I would never leave this house, it's like a beautiful sanctuary away from the world.
I've also been swimming at that little bay where all the fishing boats are, it's a magic spot.

Love the armonic different materials combination: it results sober, elegant and very very well done.

It is just such a privilege to watch ideas come to life and making one humble through its ingenuity. In my country people get told by the government and a certain elite that we need to live in small shoeboxes too safe the climate. It breaks my heart to see that architecture can taking humans and the land serious rather than confining them in squared dwellings letting them live a miserable life. Thanks for showing us what is possible and what living really means.

The open floor plan has been the rage for a number of years. As much as I have appreciated its ability to make spaces in the home bigger and brighter, I am seeing it from a different perspective now.
The concept & context for the design of this house is the antithesis of what has been going on. I quite like it because it makes me think and feel how there is a kind of joy which comes from a build-up in the reveal of anything. Or another way I see this is in a symphony there is a steady build to the climactic point of the music. This design is brilliant in providing that kind of experience.
The grandeur of this home is the humility of its appearance which further heightens the exquisite marriage of function and form.
Thank you for such an inspiring creation.

This house has a such a cool, modernist 50s-60s vibe to it. It reminded me of some of Le Corbusier's late work in Brazil with that use of brick see-through wall. It's not really my style of residential architecture as I find it a bit too cold and brutalist, but it was superbly executed by framing views, having a subterranean level with a skylight and that wall with vegetation. And outdoor spaces above - it really does a good job connecting the house to the outside.

Renato D'Ettorre is an absolute master, The Crypto Castle in South Coogee is worth checking out as well. Looks like he's taken that concept and really nailed it with this one

This is a beautiful building in a fantastic location and while I appreciate the view, location and design of this building, I find the use of what looks like concrete blocks and metal in Australian design in general so off putting, there appears to be no warmth to these buildings and maybe that by design but not for me. Lived in Sydney for a while and just not sure, sorry probably an umpoular view but I still come back to no warmth, so as a European, hard to love

This must be the guy they hired to design the primary school I went to. Similarities are traumatising, and the coldness of materiality definitely screams ‘Principals Office’.

Quote from the architect: "Humans are drawn to imperfection"; "I don't trust anything that is slick or machine made". Hyperbolic archispeak bullshit. This house is the epitome of slick and machine made.

It is funny how media directs people to change the real meaning of words.
Simplicity?natural materials, imperfection, and continuation of the outside world? Are you joking?
There is nothing simple or natural about this house. It is luxury and spoiled house of healthy people:)
It is minimal luxury......very popular currently in trends. Real simplicity in construction are wigwam, teepee, rondavels, igloo or more fancy with panoramic view cliff dwellings😂.
Materials simple and naturally occurred in a such constructions is wood, mud, grass, animal pop or skin .......
You can say it is primitive construction. But it is not. It's primitive to call luxury house simple....the primitive house did none or minimal effects to the environment, in this luxury case much more damage.......Definitely not "finding a rock and putting it into a design "

The double height living room with no windows at the top seems like a waste of space, blocking the beautiful views of the bay. This would be the perfect place for the master. Also the terracota breeze block is not the most pleasant to the eye, reminding me too much of a regular builders block, giving the house an unfinished look.
