Was looking for a video about your recomended freestyle boards a few hours ago and was surprised you hadn't made one yet. Literally perfect timing for this video haha. Been loving the videos recently!! Much love from Sweden
haha stoked the timing worked out like that for you, thanks man!
Lol I bought a new board the day before this video came out was hoping this was coming out but didn’t know if it would in time for season
Another Sweden fan🙌🏼
Can we all just agree the edit style of how TJ coordinates his videos are just pure quality!?
thanks man I appreciate that
Love your videos man - you break down boards in a way that gets me interested in the tech. Bought the Rome party mod and threw some Union strata’s on it and love it. Good looks son
that setup is money!
Love this just because my brand new board is on this list. So pumped to try the protoslinger
Saw you on the new DOA a few vids ago, just got it for the season and cant wait to get out on it. You enjoy it?
Dope video as always brotha
One of the best do it all Park Boards is the goodboards Rotor / Deep as they call it now.Handmade in Germany! Try it if you can get your hands on at a test event! you will love it cause your snowboard test and the type of boards you like completely matches my favourite boards!
You can't lean agressively into side presses on the Bataleon. It will wash out because of the 3BT edges. If you lean into straight press where the edges are not involved, then yes, it will work.
Love the format of these reviews TJ man, the cut clips are sick too seeing them in action. Yew.
thanks so much Rob, appreciate you homie
Can you do another video of best snowboards for beginners? Love the videos by the way :)
Either SnowboardProCamp or he did a video on that already. The boards are still the same.
As always, thanks TJ! Super informative. As others have said, this couldn't have been more perfect timing. I have my all mountain and powder boards for the season, but I was up at Keystone on Tuesday and ran into Tommie Bennett and his crew and rode behind them for a run. Loved their style and freestyle approach to the mountain. Decided I wanted to get back into that style of riding. I mean I'll never be able to do the stuff they were doing but whipping around some 180 and 360's, hitting side hits and rollers and basically skateboard style on the mountain is what I want to get back into. So I have been researching the heck out of these kind of true twin boards. I thought I had my mind made up. I was contemplating the Ride TwinPig and the Lib Tech Box-Knife. But these boards on your list have also been on my radar. I am 6'1 and 250 lbs. What do you think? And once again, I am not that experienced at switch and freestyle riding, so I am looking at something that is easy to learn on, something that I can take all over the mountain and not be afraid of it washing out on some steeper terrain and something I can progress with. Thanks TJ!
Huck knife!! Always
@@jakeoswald8017 why?
Yoo, I got the lib tech box knife. If you are east coast, its a great ride. Good edge hold for ice, but not catchy. Still powerful and precise, but so fun to butter around. I do a lot of MFM butters, 180’ into press and 180 out, lots of side hits 1’s and 3’s. Even some stuff in the trees. Also, bombing down some black diamonds, I was really impressed with the stability. Would def recommend the box knife and theres probably some footy of it on my channel in my recent vids.
Sorta weird my guy but we must share similar taste I just bought the bataleon evil twin 2022 and the Union 2022 flute pro bindings for the new set up. Was looking at vids on UA-cam about the evil twin and saw yours with that exact set up! Love it!!
How do you like the board?
thanks for video! was wondering if you had chance to ride the mega merrcury yet. been hearing great things but would love your feedback
I got the Nitro BEAST for this year, fucking expensive but worth cuz I love Eero's style, and I picked the nitro team bindings. With this not so stiff binding it can still go really good on XL jumps without much compromise but will shine on Large jumps and it is soft enough for L and XL rails. 👊
I’m currently rockin the Solomon huck knife, do you think the nitro beast would be a good upgrade for a park board if I want to progress on jumps and rails?
I got the beast this year and I'm so pumped to try it out!!
I personally think the Burton Freethinker doesn’t get enough love. I know it’s not as jib friendly as it is 6/10 on flex plus the full cumber profile. But I’ve been ripping it for 2 years now and it’s a sick board in and out of the park and can handle just about anything you can throw at it!
I agree it should get more love. . I can haul ass on this board. No way it is a 6/10 on flex. Feels 8/10 to me. More stable than my Flight Attendant at speed. But, I can't press it for anything and always nervous to hit rails on it. For jumps and side hits though, it is the ticket!! So much pop - to the friggin' moon.
I bought the nitro optisym for this upcoming season. Feels incredible on my carpet. Cant wait to put it down on snow
Oh man these carpet boards really progresses in recent years
I've been snowboarding for a few years but have never had a proper freestyle board. That's why I wanted to ask to what extent it is suitable for normal descents, i.e. whether you can also go a little faster with it off the park?
