Another one from Leprous you could check is The Cloak, it has an official video from the album Coal, there plenty other amazing songs from Leprous, personally I love Moon, Down, The Flood, The Valley, Rewind, Bilateral...
Hi Jim. Glad you enjoyed Leprous. By the way The band opened for Devin Townsend in Europe in his last Tour. Forced Entry is just a masterpiece to me. Leprous has a lot of great songs to react to: The Valley, Foe, The Price,... Just few of them.
YES! More Leprous for sure. There are so much I don't know what to recommend. My fav ones are "Passing", "White", "Dare You", "Moon", "The Valley". Also you need to check out Caligula's Horse. Caligula's Horse - Will's Song (Let the Colours Run) is a good start ( "Dream the Dead" and "Songs for No One" from the same album are also a must! )
The album cover represents the music in this album pretty well in my opinion! :D As I warned you, it is all over the place. Next Leprous song should be from one of the newer albums so you see how this band has progressed their sound. My suggestion would be From The Flame (since it was the first single). It will sound simple and even poppy compared to Forced Entry for example, but actually it has a lot of complexity "hidden" in it if you listen closely enough. Or if you want to hear more awesomeness from the live dvd Slave would be a good option
They are doing a 3 date tour in the UK in September playing at Leeds Drudenell (21st), Manchester Gorilla (22nd) and Birmingham O2 Institute 2 (23rd). I recommend that you watch them live, it is a wonderful experience.
I'd recommend Acquired Taste and Mb. Indifferentia which are a bit more mellow than this one. Or if you'd like something similar yet different Painful Detour could be a good one. All of these are from the Bilateral album. Fucking love these vids btw keep it up!
Funny you made the Haken comparison, as I saw Leprous and Haken co-headline at The Garage in London a few years ago, and it was marvellous. Recommend Rewind by Leprous, too.
Jim Newstead I love the album. Different, but definetely still Leprous. Hope you enjoy it😊 What a wonderful year for music this is. Had to give Fear Inoculum a rest now while diving into Pitfalls. If you ever get the chance to see Leprous live I can highly recommend it.
Echo is probably my favourite song by them. Very atmospheric with angelic vocals, although The Valley may be a better choice, because it's basically like Echo, but more jumpy and a bit heavier.
You need to check out The Dear Hunter - The Tank (their albums are so diverse(never real technical)) so it's hard to pick a single song. Also need to check out Headspace - Invasion (or anything really off of I am Anonymous) Also definitely check out Caligula's Horse - Songs for no one or water's edge Absolutely phenomenal bands, some of the best ever(that you haven't reacted to already)
I enjoyed their earlier works...not so much their latest. Saw them along with HAKEN last Friday @ Ft. Lauderdale and was somewhat disappointed in their set list. But, great to see them live as I don't suppose they'll visit Florida often.
Parts sounded like good old rock and roll to me. The vocals are amazing. Instrumentation was well done! That person in the lemonade also was a mermaid????????
Ya need to check out The Dear Hunter - The Tank (They're so musically diverse between any song(never super technical) so it's hard to pick one song. Also need to check out Caligula's Horse - Songs For No one or Water's Edge Also need to check out Headspace - Invasion Un-fucking-believable bands.
You should continue listening to some of their older stuff from their 2009 album "Tall Poppy Syndrome", songs like "Passing" or "White". Then ahead into their newer stuff which is completely different and a bit too repetitive for my taste, altough I liked their latest "Malina".
Lemon juice is known as a potentiator for psilocybin mushrooms. Well all in all these guys seem to be channeling their drug addiction in a healthy way :). If you can call this music healthy.
Yes, this whole album is about someone tripping and trying to find answers through his Ego Death, maybe doing shrooms, ayahuasca or even DMT. I think Tall Poppy Syndrome is also an album based on something similar where White is the climax, the protagonist is facing what it feels death and sensing the fourth dimension or something like that.
Thanks Balli, it's a combination of recommendations from you guys, my own personal choices and recommendations to you, and random stuff that pops up on my UA-cam recommends feed. Thanks for watching and commenting, and glad you're enjoying the content! Jim 😁
My 1st time hearing Leprous. What an amazing song!
Leprous is a 10/10 band. I definitely recommend Coal from them. It's a journey. And the entire album is a masterpiece. So is this one.

The artwork was done by Jeff Jordan, a surreal artist who was best known for his artwork for this band and The Mars Volta
Sebastian Armas Mars Volta is another band he needs to check out.
All of their stuff is magic. Bonneville!
Cheers, Jim. Glad you enjoyed!
Some voice on this guy...

That's some ride they take you on, eh? One of my favorite songs from Leprous. Watch the Live at Rockefeller Music Hall performance too. Fn unreal.

One of my favourite Leprous songs, and one from early in their career.
They are doing a 3 date tour in the UK in September playing at Leeds Drudenell (21st), Manchester Gorilla (22nd) and Birmingham O2 Institute 2 (23rd). I recommend that you watch them live, it is a wonderful experience.
My favorite band and my favorite track from this album :) ! Leprous - Slave or Rewind from The Congregation please :D, you'll be blown away ^^ !
Rewind is a must!
I'd recommend Acquired Taste and Mb. Indifferentia which are a bit more mellow than this one. Or if you'd like something similar yet different Painful Detour could be a good one. All of these are from the Bilateral album.

Forever my favourite Leprous song

LEPROUS - The Price
=DD
14:00 close your eyes. Imagine that you're blind and have never seen the album cover and try to imagine it from his description. It's hilarious!
Leprous latest release: Pitfalls is just stunningly good. I would love to see you react to The Sky Is Red🙏🏻
I've just received it in the mail on vinyl today.... exciting! 👍🏻

The Dear Hunter is great. I would recommend 'Cascade' by them or 'The Flame (Is Gone)'.
Your description of the cover is just perfect and then "yeah that makes sense" LMAO
Best Album!!!
You should give "A Perfect Circle - Outsider - Stone and Echo Live at Red Rocks" a try!
I enjoyed their earlier works...not so much their latest. Saw them along with HAKEN last Friday @ Ft. Lauderdale and was somewhat disappointed in their set list. But, great to see them live as I don't suppose they'll visit Florida often.
Im just getting into this album and realising they are a better band than i first thought
I was there too. Great show. Amazing how much energy they play with even on the softer songs, which was most of the setlist
Parts sounded like good old rock and roll to me. The vocals are amazing. Instrumentation was well done! That person in the lemonade also was a mermaid????????
I know! Mad, innit!?
Acquired taste es el mejor tema de ewte disco, una maldita obra de arte. 10/10
lucky you and lucky us, the Dream Theater block got unblocked !

Un-fucking-believable bands.
I would recommend reacting to rewind by the same band

Now do distant bells or below off their new album, Leprous just gets better. Enjoyed the video.
Rishloo - Downhill
Yes! Finally someone that recommends Rishloo!
Awesome reaction!! Please see "the flood" 🙏 great video as well
Hello Jim, Fred here a proud Norwegian here. Could you react to leprous New song golden prayers please

how come all your songs r so interesting..? who is picking these songs?

It's alot of progressive metal. You'll find prog is generally more 'interesting' than other genres or styles.
