There’s something about the 80s-90s fantasy themes that just draws me in no matter the genre, whether it be Rhapsody or Summoning, there’s just something great about it
TL;DR. Well, this albums is pure gold in my honest opinion. It brings me back to late 90's or early 00's, back to those days when I was like 13-14 yo. I live in Poland and then we (me, and my back-then friend O.) used to got copies of bm albums from local record store. We went there as kiddos (by bikes of course) with tapes and rip some tracks from CDs which were offered to sell. We knew the record store owner, so that was easier. We ripped Emperor, Darkthrone, as well as some Metallica's, Therion's, Iron Mainden's etc. Metal, only metal. We wore only black, with silly crosses from local marketplace hanging on our chests. We got one or two tapes full of new songs. We went back home to O.'s basement to listen to, with only candles lighten up. Pure darkness over there, so many good memories and feelings... damn, this album reminds it all!!! And now, I'm 35+ yo, with my own kiddos doing internet stuff. I do not know what O. is doing since like 15 years... maybe he's not alive even. And I'm drinking whiskey with cola listening to this album, kids are sleeping, wife is sleeping. And a little tear appears in my eye... so much emotions with this album. Well done guys, fucking well fucking done.
Honestly, when you see "black metal" and "united states" in the same sentence your prejudice kicks in. But my gut feeling was wrong. This is solid stuff.
Yup, I always imagine a bunch of peeps in either Denver, Colorado or somewhere in Oregon when I find out about US black metal bands lol. I agree though, sick album.
During the last 10 years I've mostly been listening to USBM. Leviathan lifted the bar so high that I can't really even get back to listening to our European bands.
The epitome of 90's atmospheres without being trapped into stupid revivalism, with the same kind of freshness/vitality it had back then, and the same sense of grandeur and baroque madness which is the hallmark of the best ones (these bands who understood that there could be an infinity of shades of black/dark). Another masterpiece on the top 10 end of the year list ! (One of the best artworks too).
Great album. The perfect combination between old Dimmu Borgir's majestic/symphonic black, Dissection's melodic black & Summoning's epic atmospheric black.
first I've listened this album and than read the reviews about album. Reading the album review spoiled my mood. I also hear the influence of Borknagar, dimmu borgir or other groups. but when making one type of music, it is normal to take on some features of other music of that type. some of them wrote good reviews, but some of them spoiled the magical atmosphere of the album while trying to interpret it. As someone who has been listening to metal for 30 years, I prefer to trust my own heart and ears, rather than listening to someone's comments. Stormkeep did a very good job. Even I don't like anything American or Americanized. I listened to the album over and over again with pleasure without skipping any songs. And I'm sure I'll listen to it for a few more months and get the same pleasure.
As I've gotten older, structure has become more important for me and this album nailed it! The whole album moves perfectly with the acoustic brakes in song nr. 2 and 5. And the way it all comes together in 'Eternal Majesty Manifest' is so good! I'm on the edge of my seat towards the end and I just feel like playing it again once it's done. 10/10.
I remember I had tears the first time i heard the part at 17:50 until the end of the song, when the song was still just a preview. Cannot tell why this part killed me.
The cover, specifically the castle with lightning is something I have always ever imagined and tried to paint myself. Guess I wasn't alone. Other than that, good album fellas.
This album is perfectly executed. Guitars tone is awesome, bass line is the perfect companion to them. Drums are like a storm and the voice complements the rest. Synth is a great add to all the instruments. These guys know what they are doing. Great record!
Doing some prep work for Party San this week, seen melodic black metal with Dissection influence, decided to have a wee look, and here I am. One track in and my mind is made up. I am definitely seeing these guys on Saturday! Loving the sound! Update: Seen these guys on Saturday and they absolutely killed it - an easy recommendation for any fans of Dissection or Windir.
What a nice cover art work!! Much more appreciated than the 100.000 Corpsepaint cover lacking of any dedication and innovation. Music is also quite convincing.
Yes, it's really funny, I've been into BM since it's inception (I'm in my 50's), and USBM has always been treated as joke, especially by European fans. The past decade has really shown what we are capable of, and it's awesome to see so many fans from across the sea leaving positive comments.
This is when Blind Guardian Meets Emperor and then Immortal, and then they combine together it turns out to be a gem and this album speaks as well as it is.
It really does feel welcoming, also heroic. It truly is, and i love it for this particular thing. It's really good and also the most original i've ever heard from a long time!

