Like is this just a giga hollow known as the dark wall or is it something more all surrounding, only leaving a small slice of land habitable on the planet
hollows don't grow in size after innitally spawning from what I've seen and read thus far it just screws over anyone who enters one, but this dark wall may be an unusual exception to the rules, and as Hoyo established in Star Rail, Rules are made to be broken.
I assumed the dark wall is the circumference of the Hollow Zero, and that the radius of the Hollow Zero used to be 37km (23 miles) longer than it currently is in game.

yep it is. Seems like ZZZ's lore stems around the 4 AI's and the Phaethon has one of them. Idk what they are gonna do with them but its gonna be interesting.

If I remember correctly, didn’t Belle and Wise say something about wanting to fulfill the goal of their master/teacher (can’t remember)? Could it be that their teacher is Professor Arche, and that is why they are so interested in investigating Hollow Zero? (Since that is the last time anyone saw Professor Arche.)
Professor Arche is from prev era tho. Belle and Wise aren't even around at the time. It could be that the teacher is researching the city guardians or Hollow Zero too just like Professor Arche

Belle and wise are clearly the successors of the professor. They even lived at the old academy. With their teacher probably being a close tie to the professor himself.

I was a little worried the worldbuilding would be a little thin but this is setting up so many interesting layers. This has some serious Honkai vibes, especially with the mystery of Hollows and a previous era that fought against the first wave. It even reminds me a little of Made in Abyss with how the Hollow Zones need to be carefully explored and cause risk of a loss of humanity.

Wonder if anyones noticed this or if it's just my own brain making links where there are none. But the names of the AI, Jinni, Ghost, Youkai, and Fairy. All of these names obviously come from a mythological creature, but something I find interesting is that all of these could be seen as either Mischievous, Dangerous , or even Helpful depending on the myth you base them on. Jinni is probably a Djinn, or Genie. As we're all aware thanks to Aladdin, you can have your helpful Genie, or your evil ones, but trickster Djinn are also mentioned. These primarily come from Arabic culture. Ghost, well we all know what a ghost is! But that also means we all know how varied ghosts can be in interpretation! Youkai, a youkai is a type of monster from japanese mythology, even calling them a monster isn't exactly accurate, nor demon, as they are so varied, to simply call something a youkai is like looking at a spider and saying bug. You're not wrong, but you're not right either. They probably choose this term for the simple fact it has so many types. Fairy. Obviously this is the AI we know the most about considering the games plot, but Fairies come from europeon mythology, and much like Youkai, to simply point at something and call it a Fae or a Fairy is not incorrect, but not entirely correct, as many things count as a type of Fae, and run the gambit of helpful, to mischievous, to outright harmful. Ah well, thanks to anyone who pays attention to my rant, maybe I'm onto something!
** When Thor (PirateSoftware) picked this up briefly, he mentioned that all of them are primarily dangerous folklore monsters, with no "helpful" element. Any beneficial behavior is typically either coincidental or a setup for something harmful down the road (which in-game Fairy's existence seems to imply quite a bit). If it weren't for that, the visions your MC gets when first-time interacting with Fairy should already suggest some bad mojo scheduled to happen down the road, likely as a result of your new contract. It's more than likely that true to the mythological depictions, all these AI are programmed to fulfill an undisclosed purpose while screwing over everything and everyone else to get there.

Duuude. Imagine how big that hollow is to potentially block out the sun, and then someone eradicates it, thus being dubbed as the Sun Bringer. If that was the case, its awesome and terrifying at the same time.

