- I got this in as a repair job, which is UTTERLY BRILLIANT, because it's really old, and the owner loves it and wanted it repaired. So let me show you the process to replace the main suction motor in your retro Dyson DC02.

You're so clever! I used to hate working on DC02s back in the day
Awww thanks! Getting the motor housing on was more of a faff than it usually is though... Probably won't see another for a while now
Yes the dc02 did have a clear version. Cant remmeber its name - was it the recyclone version? Or was that the green one?
lovely, this made me jump into action, thanks
Great tutorial Sam 👌👌
Oooo now I know to take apart a fantom lightning
Very informative Sam
Sam awesome video job well done success
Really cool Dyson
ManchesterVacs had a DC02 Clear.
Hello. What do you think is a better motor to add? Can I add Bluetooth settings
Hey Beko any advice for restoring cloudy bins?
Long shot, but how to get bleed valve/spring/diaphram for DC02? And.. is it worth repairing?
I've got some of those spare if your in the UK? Otherwise I tape over the completely as they leak air terribly (but then you need to be careful not to block the machine for a long time as the valves will be disabled)
@@beko1987 That's great. I'm in High Wycombe, Bucks. How much are the parts?
Very nice DC02. I've heard that DC01s and DC02s lacked power. What makes them be that?
They just didn't have strong motors. Same as the DC03, that was even worse
@@RJA_World What was the wattage on the motors?
@@jayambermsp8000 DC01 and 2 were 1100W and 1200W, it Dyson seemed to use different motors depending on the production run. DC03 was 700W
@@RJA_World I do like the dual cyclone machines.
Better then the new ones they offer.
Have you a website to find the motor ?
Ebay will be your best bet. New genuine motors won't exist now unless you get really lucky, a working used motor would be the easiest way
@@beko1987 dc05 motor isn't compatible ?
There was a clear dc02 😊
DC02 clear are rare.