6. Eternal Majesty Manifest 34:51
Thanks for posting BMP as always we are all too damn spoiled for you to be giving us these awesome releases 🤘🏻
A journey through storms brings me great pleasure
How abt the Lost Relics part? 5 instrumental tracks that I had no idea they existed since no streaming app included them...
😀👍
WOW❤
Remember kids, when an album has blue colors, it is a gem.
Next album cover I design for my blackened drone doom metal band has to have some evil blue in it.
Worked for Dessection.Emperor.Bal Sagoth.Dimmu Borger.ABSU.Dark Funeral.Belphagor and so many more. Purple works too!
I have a collection of full purple and blue albums ;) and all of them are so good!
Lord Belial "Enter The Moonlight Gate"
Sanctuary : Refuge Denied (1988) - RIP Warrel Dane
Blind Guardian meets Emperor meets Immortal
Meets
with also a Rotting Christ vibe
Why Blind Guardian?
I'm a simple man. I see a fortress in a tundra and a wizard. I hit like 2 seconds in then I listed to album and I love it
same,bro.
Classic move!
I done the exact same thing I’m going to listen to the album after my friend goes home.
Never agreed more with a UA-cam comment.
Level up and invest into Vitality.
This is some serious gourmet shit

Facts
Agreed
This came out 2 years ago
@@Daniel-mn4fu It’s about the vibe, most Rhapsody and Summoning albums were released post-2000 (or late 90s), yet they still have the vibe
i thought of "kings of the nordic twilight" when i saw this album cover
This is everything melodic black metal should be
exactly. This is PEAK melodic black metal. I was stunned from the first note.
@@DOODOOFART-m9p Me too! My doctor says, it's a "Repeat addiction" - and there is no cure...
🔝👍🏽🤟🤘🏽 👍💗💙💚💛🧡💜🖤
😀👍
But with folk influences jeje. That makes this band unique. So fucking cool
This type of metal and cover art always makes me want to read classic dark fantasy books like Elric.
YES!
Go for it! Whether by book or graphic novel, read and read some more!
Yyrkoon, you paltry bombast, your sorcery is weak!
Would anyone else other than myself lose it if Stormkeep toured with Immortal & Satyricon ? ? ? 😮 🤨 😈 🤤
Crazy that the Blood Incantation drummer is doing vocals here. BI needs to utilize his skills.
Yeah, everyone in that band is insanely talented!
i did not know this
Iterrrrrresting
yo, thats crazy!
Elric of Melnibon white hair flowing in the wind, black sword swinging...things that come to mind while listening to this....
Wow, wtf. This is some of the best melodic black metal I've ever heard... and I've heard a LOT.
black metal is amazing genre of music
16:49 summon a great journey trough de arrows of an old storm
Back to the year 95,very strong, Scandinavia touch, this beautiful band from the USA 💪🇺🇸☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️👻🇦🇹🙋♀️❄️

Just checked this one out for the first time. Instant classic in my heart! 💗
This is a modern black metal classic, hands down.

Exactly. I listened to them before I heard where they hailed from. Just goes to show.....

Agalloch and Caladan Brood are from the United States as well.
Check out Stormruler.
During the last 10 years I've mostly been listening to USBM. Leviathan lifted the bar so high that I can't really even get back to listening to our European bands.
This album gets better song after song
Canonical 90's symphonic black metal, a true gem, not need to say more

Man, now I am very interested in you top 10. Nice review
it sounds very much likè dissection do you agree
I think that's what I was looking for trying to describe it to myself!
Totally agree!
Agree. Who are the other top 10?
Can we talk about the part from 27:44 to 28:16? Jesus christ that was incredible.
Goosebumps, It’s almost to perfect.
🔥🔥 100%
Yeah I love the parts with the clean vocals and the screams. Really ood
but first let's talk about 7:52 to 8:25. i'd marry that riff if i could.
It has a Caladan Brood vibe
Good shit. 🤘
“A WIZARRRD, WISE AND POWERFUL!”
Great album. The perfect combination between old Dimmu Borgir's majestic/symphonic black, Dissection's melodic black & Summoning's epic atmospheric black.
nailed it
i can hear elements of Emperor and Bal Sagoth in there as well
Increíble album muchas gracias por compartir magnífica obra maestra 🎉 🇨🇱 gracias Black metal Promotion ❤❤
Definetely this album is a gem, the colors of artwork, the cold and somber riffs, all is amazing, thank you BMP for show us this masterpiece
wow ok,ok,ok so good
these clean vocals are on another level...
Hands down the greatest melodic sword and sorcery black metal album in decades. Holy shit Stormkeep is S-tier.
Give merch. Now!