Sunbringer 2:05 : Looks like Kiana in Sojourn battlesuit after Arc city incident, but with horns. 3. Joyous : I think i can feel Kalpas vibes from him, but it doesn't masked his face completely 4. Col. Vike : Elysia's Reincarnation, her wings looks pretty 5. Lt Col. Dan : "Her appearance almost like Raiden Mei, but her hair is more purple 6. Merc Leader Troupe : This robot can rival Clara's Svarog i think? 7. Prof Arche : i can feel his similarity to Soul of Cinder from dark souls, but this one's flames is purple.
Now these are the designs I'm excited for! And considering the names and statuses of these AIs, I am sure this was all before our acquisition of Fairy. But Youkai did mention Fairy here... is the female voice Fairy? Anyways, they have nailed the aesthetic, and I can't be more thrilled. Just waiting for an Urban Mei... EDIT: After watching it again, I have a speculative theory. These two mysterious individuals are planning something huge, and know more than the average Eridu citizen. The AIs are somewhat connected to the deep voice, and each one of them are specialized for certain tasks: Ghost: Hacking Youkai: Corruption Fairy: Search Jinni: Loading The women's comments signify they hold a very thorough knowledge of Eridu, as well as New Eridu. And from her reaction to the three Void Hunters who pushed back the Black Wall, it seems there's some history between her and them. And the deep voice's query only alludes to the fact that the more active and exploring party is the woman. The deep voice is probably stationary, and the woman uses it. They are biding time for someone to come across the AIs, possibly due to some restrictions. I am sure the cutscene when we calibrate Fairy holds more clues, but anyways. Judging from the Inter-Knots security and tight censorship on information, the power controlling New Eridu is just as strong as them, or probably even stronger. My guess for the future is that we are going to stumble across another AI. And that AI could be Ghost. And when that happens, another Void Hunter will be introduced with a lot of revelations. Oh yes, and the person who "hacked" our HDD and got our main account, is just another party that is interested in this whole Watchmaker's Legacy-esque rat race. And I have a feeling that Professor Arche is our mentor. The person who took us in and probably raised us. Or maybe his successor? We already know we are from the old Eridu, so that couldn't be far fetched. Considering their superior Eous and Bangboo tech, I am sure they have knowledge from the old Eridu. I know I've been yapping for long, but there is this last detail I very much liked. At the start of the access to Inter-Knot, we got a message on Phaethon. It probably is something legendary to have it be honored as such, but what makes it interesting is the symbolism. From the message, it seems Phaethon was a hero and almost divine-like. Us, with Phaethon as our Proxy ID, are probably going to get involved in this big, corporate, not-what-it-looks-like mystery. That would truly be the ressurection of Phaethon.
No, the female voice says "Behave you four and wait for someone to awaken you" when the list containing "Fairy, Youkai, etc" flashes up on the stream. Meaning that the female voice is not one of the four AIs. She is probably the creator of the AIs, or at least connected to their creation.
Phaethon is actually a part of Greek mythology. He was the son of the sun god Helios, who in an attempt to be recognized by his father, was allowed to drive his chariot (the sun). in short, the ride was a total disaster and he was killed by Zeus. the reference to the myth might be why that piece of text mentions the Sun God's Chariot. The fact that Wise and Belle go under the name Phaethon, and the text in this video mentions that while Phaethon failed greatly, he also was very daring, it might be plausible that the two characters may follow a similar path, daring to prove themselves, but at risk of suffering a great failure.
Not only that but the fact that they're interested in getting a legal way of investigating the hollow zero and has their own objective inside definitely strengthens the speculation that Professor Arche is their mentor

Phaeton's control over fairy represents the idea that now he controls the "Sun God's Chariot," a metaphorical tool that, if not wielded properly or with care, can change the world. Thus, Phaethon, as daring as the siblings are, must ride it with care.
37km is 22.9 Miles. It shares a very similar size to the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (Bridge) in Louisiana, which is 23.83 Miles long (38.35 km). If you stand on the center of that bridge over lake Pontchatrain, you can not see land in any direction.

Search. Which now we know is the ability to have near 80% access to all information. We can use this as a standard to figure out what the other three can do. Jinni, maybe able to store and process huge amounts of data. Hacking is pretty self explanatory. And corrupting is probably something along the line of controlling. Which is interesting is that Just fairy alone could flip out the entire system. But the mysterious two had clearly all four of them. And somehow threw them in the New Eridu. My wild guess is that these people are on the moon.
Also makes you wonder, if Phaethon already has Fairy (who actually does do a lot of "searching" for the siblings) does that mean they're also going to collect the other three, or are those going to be obtained by other members of the roster? And that's assuming that those AI are still on the same side.
@@tymkujoh It's just a slow start. I've seen many good stories that starts slow like Mushoku Tensei, Steins:Gate, Ergo Proxy, and even in books like The First Law trilogy. Whenever I see sotries with a slow start I'm always hopeful for it.
Zenless Zone Zero is definitely going to have the deep lore and the dark and emotional storytelling I have seen in Hoyoverse games. I’m really looking forward to learning more about the world and characters of Zenless Zone Zero, it is definitely shaping up to be something great like other Hoyoverse games in my opinion. The biggest problem is that they can tell all these dark stories and then implement nothing to the game. Just look at war torn Natlan nation in Genshin, the trailer showed happy bright Sumeru 2.0 and even if they gonna make good war story - the game itself will still be kiddy bright without any reflection of centuries of war and destruction.
Too bad they're all most likely dead (except the Purple Flames dude). Since it seems they fought the Hollows when they were first starting to appear, so that's at least a couple of hundreds of years to a thousand. We'll probably meet their descendants (like how we have already meet the current Hoshimi sword master, Hoshimi Miyabi)

I had such low expectations of ZZZ honestly, then I played it, I lasted 12 hours before laying down to actually rest, next day I'm still playing and having fun.