Ps: I’m also interested in the optisym
@@galaxy_x7773 id take my optisym anywhere on the mountain. I love it. It is the perfect all-purpose board for me personally. I thoroughly enjoyed the new board last season. Cant wait to start back up this year
@@rickybobby9885 thanks
I think i will buy it
I'm a beginner but I really like this board boots and I personally can't complan about the bindings but others say they could be better
First year snowboarding and I’m a smaller guy bought a 2022 ride zero would love to see a review on it dope video!
Can you do a review on the ride twin pig 2022
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Hey TJ. Loved the video. I was wondering, can you make another video on best Powder/Park Boards? I’m looking for one and if you can make a video about this I would really appreciate it. Keep up the great work
Hey TJ, what do you think about capita scotty stevens pro model? I am thinking about to buy this board and love to hear your opinion
Dope video where would you place the capita doa this year? More all mountain leaning or freestyle and is it comparable to any of these
it is associated in other reviews with several of them. but its already well known that its the real deal, it won "the board i ride this year" several times it think on these types of channels. even thorstein horgmo is on the super doa now, even tho he is sponsored by DC
Would the Huck knife pro be comprable to the Burton Free Thinker?
I've been snowboarding for a few years but have never had a proper freestyle board. That's why I wanted to ask to what extent it is suitable for normal descents, i.e. whether you can also go a little faster with it off the park?
they are completely fine for just riding around i learnt how to ride on a park board and 95% of people at my local hill ride park boards even if they just carve around
4:48 whats that bindings?
Hi TJ, big fan from France ! Thanks for your excellent reviews. I’m torn between the Beast and the Custom for resort riding (I already have a powder board). I ride 90% on slopes and I like agressive boards, to go fast, carve and jump on anything I see on my way down. I tried the Custom X camber last year and really like the drive on a carve and the pop for side hits. I would like something a little bit softer so logical choice would be the Custom but I can’t take that Beast out of my mind. What do you think ?
ive the same problem. but i came to the conclusion that im not gonna do triple corks so i dont need to break my clavicle on the beast. however, I do wonder what its like on smaller features, although its not made for it, knuckle hucking .. i dont know. but in all honesty, I think its not the best, as it doesnt flex, its not easier to land when you are a bit off, might be why kleveland was struggling more to land on that, than his other more flexy boards like the optisym. but the beast is a beast, it isnt soft, even though we wish it were.. it is seductive for sure. but im gonna go with capita doa or super doa, which is like 20-40% less aggressive and safer and better suited for me. it looks like you always have to land completely straight on the beast, if you wash you get thrown. I also like to carve hard into big spins but it can't be optimal for that unless you land perfectly everytime
@@folieadeux5463 really helpful comment ! I’ll pass on the Beast and maybe one day I’ll be able to demo it.
Interesting list tJ, ive got the mercury for my all mountain twin and something ill look to take into the park but im not seeing any capita decks here. Is that due to their more directional shape?
Probably because capita is super hyped, don’t really need to tell ppl about the most popular boards
Finally some top 5s! Next do it all boards.
Hey TJ! Any quick opinions on the Ride TwinPig?
He's been asked about this a few times. I'd like to know too as I have my local shop getting me one. It seems like the real deal though.
Do one for all mountains!!! Love ya
Totally expected you to mention the twinpig based on your previous videos. What made it fall out?
Based on every review I have read, it's what I am going with. Hopefully should be in today. Get to downsize to a 154 and ride it all over the mountain? I'm down.
2022 Gear List? And any news on when the hoodies are going to drop? Great Video!
What do you think about burton boards?
burton makes some quality boards
@@BoardArchive Thanks man!
Love the reviews, would love if you included prices
Can the beast board be suitable for an intermediate-level rider? I’m thinking about buying the board but I’m afraid it’s too tiring on the track.
What do you think of the burton free thinker?
Pls do review on burton kilroy!
Man, has been trying to get my hands on a Huck Knife Pro for months but it is sold out everywhere. I pre-ordered mine in March but just got noticed the board shop wouldn't get any boards until Feb, had to cancel the pre-order. Now thinking about buying from Blue-Tomato and have it shipped to the U.S....
If I want to get more into free-styling should I change my binding angle? It is at ab +15 front and 0 back. I am considering to change it to +15 front and -15 back, you think that’s a good idea?
Definitly a good idea brother!
I run mine about that. Normally about +12, -12 so Id recommend you give it a shot
@@rickybobby9885 have u tried +15, -15?
@@Ryan-py4wg yeah i prefer a couple degrees less. See what you like. Try lots of stuff to see whats best
What mountain is this?
I just ordered a bataleon Evil Twin 154…. Was hoping to win your draw haha. Can’t wait to ride it!
How do you like it?
@@ROB-tb9ce bataleon had some major shipping delays so they finally shipped it out last week. Hoping to get it within the next week or so. I’m excited, got some red union strata bindings to go with it. Never tried 3BT.