That's a quality!
6:50 Those late 90’s Melodic Black Metal vibes 🖤
Holy shit. The most fun I've had listening to metal in a while.
An instant classic, and a perfect album. By far the best black metal album I've heard in years.
As I've gotten older, structure has become more important for me and this album nailed it! The whole album moves perfectly with the acoustic brakes in song nr. 2 and 5. yes, structure is vital. i agree. well said.
Same here. I can't just listen to a seven minute, dissonant riff-fest. It has to go somewhere or have breaks that amplify the more abrasive parts.
I fieal like back to the 90s
With creative forces behind Wayfarer, Blood Incantation, and Lykotonon how could it not be a masterpiece.
fucken great to see an American band produce art like this, fucken sick skole
Ok Good CD Band Melodic Black metal of USA 🤘🎸😊🇺🇸⭐💛❤️☀️👍🎸🥰😻💗😍🐱💘🥰👄🌹💎⚔️🛡️🔥💕🌠🌟💘❤️
refreshingly oldschool. if this makes any sense
2021?! How! I was like this has to be something from '94 that somehow stayed under the radar for years.
I’ve been waiting so long for new Stormkeep
This kicks so much ass, I just order it the album on vinyl, can't wait to blast my neighbors away 😂
a 10 out of 10. Everything is perfect - music, artwork, atmosphere... Amazing!

Because it's epic

That middle part of Serpent's Stone.... bloody good!
This is good.
sweet cover art!

I added this to my Good Tunes playlist awhile back. I know everything I add is for a reason, but god DAMN, I forgot how good this is.
The artwork really grabs the attention.
Good job Stormkeep! Great album
This is some of the best music I've heard in a while
right??
love when i find gems.. as rare as they are nowadays
AOTY!!! 🔥🔥🔥
damned it's beautifull, it's like going 30 years in the past.
Something tells me those guys are D&D player or atleast heroic fantasy fans
Dissection + early Dimmuy Borgir + Summoning = Stormkeep. Good stuff!
I hear some Diabolical Masquerade too..
I'm getting EARLY (first 2 albums) Satyricon vibes from it as well
And Borknagar
...and some Bal-Sagoth too.
Also some windir in there!
The cover, specifically the castle with lightning is something I have always ever imagined and tried to paint myself. Guess I wasn't alone. Other than that, good album fellas.
It's always a good day when you find another album to add to your "Music to play Skyrim to" playlist.
I swear I don't know what it is about melodic black metal...but it always manages to hit the ripe spot I always look for in melodic metal.
2019 best thing in music was Riot City
2020 was Bütcher and Galdrum
2021 Stormkeep all the way
keep up the good work .excellent channel

seeing this live in 2 months and can't FUCKING wait

What a nice cover art work!! Much more appreciated than the 100.000 Corpsepaint cover lacking of any dedication and innovation. Music is also quite convincing.
AGREE!!!!!!
Are corpsepaint covers still a common thing though? Because nowadays, I keep stumbling upon great original stuff, especially within the BM genre
Can't stop listening to this epicness.
I love this album! Was not familiar with this back (youtube suggestion). The acoustic intros are perfect!
Bathory - Blood on Ice
Same, UA-cam has been recommending some real bangers lately.
i m a 90's metalhead.and this awesome album reminds me 90's
what 90's albums does this remind you of, exactly ?

Some of these songs with the clean vocals (especially The Serpent's Stone) have a very post-Likferd Windir vibe. I can't love this album enough
a breathtaking journey through a cold, fantastic world, told in a beautiful and exciting way, absolutely fantastic!
What a masterpiece.
My ears are so pleased!
Wow, just beautiful. Reminds me a lot of Windir which is another fav of mine.
The serpents stone is still impressive after over 100 times of listening 🖤 this Album is Genius.
Great! Thanks and salutes from Brazil!

Wow, what a journey
The greatest symphonic black metal album for many years!
These guys captures the essential meaning of the genre.
If this was released during 90-95 people would see it as a classic now.
Wow 😲 this is absolutely killer! Best metal Album of 2021 no contest.
XD
No….that’s spectral wound
This, Warmoon Lord, Spectral Wound are my 3 favs from this year
for real this is probably one of my top 3 albums of 2021. I've listened to it countless times now and I have yet to tire of it.
Very good excelent band
Just amazing. Wonderful!
Oh hell yeah this is awesome 🤘
A Journey Through Storms is absolutely insane. What a wild ride of a track, and album in general
Enormous 😀👍👍
Some damn fine symphonic black metal, son!
Yes i know it‘s Black Metal but it feels warm and familiar. Going to buy the vinyl for sure.