Yeah it's fun as heck. I'm addicted. It's like the ultimate arcade action gacha game. Exactly what I was hoping it would be. Tons of fun bite sized game modes, constant action (if you skip dialogue), it's the perfect gacha game if you have ADHD like me.
I gotta grind on WuWa and HSR but I just spent 2 days on ZZZ and only reason I stopped was because my fingers ache lol. Game is fun. Only thing that I could see killing it for me is if I compare it to some of my other games but I don't do that so no problems! It's honestly such an enjoyable game atm.

Phaethon attempted to drive the Sun chariot across the sky, believing he could do it just as well as his father. However, he could not control the horses causing him to first ride too close to Earth, and then too far from Earth. Ultimately, he was struck down by Zeus where he fell into the river Eridanus. Close enough i guess, having played the newest chapters, Wise and Belle is trying to find the truth about their teacher - Carole Arna, a high class scientist who worked at Helios and one of the people who was blamed for the Hollow Zero accident which destroyed Old Eridu

I feel like we should nurture this game with actual care unlike Gi if we want the community & ZZZ team to be healthy. Ngl with the direction of the game, I feel likes it's catering to a more "mature mind" of an audience compared to other Hoyo titles. And if thats the case I hope the community too will be the most Mature community out of Hoyo games so the whole experience will be healthy for once. No attacking VA's, Devs, teams, no drama, no begging, no comparing, I'm tired of all that always circling.)

Maybe a counterpart to Acheron (Mei without a Kiana) for this game. Granted, we've had three games with a Mei, so her popularity is definitely a factor in whether she'll be potentially a future character.

The strength of an ethereal is actually not based on the strength or aptitude of person, but based on a LACK of resistance to ethereal corruption. Nineveh wasn't a void hunter or some super strong fighter, the clues she left behind actually point to her being an upper class florist.
I also remembered what was created in the abyss! I hope the developers will make some more obvious references, it would be great, because the work is incredible

Sun Bringer looks like a character taken straight out of Arknights (a sarkaz standard bearer), with the addition of Void Drifter Kiana's eyes.
I was a little worried the worldbuilding would be a little thin but this is setting up so many interesting layers.
This has some serious Honkai vibes, especially with the mystery of Hollows and a previous era that fought against the first wave.
It even reminds me a little of Made in Abyss with how the Hollow Zones need to be carefully explored and cause risk of a loss of humanity.

Wonder if anyones noticed this or if it's just my own brain making links where there are none. But the names of the AI, Jinni, Ghost, Youkai, and Fairy. All of these names obviously come from a mythological creature, but something I find interesting is that all of these could be seen as either Mischievous, Dangerous , or even Helpful depending on the myth you base them on.
Jinni is probably a Djinn, or Genie. As we're all aware thanks to Aladdin, you can have your helpful Genie, or your evil ones, but trickster Djinn are also mentioned. These primarily come from Arabic culture.
Ghost, well we all know what a ghost is! But that also means we all know how varied ghosts can be in interpretation!
Youkai, a youkai is a type of monster from japanese mythology, even calling them a monster isn't exactly accurate, nor demon, as they are so varied, to simply call something a youkai is like looking at a spider and saying bug. You're not wrong, but you're not right either. They probably choose this term for the simple fact it has so many types.
Fairy. Obviously this is the AI we know the most about considering the games plot, but Fairies come from europeon mythology, and much like Youkai, to simply point at something and call it a Fae or a Fairy is not incorrect, but not entirely correct, as many things count as a type of Fae, and run the gambit of helpful, to mischievous, to outright harmful.
Ah well, thanks to anyone who pays attention to my rant, maybe I'm onto something!

When Thor (PirateSoftware) picked this up briefly, he mentioned that all of them are primarily dangerous folklore monsters, with no "helpful" element. Any beneficial behavior is typically either coincidental or a setup for something harmful down the road (which in-game Fairy's existence seems to imply quite a bit).
If it weren't for that, the visions your MC gets when first-time interacting with Fairy should already suggest some bad mojo scheduled to happen down the road, likely as a result of your new contract. It's more than likely that true to the mythological depictions, all these AI are programmed to fulfill an undisclosed purpose while screwing over everything and everyone else to get there.

