For anyone wondering where to get the gear. eBay has the gear only for about $6 or the gear and toner for about $9 or the gear, toner, and hole maker for $15. Amazon has gear and toner for about $10. BTW, my original cartridge had a refill hole under the reset gear. Just carefully pry up the plug. The plug was actually the post where the reset gear rotates... no need to drill hole.
No need to make a hole in the cartridge. Just open the plug under the reset gear. The first few prints from this refill are lighter but it gets better with more prints.
After following these instructions the print quality when down. Blacks and whites are both closer to grays and pages have vertical streaks. Any suggestions?
I followed the instructions an repositioned the white part (this resets the toner level) BUT I still get "Toner Low". My printer is a Dell MFP E515dn... Please help... thanks, James
