Not ‘modeled on’ This is straight up a rebadged low end Chinese brand JAC. Just like you are a rebadged Australian turned propagandist. Don’t come back mate.
Thank you Russell, great video. You are a bit confused cause
the "excluded features" car is the LADA models row built on the same platform as Renault/Dacia, not the MOSKVITCH, which is new and produced by another factory.
Yeah, first car I ever had in 1998 for 15th birthday was a GMC Jimmy SUV (later Envoy, both now discontinued) that parents bought me. Later I went through a couple of used Japanese sedans, but afterwards got a new Nissan X-Trail (Rogue in US).

It would be great if you could go to more car dealers to review any other new Russian vehicles, like large SUV or trucks. Russian Truck company KAMAZ has won the Paris to Dakar a record 14 times.
I am a big fan of the UAZ Patriot myself.
They all kind of suck, except for Niva, which was redone by Chevrolet, so it's comparable to maybe the worst, small cheapest US SUV, only for twice the price.
The one they win Dakar with is one of a mind spruced up special model, nothing like the conveyer production one for regular customers.
@@LennyNero2019do other companies win Dakar with conveyer models? May be we can see conveyer models at formula 1 🤔🤦🏼♂️

It's interesting to see how the markets in Russia is developing after all the effects of geo-political measures have taken place. From your clip, I see that Russia has taken another route in retailing Chinese or China-based vehicles. In my country, Thailand, we have traditionally been a production hub and retail market for Japanese brands. The past 2 years however. Chinese makes like BYD, MG, and GWM have taken their space here with a vengeance on global legendary brands like Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Isuzu. These guys are feeling thepresence of the new players on the block very clearly. I would love to see how traditional Russian brands are reacting within the Russian market.
Also soon we will see how Russia and China's partnership working I'm sure soon there will be tons of Cninease dealerships and tons of Chinese food can't wait for all thumbs up for everything Chinese on the Russian market I'm all against western junk fake food and west trash cars... Russia will only benefit without western junk tech and fake trash food
@TFactory The West will first build a factory to make its cars, and overnight it will shut down and spread the word about the decline in production in Russia. Just beautiful.
The Chinese alternative is better.
Same in New Zealand. Last 5 years Chinese brands are taking over the market, like Great Wall, MG and recently BYD. The BYD electric car is so successful that the only limiting factor is supply. In the first week BYD had 500 orders for the Atto 3. Now we see them everywhere. If this rate continues the traditional German and Japanese brands will be pushed out of the market before 2030. These traditional brands waited for way too long to shift to electric cars which are taking New Zealand by storm.
Atto 3 is extremely popular in every country it has been released
I live in Thailand and my first car here was Toyota Altis which is a very reliable car made in Thailand. Three years ago we bought MB 350e and even bad roads in Thailand now feel like European roads. Recently my Thai wife decided to buy MG ZS. She was eventually caught on a huge discount. Driving MG is totally uncomfortable and your spinal cord will be destroyed. She won't buy a cheap Chinese car ever again. I wish she could return this car back to MG and buy Peugeot 3008.
The Moskvitch 3 The vehicle is a locally assembled rebadged version of the Sehol X4 by JAC Motors, produced using semi knock-down kits in cooperation with Russian lorry and engine manufacturer Kamaz

Рассел, первый электромобиль был создан в СССР в 70-х годах XX века. Так что всё новое -это хорошо забытое старое.

from looking at it for the first time i agree.
Launching a new production in less than a year is a great success.

That is way nicer than I expected!
"Variator" in english is CVT, or continuously variable transmission. Not to be too technical, it's when instead of classical "gears" you have just one that can change its gear ratio. It's usually done by two cones, but you can look all thetechnical stuff yourself, I guess :)
CVT is a Dutch development…patented by van doornes transmissions..
Basically it sucks, makes the car howl like mad. 😁 I have two, one with 'regular' 6 speed automatic, and one CVT.
eCVT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL THAN THE REGULAR CVT
@@LennyNero2019 Many asian manufacturers use CVT, they are popular and well accepted here in Thailand. I have owned new Nissan Almera cvt and now a MG XS auto. Cannot agree with your 'basically it sucks'. The Nissan was a joy to drive over 60,000km and I would rebuy, but we needed the hatch. Yes the MG sounds more like a regular auto but the cvt is not unpleasant.
Yeah you're right on how it works, but mostly they are total crap. Nissan had a series of cvts that were absolutely horrible, had one myself and constantly broken transmission
Moskvich 3e i completely assembled in China as Jac 3 - then after some parts tuning shipped to Russia in the container where they put Moskvich 3e label.

CVT = Continuosly Variable Transmission. It's an automatic transmission that relies on two pulleys connected to a steel belt or chain. The pulleys change ratios (one side bigger, the other side smaller, and vice versa) when the vehicle accelerates and picks up speed.

In 1992 I was in Moscow for the first time, in the evening we were taking the metro and was passing a big factory area that was dark, no light at all, I asked the local guy that was with us what this was, "It is the Moskvich factory, it is closed, they have no engine to put into the cars, so closed it is", I was like wtf and asked about why no engines, and well it was because there were no bolts to hold the engine parts together, so that was apparently the end of Moskvich.
Hunger, poverty, unemployment, closed factories, all that is called in the West the "new era of freedom and true democracy" is gone and will never return. The factories didn't close "of their own". They were forced into bankruptcy and closed in order to create a niche for the supply of export goods. We haven't forgotten that.
The 90s are the worst time for Russia. Come on a tour right now. Putin has done a great job, no matter how much dirt is poured on him
Our car industry is bad. What really deserves attention is Kamaz trucks. It seems they have plans to produce passenger SUVs. They can do it.
And Moskvich is a Chinese copy. UAZ - low quality.