Now these are the designs I'm excited for! And considering the names and statuses of these AIs, I am sure this was all before our acquisition of Fairy. But Youkai did mention Fairy here... is the female voice Fairy? Anyways, they have nailed the aesthetic, and I can't be more thrilled. Just waiting for an Urban Mei...
EDIT: After watching it again, I have a speculative theory. These two mysterious individuals are planning something huge, and know more than the average Eridu citizen. The AIs are somewhat connected to the deep voice, and each one of them are specialized for certain tasks:
Ghost: Hacking
Youkai: Corruption
Fairy: Search
Jinni: Loading
The women's comments signify they hold a very thorough knowledge of Eridu, as well as New Eridu. And from her reaction to the three Void Hunters who pushed back the Black Wall, it seems there's some history between her and them. And the deep voice's query only alludes to the fact that the more active and exploring party is the woman. The deep voice is probably stationary, and the woman uses it. They are biding time for someone to come across the AIs, possibly due to some restrictions. I am sure the cutscene when we calibrate Fairy holds more clues, but anyways. Judging from the Inter-Knots security and tight censorship on information, the power controlling New Eridu is just as strong as them, or probably even stronger.
My guess for the future is that we are going to stumble across another AI. And that AI could be Ghost. And when that happens, another Void Hunter will be introduced with a lot of revelations.
Oh yes, and the person who "hacked" our HDD and got our main account, is just another party that is interested in this whole Watchmaker's Legacy-esque rat race. And I have a feeling that Professor Arche is our mentor. The person who took us in and probably raised us. Or maybe his successor? We already know we are from the old Eridu, so that couldn't be far fetched. Considering their superior Eous and Bangboo tech, I am sure they have knowledge from the old Eridu.
I know I've been yapping for long, but there is this last detail I very much liked. At the start of the access to Inter-Knot, we got a message on Phaethon. It probably is something legendary to have it be honored as such, but what makes it interesting is the symbolism. From the message, it seems Phaethon was a hero and almost divine-like. Us, with Phaethon as our Proxy ID, are probably going to get involved in this big, corporate, not-what-it-looks-like mystery. That would truly be the ressurection of Phaethon.
No, the female voice says "Behave you four and wait for someone to awaken you" when the list containing "Fairy, Youkai, etc" flashes up on the stream. Meaning that the female voice is not one of the four AIs. She is probably the creator of the AIs, or at least connected to their creation.
Phaethon is actually a part of Greek mythology. He was the son of the sun god Helios, who in an attempt to be recognized by his father, was allowed to drive his chariot (the sun). in short, the ride was a total disaster and he was killed by Zeus. the reference to the myth might be why that piece of text mentions the Sun God's Chariot.
The fact that Wise and Belle go under the name Phaethon, and the text in this video mentions that while Phaethon failed greatly, he also was very daring, it might be plausible that the two characters may follow a similar path, daring to prove themselves, but at risk of suffering a great failure.
Not only that but the fact that they're interested in getting a legal way of investigating the hollow zero and has their own objective inside definitely strengthens the speculation that Professor Arche is their mentor

potentially, however I think it might be more likely that the "sun god's Chariot," that they reference in this chamber may be Fairy, since Phaethon chose to install the chip that contained her in order to save the Hares. since it's likely Fairy is connected to the Hollows, their origins, and most likely, their fate. Phaeton's control over fairy represents the idea that now he controls the "Sun God's Chariot," a metaphorical tool that, if not wielded properly or with care, can change the world. Thus, Phaethon, as daring as the siblings are, must ride it with care.

Also makes you wonder, if Phaethon already has Fairy (who actually does do a lot of "searching" for the siblings) does that mean they're also going to collect the other three, or are those going to be obtained by other members of the roster? And that's assuming that those AI are still on the same side.
I think AIs can do all of these things. But they are strong in their field.

The biggest problem is that they can tell all these dark stories and then implement nothing to the game. Just look at war torn Natlan nation in Genshin, the trailer showed happy bright Sumeru 2.0 and even if they gonna make good war story - the game itself will still be kiddy bright without any reflection of centuries of war and destruction.
So glad they're starting small with just getting to know all the factions.

I had such low expectations of ZZZ honestly, then I played it, I lasted 12 hours before laying down to actually rest, next day I'm still playing and having fun.

Yeah it's fun as heck. I'm addicted. It's like the ultimate arcade action gacha game. Exactly what I was hoping it would be. Tons of fun bite sized game modes, constant action (if you skip dialogue), it's the perfect gacha game if you have ADHD like me.
I gotta grind on WuWa and HSR but I just spent 2 days on ZZZ and only reason I stopped was because my fingers ache lol. Game is fun. Only thing that I could see killing it for me is if I compare it to some of my other games but I don't do that so no problems! It's honestly such an enjoyable game atm.

I’m calling it right now, the reason the protagonists are helping in Hollow Zero is to find the Professor. He founded Helios academy, and Phaethon is the son of Helios in Greek mythology. Phaethon attempted to drive the Sun chariot across the sky, believing he could do it just as well as his father. However, he could not control the horses causing him to first ride too close to Earth, and then too far from Earth. Ultimately, he was struck down by Zeus where he fell into the river Eridanus. The story of Phaethon is a cautionary tale about hubris

@@theremnants6807 So fun fact: If you look at the artifacts you get from Hollow Zero (and specifically, Throne). The strength of an ethereal is actually not based on the strength or aptitude of person, but based on a LACK of resistance to ethereal corruption. Nineveh wasn't a void hunter or some super strong fighter, the clues she left behind actually point to her being an upper class florist.