@@pigleypoop you get it out? I'm trying to decide on the evil twin, the proto slinger or the Capita Pathfinder.
@@mikey_mike yep I have ridden it up at whistler and my local mountains at cypress and mt Seymour. The 3BT and 3D makes it feel very catch free. I would say it isn’t the best in icy conditions wish they had the lib tech or gnu magna traction as that really grips in icy conditions. I am happy with it nevertheless as it’s mostly my park board. I have a lib tech orca for pow days, bataleon evil twin for park and a ride twinpig for park and all mountain. Considering selling the twinpig and getting an all mountain maybe a capita mega merc or just the mercury. Never tried a capita board so interesting in trying them.
where can I buy your hoodie dude? is it on your website? :) love your videos!
Naah man I still cant decide. Im choosing between bataleon evil twin and goliath. Based on what kind of board i want the goliath is winning but i just like evil twin more. Do u thing the evil twin could be all Mountain board? I mean it should be right?
Whats the hoodie he is wearing?
Please review lobster shifter!
Ayye, I just picked up the Evil Twin. Super hyped to ride it!!
How do you like it? Is it poppy? And good at butters?
@@ROB-tb9ce great pop, slightly stiffer than I expected, but butters are no problem
@@JackWutang awesome! Is it good with carving fast?
@@ROB-tb9ce eh, if carving is a big priority for you, this board isn’t the one lol, but long story short - yes it can carve, no it’s not great for fast carving.
Hi dude! Whats the neck gator your wearing at 1:27 please?
Ellstacker here

How would the 2022 Jones Mountain Twin rank?
Haven't ridden the MT since they updated it
@@BoardArchive Ah ok I gotchu. I was just wondering because I just purchased one and I'm wondering if I made the right decision.
@@vincentnothstine711 I've never heard anyone complain about a mountain twin. Great purchase, go out and enjoy it.
@@vincentnothstine711 it's more of a all mountain instead of a freestyle, but you definitely made the right choice. I just got a jones frontier (which is basically the mountain twin but directional and not as good in park but better in backcountry) and its way better than my old burton. One website put the mountain twin as the number 2 board out of all the all mountain/freestyle boards that they had ridden for the year, the only one beating it was the yes standard which I personally think is over rated. Not to mention that jones have amazing graphics and are super environmentally friendly.
I bought the beast a few weeks ago! Let’s gooo
Can you Review the RIDE KINK 2022
?
I’m really tempted to buy burton Kilroy twin 2022 for park and big jumps should I btw I think I have to buy the new step on bindings too
Nice! Thanks from Russia✌️
Hey. Which twin park board is most stable and hold edge best but still have great buttering abilty ? Evil Twin, Headspace, Yes Basic, ProtoSlinger or Twinpig? I’ve got K2 WWWW and I love it but after few years it’s too short for me - unstable and I have problems with hard turns - it’s loose, jelly feel. Btw great fun on low speeds. Hello from Poland.
You ever figure anything out? I'm down to evil twin, Capita Pathfinder or the proto slinger. Just can't make up my mind.
@@mikey_mike I’m pretty sure about Porto slinger but it’s hard to get.
@@majkub the proto slinger is available on never summers website. Except for the 149 which is what I want.
@@mikey_mike Not in Europe ☹️
@@majkub oh. They don't ship to Europe? That sucks.
I bought the evil twin from what you said and you wernt wrong!
What are those bindings 🔥
Evil Twin compared to Boss?
do you still have these sweatshirts for sale?
how bout the burton custom
How does the Huck Knife Pro comapres against the Beast? Anyone? Cheers
what about the halldor pro by lobster
No DOA in this?
Last Year I testet the nitro beast and the rome stale mod. I brought the stale mod. You have to try this board.
will be getting on that one soon!
Have you tried the nitro team pro 2022 platform and if so what's your opinion on it as a playboard for freestyle/park?
Has anyone had a chance to ride the new Ride Burnout?
Great video but none of these will comfortably fit my massive feet except the Evil Twin 156 wide 😂
Just scooped up an Evil Twin for $420 CAD.
Not sure how.
Let us know how you like it. I'm thinking about getting one. Evil twin, Capita Pathfinder or the never summer proto slinger. Wish I could test them out first. Ha or had the money to just buy them all. 💪🏼✌🏼
Aye
i just ordere marhar lumberjack anyone in here knows something about them?
Avran loves em! It's on my list too.
Wow that never summer board is ugly! It looks worse then those weird rental snowboards you see around!
Sorry bud but Lib Tech always kills any board out!
Have you got a chance to tryout romearticraft 2022
Just bought the artifact
@@conceptice4607 what's your opinion about the board is it good
