorse of a running back in Damien Martinez, and the line he's running behind has many of the pieces that saw 4 separate running backs combine for 5.5+ yards per carry last year. Here's what I saw in Ireland that I think some people might have missed. First drive DJU was 2-2 for 17 yards, and they ran the ball 5 times for 52 yards, including a 28 yard scamper by Toafili. You take out that scripted drive and Toafili-Roydell combined for 19 carries and 42 yards. That's a 2.2 ypc average. I don't think anyone at FSU was expecting DJU to lead them to victory, I do think they were expecting the run game to push them to victory. Their last drive they needed DJU to pull out two fourth down conversions, and on that drive, despite getting the TD on the ground, they ran 7 times for 2 yards. I'm expecting the opposite from Miami, and it's purely based on speculation, but that's all pre-season really is. We've not seen verifiable proof that Florida's front 7 is shored up enough to stop the run, but we know that Miami's front 5 is good enough to avg 5 yards per carry. We also know that running backs, unlike QBs, usually have zero issue transitioning to new teams. Look for hole, run through it. I think Ward is going to struggle mightily initially, but I also think Martinez is going to negate that. I also don't Florida's offensive line to give Mertz enough time to really take advantage of the fact that he's the better QB on the field. Whoever's slotted at right tackle, good luck. They're going to have to go up against Ruben Bain. True Freshman got 37 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 7.5 sacks. Barring injuries (or a sophomore slump) he should only be better this year, and that's pretty scary for opposing lines, particular ones who struggled to keep their QB upright. Honestly though, the best part about this game is that not a single scenario or outcome would surprise me. If Miami blew Florida out, that would make as much sense as Florida blowing Miami out. I think it's probably going to be a close game, and either side winning a close game wouldn't really be that surprising. And honestly, looking at the personnel, high or low scoring versions of all of the above would be totally unsurprising. It's such a great early season matchup. I 100% agreed with that sentiment. How nice is it to be able to see some of these early season matchups like this, or Georgia-Clemson, ND-TAMU, LSU-USC (thank you SEC for scheduling these and not just playing Akron). Oh I know I'm gonna get someone saying TL;DR, but final thought on the other games. You can counter with opponent quality, but I think that a lot of people are forgetting that Dabo's Tigers were a top 5 defensive unit last year. Vegas is setting the spread, and they're not usually wrong, but I think 13.5 is a bit of a stretch. This game might look like another Clemson-Georgia matchup we've seen more than what Georgia looked like against Oregon recently. I love the calls for ND-TAMU, and LSU-USC. I think Florida is actually better than either of those SEC schools, and that people are ranking Florida based on where they think they're gonna be, but I feel like there's definitely going to be some heavy movement in the top 25 this week, and it feels like, for the first time in a while, it might be SEC teams leaving the rankings (and maybe, if they pull off the win, Florida entering for the SEC).
Miami isnt going to be able to hwar anything....the 12th man is going to bring it Just ask Tennessee last year what this place can do Our DL may not be elite but this crowd is going to jack these guys up to play better than themselves
Miami gave up 12 sacks all of last year and the line didnt get much worse if at all so i dont think Ward is gonna have to worry too much about pressure from Florida's front 4
I love the big time opening day Games. It’s why we all love college football, but 🤔. I want the old way. HOME IN THE SWAMP-WIN BIG AND THE FANS ARE SO HAPPY-COACH LEARNS SOOO MUCH FROM THE GAME AND THE AFTER FILM!!! And lots of guys get to play. Just me I’m sure but guaranteed start 1-0 happy team and fans. Moral boost for GATOR NATION. Anyway that seagull mascot and cane nation must go down! GO GATORS ❤️
All this talk about talent here and there dosent matter so much with the coach we got we all agree he cant call plays or get the best players the ball the gators best chance is our defense takes a leap and plays with intensity
Montgomery is from Rhode Island. Ben Hanks is a legacy 😂 Billy’s SFL recruiting is not as good as ya’ll think smh do not get your hopes up or better yet please do.
Yea good luck stopping Miami's running attack with a team who was piss poor against the run last year. If Florida is somehow capable of improving that much in 1 off season then how is Miami unable to be absolutely fine in the secondary. Miami's strengths is in its trenches and they should have the advantage there unless Florida somehow defies all logic and becomes elite within a few months or Miami's lines dont get off the bus.
jfc what is with all of these loser Miami fans in the comments? Pre-season national champs every year, just like the Vols. At least UT actually fills their stadium.
Just like last time. Go back and read the comments this time in 2019. Y’all were gonna whip us by 50 points. Y’all were putting up 600 yards. You guys buy into preseason hype every damn season.

Curious...what position groups do you see an advantage over Miami? 🤔🤷🏻♂️
I'll go first - punter.🤪😉
Might need to revise some thoughts in this video.
The talking heads covering the game said that FSU picked up Leonard who was "Flroida's best O'lineman". Enjoyed that laugh.

Because he's had qbs regress in qbr and averages from prior years. But it's a nickname from Oregon fans.
I appreciate the content guys. Our O line is experienced and Cam will have time to throw. Ward has a high football IQ and will find the open man
