Thanks for tagging along on this hunt, it was an absolute blast going exploring at the spot! Make sure to hit that subscribe button to join me on future adventures 🤘🤘 Also! I will be uploading a second video this week, on Sunday morning! I'm very excited to share it with you all, I'll share more details as we get closer to Sunday!
I don't want to invade you spots, so I won't ask where you were but can you tell me what river you were in? Alot of times while I'm in the rivers I have been finding quarts on the large gray rocks that are piled under the bridges.
great info, I live in central Michigan and have only hunted the dirt roads around my house, and I appreciate all the pieces you find helps me to identify
It's always fun to explore a new spot, even if you find nothing but the sound of that moving water is a blessing and something to be grateful for.....keep hunting & stay warm & safe .....Iowa is warming up too.....53 F today !
The Jasper pieces are so beautiful, it is amazing how there are so many different types of rocks. That was a great place to visit, thanks for your great video ❤️🇦🇺xxx
Looking forward to seeing what your going to do with that rock. Good luck in the challenge. Amazing images of the trees as the sunshine warms the forest in preparation for spring towards the end of the video. Been so nice to get out as of lately with the sun out more each day. Good luck to all the participants of the challenge. Looking forward to seeing what everyone does for it.
Hi again TAYLOR Enjoyed being out in Wisconsin for a bit! Especially the sound of the river gives all hope spring is on the way. Thinking by the look of the rocks there that it probably isn't an agate spot. You can usually tell as agate areas have a look which is hard to describe but guess learned and felt. Other goodies though that looked quite nice. Thx as always and catcha next time.
Another fun video. Fresh ground is always an adventure. You just reminded me that I have 2 recently discovered streams to check out this week-end. Get to break-in the new waders! Woot! As always... Good Luck, Have Fun and Keep on Houndin'... Steve.
Man some creeks are just temperamental haha! But it’s those ones that get us to appreciate new finds and find new interest in different stuff. I’m not gonna lie... I’m super curious about what you’re going to make!!!! I can’t wait brother!
Absolutely love your videos man. I've never been on the north shore but I have the keewanaw peninsula and I would really suggest taking a trip there the rocks there are stunning.
You find a beautiful place on a beautiful day. I think you missed an agate at :47 seconds, almost dead center of your picture. Dark red with what looked like banding. It was just before you picked up your first Jasper. Happy hunting on your next trip.
You could have recorded 20 minutes of the sound of the flowing water. Really soothing and calming. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with the slab! Have a good weekend Taylor.
@@AgateDad I think some of that is the evergreens. Not many right here - I planted two hemlock over 20 years ago and they have only done so-so. Most greens at the moment are ferns ive planted or moved closer to the house and moss. Lots of mud from construction too. I like the aspens and birch up there in the north as well.
Hey what's that white stuff on the ground? I'm from so cal and we don't know what that is? Actually just went hiking in the hills and found some grapefruit size geodes. Very volcanic here lots of big agates with various inclusions and colors.
What part of Wisconsin are you in.. I'm down here in the far south east the racing Kenosha area... But many years since I've been physically able rock hounding.
I think what you're calling jasper at the start might be rhyolite , or possibly sandstone. The clearly layered ones that are kinda dull are probably sandstone (I see it blends into jasper on a piece). 8:28 your fav I think is rhyolite.
I kind of had a feeling I was mis-identifying some, especially those layered ones, I need to get a Wisconsin rocks and minerals book/website link to help me out next time! I basically slammed on the breaks when I saw exposed river bank so it was a very spur of the moment hunt lol thanks for commenting bud
@@AgateDad Yeah we had a cold snap here for 2 weeks, was constantly around -40. Then it broke, and now it's been above freezing for over a week. In the day, anyway. Still chilly at night.
That sure is beautiful country for rock hounding. I have been meaning to ask you, what type of camera do you use ? I am thinking about getting one, so I can make my own videos. I sure enjoy your videos !!!!
Awesome you're mixing it up! As much as I like lake agates, its the same thing over and over again. Like the folks who go to the yellow stone river everyday, pretty cool the first 30 times.....
Well sometimes people can only go to one location, at least they're finding different treasures each time. Each find is individually unique so even though the location may be the same, each day is unique and hopefully enjoyable for them ❤
Your name should have been "Jasper Dad" for this video. :P But I'd like to see you on a different kind of rock hunt... On job sites! (With owners consent) I think you'll find more agates than you thought you would! (The best hunting is right after it rains, in low level sunlight) :D Good luck in 2021
Can someone help me understand how UA-cam chooses what to show me? I keep getting offered the same films again and again, and often, they haven't been marked as liked even though I always do. How do I find the ones I haven't seen? Always liking AgateDad.

I wish there were cool rocks where I live!
@@2nd-place where do you live?
Wheeew! Watched 71 0f 190 vides, more popcorn, beers, smokem. Yes i'm ready again!
You’re a beast! Keep me in the loop on your progress 🤘🤘
The sound of the running water make me want spring to hurry up and get here. Love that sound.
It feels like spring! So beautiful lately!
My wife and I may not always find what we are looking for, but we always find a good time just being on the hunt for the next beautiful piece.
Exactly 💯
Beautiful stream music. Very relaxing. Best regards to your little son! 👍🍀🌲
It truly is one of my favorite sounds!
My like number 168 friend. Hermosas rocas de jade y en un lugar además muy lindo. Saludos desde Chile.

Awesome adventure! I loved when the waters rolled the teleprompter said, "Applause." Xo
Hahahahah! Love that!
I enjoy your videos a lot! Thanks for sharing your finds!
What a beauty spot! Nice finds as always! Yellow jasper is one of my favorites to find!

I completely agree!!
So beautiful. It's gonna be 85 here, I wish I was there. TFS 💖🦅🦅
Sounds nice 🌞
@@AgateDad no no no
Compared to our weather it seems nice haha

Maybe I'll give you a tip later in the year to check out our river in northern wi. Amazing n unique agate finds there.
I'd love that 💕
Love to see what that larger jasper would look like slabbed
Absolutely love your videos man. I've never been on the north shore but I have the keewanaw peninsula and I would really suggest taking a trip there the rocks there are stunning.
This was actually a ways off the South Shore, but I would love to, hopefully this year!
Ooh, mysterious future lapidary projects....
Nice

@@AgateDad For sure!
wonderful video Taylor!
Thanks Lisa!!
Where was this peaceful spot? I'd love to just enjoy the quiet and sound of the water.
Wisconsin, up north
Really pretty jasper! Cool new spot! Here your son through ping pong balls in the background, thanks my son too, likes to join and be like Dad!
The Oolitic jasper at 3:04 looks very cuttable for cabs.

Cool. I have some family that lived in that state. Planning to visit this year. Nice hunt and stones!

Nice stuff and a nice place to look for!! I love jasper and....there is enough of it here in the Netherlands!!
It was a pretty spot!
YEAH!!! Agate Dad!!

Banded ironstone! I think it is a Jasper.

how can you tell jasper from other red rocks?
Do you ever come across arrowheads?
No unfortunately
Haha You should come to Washington
How can it be spring there when it’s not spring in NJ yet? LOL!
Lol!
Nice looking Jaspers 👌 I found some in my area, but mostly Quartz and Meteorite
