    My beloved cat passed away 10 years ago, I had her for 19 years, and when I buried her I always knew that eventually, I would articulate her skeletal remains one day....Seeing your video makes me itching to begin the process! My family for the most part thinks I'm nuts, but my youngest daughter, who is 30ish, finds it fascinating

      I can comprehend you. I myself have cats and a little dog at home. They are our puppies lol. I share this kind of interest with you, but not regarding them. I would totally do the same with other animals' carcasses, but not my pets.

      I could never ever do that to my dog. Yall weird. My dog is family. I woildnt articulate my son’s skeleton if he passed away. Same applies to my dog. Show some respect to the dead.

      I start at the back (the pelvis) and gradually adjust the curvature as I go along. Practice is very important in this.

    Do you do this as a side hustle for someone to send you their dead cats bone to make it similar to yours? My cat passed away and want someone to make something to remind me of him and keep him close to me in my home.

    What adhesive do you use to connect the bones?? I’ve been trying to put a cat skeleton together for years! But I can’t find the right adhesive.

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  2 роки тому +5

      I always use superglue and white glue. What is very important is that the bones are well degreased. If they are not, the glue does not adhere well.

    hi, i have a spare skull and complete vertebrae of a red fox cleaned and whitened, what i would like to do for this one is to replicate the discs of the spine to join the vertebrae together, i'm thinking using small sections of black rubber glued to the surfaces of the body of the vertebrae where the discs were originally.
    would CA glue be the best option to glue rubber to bone and hold over time?

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  2 роки тому

      Hello. Well, I don't know if I can help you much, because I don't know what CA glue is. :))
      On the other hand, I have never used black rubber and I don't know what glue would work well. In those cases, what I do is not join the vertebrae at all (using wire) and I prefer to do the filling with white glue that becomes transparent (or translucent) when it dries.

    Hello! Hope all is well, just came across your video! Would you be able to list the supplies used for this project? Like the type of glue and wires used?

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  8 місяців тому +1

      Hello. Thanks! 🙂
      Yes, glues are superglue for place in position, and white glue for make stronger the joins. About wire, is around 1.0 mm (as far as I remember 🤔)

    hi!! sorry if this comes across as a silly question but how do you figure out where everything goes? is it just a matter of how they fit together?

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  7 місяців тому

      Hi! Basically, it is a mix. Having references is very important. Taking notes, pictures and drawings when cleaning the animal. Having a second one as reference. Experience... And, after all this, trying if they fit correctly.

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  7 місяців тому

      It depends on the temperature of the place where you leave it. It is best to leave it outdoors protected from predators and scavengers. It's not a good idea to bury it.

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons

      The animal died in the wild in a place with a dry and hot climate in summer. It was dehydrated, preserving all its organs, but completely dried. It was not eaten by insect larvae.

    Hey! Amazing job, I really enjoyed watching all the cat process 👏 have you done any video of the cleaning process to get the bones that white but not break them. My first try I used beach and it broke from the inside 🥲

    • @GalileoRamosSkeletons
      @GalileoRamosSkeletons  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, Thanks you very much :D
      Sorry, but no, I didn´t have any video about cleaning process. I clean them by maceration (let the parts decompose in water), and the only chemichals I use are ammonia for degreasing and oxigenated water for whitening.
      Bleach should never be used, because it spoils the bone.
